Fair question. I travel a lot, and work is close by -  so this is really a weekend car. I have a 5 series lease that I’m returning after 3 years @ 16k miles. Assuming the same or even 18k in 3 years; that .30 * 3000 = $900. If I go with the 7.5k mile option, I’d be paying a lot more then that.

7.5K/yr only drops the residual by 1%.
That's only $679. And, you get 7500 extra miles over a 5K/yr lease.

Unfortunately, your MSRP is over the MRM. ($70,000) Which is why your residual is less than 69% of MSRP
Adding the $1900 you listed to the sale price, I get $1148/mo.+tax

With the base MF, the rent charge is $306/mo. X 24 mo = $7344.
Since they are showing $9131, it looks like they've bumped up the MF to around .00325

If you can find a $70K or less MSRP unit, with a similar percentage rate discount, you'll do a lot better, as the residual would be the same. Also, negotiating the MF down to the base rate would save $80/mo. or so...

Yeah I see in the build sheet they have given me , the total Retail Price is $73,600 (thats Total Retail Vehicle price of 72,550 + Delivery , Processing & Handling of 1050 ) and i negotiated it 67,100. But on the Retail buyers order I see Manufacturer suggested retail price as $70,700. I was planning on buying initially but switched to Leasing and got confused with the numbers & paper work . Dealership seem to be very supportive . I will ask them tomorrow and see what happens . But thing is, i kind of signed the papers, but didn't take the delivery ! Have to see how it goes .

The thought process of leasing is to switch out to 2019 Macan once it is out next week, 1 year after my lease . So, i liked this Macan S and the another one was slightly used 2017 Base Macan (1200 miles with good options abt $53500 cert preowned). May be If they are OK - I will get the used macan and trade in next year - would I better of doing this?

Or do you recommend to buy the Above negotiated new 18 Macan ,if I am planning on switching to next year . I think the APR is around 4.

Dealers can markup the rate for extra profit. That markup is exorbitant.

I had to go with $1289/Month Macan S 10k/24months as I signed the paperwork and negotiations didn't work out .

Last quarter, it was .00260, so I wouldn't doubt that number.

Not really.. transaction prices are probably too close to MSRP to make a shorter term lease cost-efficient.

So far I'm at around 6% off sticker, but based on some other forum feedback, getting to, or just above, 9% off should be possible, especially as the 2018 models continue to sit and the 2019 has just been revealed yesterday.

Just a 7% spread above 36 months.

Even at 9% off, you'd be paying 21% depreciation for 24 months vs. 28% for 36 months.
That's 10% higher monthly depreciation (more or less) for 24 months.
Once you start amortizing the fixed costs (registration/acquisition fee, etc) over fewer months, the price gets worse..

Looks like .00250 MF for October

TX collects tax on the full selling price, and it's also possible the dealer is marking up the money factor.
