Is the 3175 incentive considered a cap reduction or a rebate?

It's a factory to dealer incentive, and will be part of any price offered to you by the dealer.
Right, but when use a lease calculator to you just deduce 3175 from MSRP or do you put it in a taxed or untaxed incentive bucket? Thanks

Reduce the selling price by the incentive amount.

Can you please provide the MF/residual value and incentives for 36mo/15K lease of 2019 RDX with tech package, zip code 06085?

I am considering a purchase but leasing seems to have better incentives ($3175 posted in above posts). Can anyone pitch in whether I can lease and within 3-6 months do an early buyout of the lease using outside financing (credit unions offering much better terms than Acura)? Are there any penalties charged by Acura? Do banks do this?

    .00215 MF and 54% residual
    $3175 incentive

Yes, you can buyout your lease early.
You'll incur a $595 acquisition fee by leasing.
You'll pay tax on the monthly payment, until you buy it out. At buyout, you'll owe sales tax on the buyout price.
Also, check to make sure your CU won't charge a higher rate on a used vehicle.
Thanks for a super prompt response! A quick followup question...when you do the early buyout do you still pay the interest portion of the remaining monthly payments or just the depreciation part? It wouldnt make sense to pay the former but since it is a lease and terms dictated as per Acura's contract and wondering if Acura will let go the interest portion...

Also, are there any early buyout penalties since the buyout will be pretty early in the lease term?

Thanks for the pointer on new vs. used interest rate at CU. Some of them go by year of model and I plan to use one of this kind.
You shouldn't have to pay the interest if you pay off the lease early, but I'm not 100% certain that it works that way for Acura.

I do know of someone who did that with a Hyundai lease and the rent charge was waived.

The lease buyout is reduced each month by the depreciation portion of the payment. Future finance charges are not included in the buyout amount.

I don't know AFS rules, specifically, but 90 days will generally get you past any penalty point.

Reading these with interest as my 2017 RDX lease is up in Sept. I've decided to go for my 3rd RDX, but I'm gonna try for the A-Spec this time. My question is, should I try to get a 2019 leftover now (assuming they'll let me out of the last 2 payments) - or - wait til Sept. and get a 2020? I know there's no differences between the '19 and '20, other than maybe a $200 price bump. But will they be willing to do a much better deal on a '19, or is it insignificant? There aren't many A-Specs in my exterior/interior color so should I go for the '19 now, rather than wait and have no '19s left in September? TIA!

You'll likely get a better deal overall on the 2019.

Acura has a pretty well defined pull ahead program that should waive your final two payments.

Here are the details on a lease offer on 2019 RDX AWD with technology package .

    MSRP: $ 43,495
Lease E- Price: $38,187 (this I believe includes the $3,175 Acura to dealer incentive)
    Term : 36 months
    Miles per year: 15000
Total down : $0 (plus $1000 from Acura as you own a Honda) =$1000
Dealer fees: $199 - vinetch, $499 Dealer conveyance and $195 DMV fees.
    Tax rate: 6.35%

    Total monthly payment : $612

I asked dealer about adjusted cap cost. Their representative states "Adjusted cap cost is $39,342 on the lease and that is calculated by the price of the vehicle plus first month payment and all taxes and fees. The money factor is .0025."

Is this a good deal? Is the monthly payment assuming the above parameters accurate?

The calculated payment looks about right. I'll guess the MF is actually .00225

$5300 off MSRP doesn't seem very good, considering the $3175 incentive and the $700 in garbage fees.

Thanks again. What would a good starting point for negotiation be? 7 to 8% off MSRP+ $3175 incentive?

Can the VIN etch and dealer conveyance fee be negotiated off?

Also I am getting a different net cap cost. See steps below. What am I missing here?

    E-price of vehicle = 38187
plus dealer fees and government fees = 199+499+195 = 893
    minus loyalty incentives = 1000
    Net cap cost = 38080.

Don't negotiate the fees; just ask for another $700 off the "e-price".

You need to include the Acura acquisition fee of $595

VA taxes the entire selling price, which hurts your payment when you lease.

Hi, OK so here is where I am at. At this point this is a no brainer to go with with the first one at DCH Tustin. Right? Am I missing anything? Here is the recap:

OFFER COMPARISON: All same residual $22,653 and MF .00225. 10K miles, 36 months. MSRP $38,395. Standard TRIM.

    DCH Tustin:

$2000 total out of pocket, including drive offs

    Monthly: $365 plus tax = $393

    Sales price: $32,393 minus $1,000 loyalty = $31,393

    Total out of pocket equals $2,000 plus ($393 X 36) = $16,148

    Acura of Alhambra:

$3995 down payment, including drive offs

    Monthly: $326 plus tax = $350 ?

    Sales price $33,240 minus $1,000 loyalty = $32,240

    Total out of pocket equals $3,995 plus ($350 X 36) = $16,595

    Spreen Acura

$2999 down plus $1200 in fees so $4200 down payment

    Monthly: $379 plus tax = $405

    Sales price: $33,627

    Total out of pocket equals $4200 plus ($405 X 36) = $18,780

    Mission Viejo Acuray

$4,038 down payment including all the fees ($2999 down plus the fees)

    Monthly $399 (including tax)

    Sales price $33,330

    Total out of pocket equals $4038 plus ($399 X 36) = $18,402

OK thanks for the response! For some reason I cannot carry over my last post through the "Quote" button anymore (getting a technical error message). Anyway, in reviewing the offers I posted above I have one more negotiation question. Obviously I am now leaning toward offer number 1 or 2, which have the lowest car selling price and out of pocket costs. I also have some equity on my current Honda CRV Lease which has a little over a month left in it. These dealers told me they are willing to take the car off my hands and make the last payment. Which is great but here is my question: I am almost 20K miles under the lease limit in my Honda and from what I can tell after doing some research, I could likely buy the car off the lease and sell it for $2K to $3K more than the payoff amount. Is now a good time for me to raise this with these dealers and try to get them to take this off of the price of the car, to further reduce the car selling price? (maybe get it down to $28 or $29K for example)? Or I suppose another strategy is to use it to offset any downpayment / drive off fees. Any thoughts? I am going to the dealers this weekend so wish me luck! I am also trying to decide whether to bring this up in advance or wait til I get there in person. thanks!

You may be able to buy, then sell the CR-V, but that would involve you paying sales tax, before you re-sell it. And, that's if you get retail for it. Likely you won't make any money at all. And, a dealer won't give you retail, because they need to make money when they sell it. But, if you still feel you have equity in the vehicle, then insist on a better offer from the dealers.

Also, don't get caught up in offers with different amounts upfront. You tell the dealer how you want it structured, then get quotes with those parameters. That way, everything is apples to apples.

You are right, the guy just emailed me and mentioned the security deposit to get the MF down to the 0.0215. Is that recommended? Also, I am a Honda customer, would I still be considered a "new" customer for Acura? They already are giving me the loyalty discount too (it is for Honda / Acura).

Yes.. to save over $200/mo. over the life of the lease, I would gladly let them hold a security deposit for the term.
But, if you qualify for loyalty, it seems you shouldn't have to make a security deposit to qualify for the lower rate.

You can't go under .00215. The dealer could mark it up, but we rarely see that with Acura dealers.

This forum is great! thanks for the advice. I think I am ready to go to the dealer TODAY! In a few hours. Regarding those 4 offers previously posted, the one that had the best deal continues to professionally negotiate with me over email and appears to be the front runner! They just sweetened the pot slightly and here is where i am at. What do you think before I head over? Now we are down to $328 plus tax monthly payment which will come to $354. The guy sent me the deal sheet to review. It says: sale price $3,1550 + $595 ACQ = $32145 total cap cost. DMV $452. Cap reduction $943. $1000 loyalty rebate. So total CCR = $1943. ADJ cap cost $30,202. 0.0225 MF. 36 months. 10K miles. 59% RV. It says $2000 customer cash and $3000 drive off (the extra $1000 is the loyalty discount). So now I am adding up $2000 total out of pocket plus the new monthly payment times 35 and getting a total cost of $14,390. So def heading in the right direction! What do you think I should focus on next as I negotiate in person? I will ask about the MF since I am a loyalty customer. And I will also bring up the potential equity in my Honda CRV, that he agreed to take the car from me one monthly early off lease and pay the last month and DF. I also wanted to pay no more than $2000 total out of pocket including down payment and drive off fees so I will re-look at this too. With the Honda equity maybe they can bump this up to 12K miles or bump me to the AWD. thank you!

You seem to have all of the numbers in hand... The rest of the decisions are up to you.

    Good luck!

All done! I got the .00215 MF and a bump up to 12K miles per year for no extra charge. $320 per month plus tax. The rest is pretty much the same as above, just slightly lower at $31722 total cap cost and $29,768 adjusted cc. 58% RV. Thanks again!

Congrats with your new ride! That's a great deal you got. Is the $31722 total cap including all tax and fees, and 29768 is after your roughly 2k cash out of pocket? I checked NADAguides which reports sale figures in Cali and you definitely got the lowest price possible ;)

Amazing how easy it can be when you have the same information as the dealer.

    Thanks for the report.

Hello! I am looking for the residual on a 2019 SH RDX AWD with 7500 miles a year (I looked through all questions for June and didn't see this one). I am a repeat customer so I assume I will get 3175 for incentives and .00215 MF. Also curious if you heard about anything changing for July or if these numbers will hold until 7/5? Many thanks!

Thanks. Wow the MF went up and incentive stayed the same, and they are trying to get rid of 2019s or what?

So the $3175 incentive and Honda loyalty incentive carry forward to July then? With same MF and residual this is great!

Any other new incentives or financing offers for July? Is the 1.99% financing on CPO RDX models available?

The Acura programs expire today. New program information should be available to us either tomorrow or Wednesday - no predictions on what might or might not change.

You did, thanks. Even though the lower rate is available for returning customers, they can still mark it up right?

They can, but it's not something we see Acura dealers do very often.
