Currently working this deal: 2018 BMW i3s w/ REx MSRP: $58,695 Neg Sale Price: $51,651 (12% off) Incentives: $7,500 fed, $2,000 loyalty, $500 Costco Cap Cost: $41,651 MF: 0.00166 Residual: 63% (24/12k) Acq/Bank/MV: $925, $499, $310
Due at signing: $2090 Payment: $356
The payment is not matching up with the terms. Wondering why. It should be $324 a month. He blames it on the numbers BMW puts in the computer on the car. I'm not convinced on that one.
Wow 12% off ... hard to believe. So I assume no cap cost reductions ... just the fees at signing. I get 325.26/month plus any applicable sales tax (per month - 9% where I live). Don't forget, BMW has re-instituted the Multiple Security Deposits plan @ .00005 reduction on your money factor/bank rate per deposit up to a limit of 7. That would make the payment ~ 298/month.

What is your location?
Bank fee = acquisition fee. What is the $499 fee for? Dealer fee?

I'm sorry, yes $499 is dealer fee. New Jersey. I figured what the difference was. He said he couldn't do the $500 Costco and 12%. Was just giving one of those discounts. I was under the impression the $2500 Costco lease loyalty compared to $2000 base loyalty was not something the dealer took a hit on. This is from the Costco printout: "combine Costco member offers with your low, prearranged Costco price to receive even greater savings on a new 2018 BMW i3"

Hi, I'm trying to convince my mom to take advance of a great i3 lease, based on what I'm calculating, but it still seems really low, despite other low numbers I've seen!
Can you please confirm the money factor and residual in 33324, as well as a $10,000 bonus/lease cash, for 24/10 and 36/10 (they don't do 7,500 leases, correct?)?
Does BMW apply the tax credit at the dealer, as some brands do, or do we have to lay out the money and wait for the credit?
Finally, if possible, what kind of discount should I expect at the dealer prior to incentives?

.00166 MF and 64%/58% residual for 24/36 mo, 10K/yr $7500 lease credit
The $10,000 incentive is only for purchase.
The bank gets the tax credit and passes it along to you as a rebate. Lessees don't actually get a tax credit.

49495-5940-500-2000-7500=33,555
I get $259/mo plus tax with those prices, and the marked up MF.
Guessing there are some fees added in there, but until you get a full breakdown of the numbers, we can only guess at the discrepancy.

cap cost i am using is same as yours but adding doc/registration fees = 33555 + 672 = 34227. Putting in 9.25% sales tax, for 30 months and 0 cash, I am getting $310 pm. I have asked dealer for clarifications

$925 acquisition fee $950 upfront tax on $10K of rebates.
That's over $67/mo. just for those two items. I think we are getting pretty close..
You can get the $925 acquisition fee waived in exchange for higher MF: Base MF 0.00166, MF to waive AF 0.00216. Saves $$ on a 24/30mo lease, not on 36.

Good point... Only works on shorter terms, for relatively lower priced units.

yes, it was those two items, plus first month payment rolled in. so essentially what the dealer quoted was only 29 monthly payments (true 0 cash at time of delivery). Now the calculations match. thanks.

good point, i will try that, but in my case the MF is already marked up to .00206 so they may not agree

The dealer won't care about the waiver bump. Assuming you can find someone in the F&I office that is familiar with it.

If not, is this additional discount on top of discount on MSRP?
