Please provide residual value for 10K/30 Month lease. Located in So Cal.
Also in addition to $7500 lease incentive, I came across $2000 loyalty credit and $500 Costco credit for leasing. Is there other lease incentives that I am leaving off the table?
Thank you for all the help
Here's all the incentives/rebates that I think should apply (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong):
- $2,000 BMWFS Loyalty credit - $7,500 federal incentive (given by BMWFS to the customer as an incentive for a lease) - $2,500 CA Clean Air Rebate (which should be filed separately) - BMWCCA rebate: New policy for BMW Car Club rebate. Sign up for three years membership $134 and get rebate without 365 day waiting period. $1000 rebate on i3 minus 134 = $866 in your pocket https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate

I just read a couple of articles that there are lease deals for the BMW i3 for $54 a month for 24 months with little to no down based on the discounts and credits. The writer mentions he actually picked one up with options for $119 a month.
This sounds pretty crazy to me but if possible I'll pick one up to just to putt around town (Concord) and the city (Boston).

Unless he had a $30K fleet discount I would say it’s fake news! Pretty much all the available incentives are posted in this page, i dont think in total they would amount to anything like $54/month

Do you have a link you can post?
Then we can look at the numbers and see for ourselves.
Hi - I'm shopping for an i3, haven't decided buy or lease yet. Is the $7500 lease credit mentioned above the same as the fed tax rebate, or is that in addition? I'm in zip 77433, is the RV and MF the same as the one given above? My company has a fleet agreement with BMW, so I also need to investigate that. thanks much!!!
BTW - today I sent RFQs for a specific build with MSRP of ~$50k to 5 dealers and 2 got right back. One isn't very straightforward with info, but the other is and said 4.66% off MSRP is the best they can do, minus $10k fleet and $2k loyalty. Then the $7500 fed tax rebate would bring the effective price of ~31k out the door (factoring in the $7500 which I wouldn't get until next years' tax refund of course). This is for a factory ordered i3 with delivery time of 6-8 weeks. Waiting for his quote on my trade-on. Anyone else get a better deal recently? cheers Kurt

Yes.. the numbers above are national.
The $7500 lease credit is a rebate in lieu of the tax credit (which you don't get, as a lessee).
Understood, thx for the reply. I also clarified the "4.66%" discount one dealer claimed. He included the $995 destination on top of the MSRP in his number; without it the discount is 2.7%. He claimed their invoice is "only 5.5% below MSRP, so our margin is very skinny". Do "discounts" typically consider the $995 destination fee?
I've also asked the dealer to quote me final sales price, RV, MF and monthly charge w/ 0 down for 30/10 and 36/10 to compare against the rates on my company's corp fleet lease page ($352/mnth for $51k MSRP with $3k down for 36/12).

The destination fee is part of MSRP. No different than any other option. 4.66% off is 4.66% off.
It's true that invoice is 5.5% less than MSRP, but I wouldn't worry about the dealer's cost. They have a lot of sources of extra money from BMW, based on sales incentives and customer service. The invoice used to be 7% less than MSRP, and we haven't seen any difference in sale prices, since they changed it.
You might be able to press for another $1000 off.. But, maybe not on a special order.
When I build an i3 on BMWusa the "MSRP" definitely doesn't include the $995 destination. So any discussion of % discount off "MSRP" shouldn't include it IMO, but if it does they should state so up front (which he didn't). In any event, I suspected that his line about "skinny profits" was just that, and I'm not trying to bankrupt any dealer but every % counts. Have gone back and forth with him a few times today, now trying to get him to give up the MF and RV and monthly payment with $0 down. For a $49,300 MSRP build (custom order) he quoted a 36/10k for $422/mnth all in (6.25% TX sales tax, T&L), with $4k from my $14k trade-in (will try for $15k) down and a $10k check to me. My last email to him asks for difference in MF for $0 down vs $4k, and to break down the cap coast, RV and MFs. Another dealer (brand new BMW dealer in Austin that seems eager for biz) got in touch today so I'm waiting on their estimate on my trade-in (very clean 2012 328i Wagon, well optioned, w/ 44.5k miles) and lease offer.
BTW - should there be any difference on trade-in value for a lease, if the car I'm trading is paid-off w/ title in hand, vs loan?
thanks so much for the help. I'm obviously new at the leasing game but seems like the best way to go on an i3 right now due to high RV and big depreciation if buying, despite the huge incentives on purchase. cheers! Kurt
additional on the trade-in question. Several dealers have pressed me to tell them how much I owe on the 2012 wagon. I thought this was purely info for negotiating reasons so have resisted telling them (even though they can surely find out with a credit check), but is there any real difference to dealers if my trade-in is paid for vs loan (underwater or not?). I am a little underwater on the loan, but can bring it up to even at any time no problem if that really would affect it's trade in value.

Now I'm confused; in your first post, you talked as if you owned the car outright ($10K check to you, $4K applied to the new lease).
The car is worth what it's worth, regardless of a loan balance or not. If you have a Carmax nearby, take it to them and let them put a number on it. I did that a few years ago and got the dealer I was working with to up their trade value by $2K to match the Carmax offer.
Either way, we aren't fans of using trade equity in a lease; pay the first payment and registration costs from it, then get a check for the balance.
No $14k was the dealer's first offer, and the $10k check/$4k down his suggestion. I don't remember telling that dealer that I owned the car, he must assumed it. Like you said, it shouldn't matter to him if it's owned outright or not, yet several dealers have pressed me about the outstanding load amount.
Understood about down payment, that's why I'm asking everyone for RV/MF/lease rate with $0 down. thanks
I know they have extended the $7,500 lease loyalty by the end of July, but what are the rest of the numbers (rates/incentives) for this month? Looking in California for a 36/10

.00187 MF and 58% residual $7500 lease credit
Jeez! What an awful bump in MF!
Interest rates are going up... looks like BMW is trying to get ahead of the curve.
You can’t completely combine loyalty and Costco rebates. So total Loyalty and Costco would be $2,500. Also, you can purchase BMW Car Club of America 3 year membership ($134) and get a $1,000 rebate in the mail (on top of loyalty and costco rebates).
Comments
- $2,000 BMWFS Loyalty credit
- $7,500 federal incentive (given by BMWFS to the customer as an incentive for a lease)
- $2,500 CA Clean Air Rebate (which should be filed separately)
- BMWCCA rebate: New policy for BMW Car Club rebate. Sign up for three years membership $134 and get rebate without 365 day waiting period. $1000 rebate on i3 minus 134 = $866 in your pocket https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate
and then depending on where you live and who is your utility company, you might be eligible for one of these offers as well:
- $450 SCE's Clean Fuel Rebate (https://www.scecleanfuel.com)
- $500 PG&E's Clean Fuel Rebate (https://www.pge.com/en_US/residential/solar-and-vehicles/options/clean-vehicles/electric/clean-fuel-rebate-for-electric-vehicles.page)
I think all of the above could "stack up" so in total you could get a total of $2000+$7500+$2500+$1000+$500=$13,500
As far as I know the $500 Costco lease incentive ended last month. Do you have a link that shows it is still valid?

I'm seeing 7500 lease cash, 2000 loyalty, 2500 costco rebate and the option to apply for 2500 CA rebate after signing. Hoping for a sweet deal
So total Loyalty and Costco would be $2,500.
Also, you can purchase BMW Car Club of America 3 year membership ($134) and get a $1,000 rebate in the mail (on top of loyalty and costco rebates).
I see the lease credit and the loyalty.
No info on Costco.
But, you should definitely negotiate a discount, in addition to the rebates
