I know in other forums you guys have provided a recommended starting point for negotiations (e.g. start at 6% off MSRP) and then factor in lease cash. Do you have any recommendation for Chevy Volts ? (N. California, Premier, 36/12).
    Thanks

What is the best deal on a 2018 Volt right now (best deal as in best residual and MF). I'm curious which models have the highest residual. And any cash offerings from GM? I see $3250 lease cash? Plus the 7500 for EV vehicles. That's over 10K off the car! Shouldn't be hard to land a sale with that.

    For FL btw.

There is only a 1% difference in the residual between the LT and Premier trims - 48% (LT) vs. 47% (Premier) for 36/15

Sorry, the $3250 is that portion of the $7500 that GM Finance passes along to the customer. They aren't additive.

And, the incentive on the Premier is $2875

Only the 36 month term is supported, this month.

Trying to do a new Chevy Volt LT Lease in Northern CA - 10K/36. Here is what I have so far.

    MSRP - 34095.00
    Sale Price - 29895.00
    Ttl Fees - 595.00
    Rebate - 4750.00
    Ttl Cap Reduction - 5934.17
    ADJ Cap Cost - 24555.83
    Cash Cap Reduction - 1184.17
    Working Cast - 7250.00
    RV - 47% - 16024.65
    ARR - 1.4400% - MF (0.0006)
    DMV - 365
    Tax - 9.25% - 548.91
Ttl Up Front Fees - 116.00
    Base Monthly - 261.71

    Drive off - 7250.00
    Cash - 2500.00

    Monthly - 261.71 + 24.21 (9.25%) = 285.92.

I know this is a very rookie question, does this look like reasonable or good deal? If not, what can I ask to be adjusted to make it a good deal?

So, should it be 36 months or 35? - Shouldn't first month be already part of the deal?
  • Hello!

Any idea on Dec MF/residual and incentives? Looking for Premier in SoCal 36mo/15k.

    Thanks!

I'm within a $1 of that payment quote.

They want you to give them $2500 at signing? I'd push back on that, and structure the deal with only the first payment and DMV costs paid up front.

The lease payment is based on 36 months, but you pay the first month when you sign the paperwork.

I have been able to talk them down to 228 (incl tax) + 2K out the door. Gotta see if it is a bait and switch. I will know tomorrow.

Is there a down-side to paying to 2K down vs structuring that in to the monthly payment?

Is there any line item on there that is negotiable or that can come down?

If the car is stolen or totaled during the lease, you will lose that up front cash.

I don't see anything out of line in the miscellaneous fees.
