Why am I not finding any dealers that are willing to go to the .00071 MF on the 2018 296 hp 4 cylinder automatic coupe for 7500 miles per year for 36 months?  They are honoring the 63% residual but thats set by the bank.  How can I get them to lower the MF?  Any suggestions?

Calculate the difference between payments... between their MF and .00071.

Make an offer that reflects that difference. Don't even mention the MF or worry about it.

So, if it's a $50 difference and their offer is $799/mo., offer them $749/mo. Once you know the calculation, you can quit focusing on the money factor. Leave it out of the discussion, and focus on the end result.

    That may not work.

RWD: .00069 MF and 62% residual

There isn't really a base AWD..
The lowest level AWD is the 380 model.

Hello, could you please provide mf and residual for F-Type 340 AT coupe and convertible?

    15/36

Also, what are manufacturer incentives? I was quoted “autonation savings 6200” + “vip money 2000” totaling 8200 off the msrp. I wonder if I can negotiate the price further down.

    76,623 MSRP
    - autonation 6200
    - vip 2000
    = 68421.03

    + sales tax 4212.53
    +6.50
    + 799 doc fee
    +tag/reg 250
    electronic filing 150

    = balance due 73.838

    cash due $3k
    monthly $769

Is this a good deal? I would do the monthly if it was 0 down

thank you very much. I was told MF and residual at .00043 and 56%

    Thank you’! Florida

The sales tax on a lease in FL is assessed against the monthly payment, so you can ignore the tax amount on the worksheet.

Ask the dealer for the cap cost used with the lease payment quotes, and a specific breakdown of how they arrived at that number from the selling price.

    Thank you Josh.

Based on the quotations you guys presented me on Sunday, I would like to know how we arrived at the 769 monthly with 3k down. As I understand it, tax is included in that monthly price, but the numbers provided "autonation savings + vip" are for the purchase option. I do not want to mix the two.

I need a specific breakdown of final lease price, not purchase, with discounts, and also what is the cap cost used with the lease payment quotes. I have the mf and residual you guys used, but as I understand mf on a coupe is .00003 for 15/36 MF and you told me .00043. I need clarification on this matter please!

    Best regards,

Josh is in a training class today, but I would be happy to assist. A lease can be structured in many different ways by adjusting the cap cost and the money factor. The bottom line is how much you will be paying at lease inception and how much is the monthly payment. The lease quote we prepared for you requires $3000 total due at signing, then 35 monthly payments of $769 (including all taxes and fees). We used a net cap cost of $67,079.11, a 56% residual, and a money factor of .00043 to structure that quote.

Hope that helps. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions.

    Best regards,

How should I proceed? Are they numbers they are providing right? What about a counter offer? Thank you so much for all your help. It feels good to receive your support in this matter.

Politely tell them thanks for the information, but you won't be going forward with a deal until you get the base MF. They know what the rate is; no need to share it with them or explain how you know it. (see above posts for the MF and residual value)

In addition, they gave you the cap cost, but not the bridge from the selling price to that number (acquisition fee? doc fee? junk fees?).

Progress is being made, but there is still information to get from them before you know it's a good (or bad) deal.

  • Thank you so much for being so insightful. I really appreciate all the help! I will follow your steps in negotiating, and maybe we'll get somewhere :) Thanks so much my friend.
  • Bob replied back:

I would be happy to supply you with a breakdown of the fees, but the lease quote we gave the other day cannot get any better. If you would like to pay just the 1st payment and fees at signing, that’s fine. We can even do a sign & drive structure for you. Obviously the monthly payment will change too. I’ll send a new quote to you in the morning with those 2 options.

    Best regards,
    Bob

Sadly, Jaguar and Land Rover dealers are starting to get a reputation for being difficult to negotiate with.

Be curious if they maintain a hard line on the MF...
