We don't have the lease programs for heavy duty pickups. They usually aren't favorable.

Can you explain this a bit. It seams like the 2500 Diesel rigs have incredible resale so why would the rates be unfavorable? Where could I get these? I need the 2500 to tow a boat (9000lbs) so the 1500 won't work. Thanks.

We don't have them. Check with a dealer?

While they do have good resale, many heavy-duty trucks are used in commercial applications and the amount of use/abuse and wear/tear would vary widely, in comparison to most leased passenger vehicles. I think the risk profile would cause banks to give them a lower residual, on average.

Chrysler Capital does publish residuals for HD trucks.

I looked at one example - BigHorn Crew Cab 4x2. The 36/15 residual for the 1500 model is 48%; for the 2500, it's 41%. And, the MF is much, much higher for the HD truck, as well.

Can't tell you if this translates to GM, but just a data point to think about.

Thank you very much. The deal I did had a residual of 59% and a MF of 0.0013. I am not smart enough to know what that means to bottom line. Any chance you could give me some insight? I specifically asked the finance guy if they were marking up the MF and he said absolutely not. I am the same user as coachdavo by the way

I'm not sure where their numbers came from, but on the typical deal, the higher money factor would be offset by the higher residual, and the monthly would be about the same. (given this example)

Engine choice does not affect the lease numbers, just the trim level and cab style.

That's correct, assuming 4X4.
