    Hi Everyone:

I just wanted to get your feedback regarding this lease deal for 36 mo/15k
    zip 02421

    BMW 330 xdrive 2019

    MSRP: $53,095
Sell Price: $45350 (9% off MSRP + $3000 incentives of loyalty, lease)

    1st payment: $2353.51 (First payment for car $603.51 + Doc fee $632.19 + Bank Acquisition Fee $982.81 + Plates $135)

Then subsequent monthly payments of: $603.51

    Other info:
    Money factor is 0.00197
    Residual: $30264.15
    Monthly payment: $419.05 (depreciation) + $148.96 (fee) = $568.01 base payment + $35.50 Mass tax = $603.51

I think this is pretty good, but I was uncomfortable about the money factor being marked up. When I brought it up with the manager, he stated that I was getting a good deal and they had to make money somewhere.

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks.

That's a decent discount for a brand new model. Wonder how much of it the dealer would take back if you asked for the base MF.

The Bank fee is $925 - how does the dealer get a higher number?

Ask the dealer for a quote with only $1000 due at signing - we recommend you roll the doc and acq fees into the lease payment.

Overall, it's not that bad of a deal, with that discount.

Personally, I would not accept 9% off. My minimum target would be 12% at this point. But I’m spoiled. Also, use MSDs to lower the MF.

    Thanks for your replies.
Regarding the bank fee: Yes, they said it was $925 +6.25% sales tax = $982.81

Regarding the base money factor: Why is it preferable to have a lower money factor versus lower selling price of car? Is it because if the money factor decreases by the time the car is delivered, I would get the benefit of a lower money factor and thus lower monthly payment?

One other question: Should I just ask for cash for my trade in as opposed to applying it to the total price of the car?

    Thanks again.

Yes, always better to just get a check from the dealer for any trade equity.

You want to lock in the base MF so that reduces one point of negotiation when the car arrives.

    Hi:

Thanks for the info. I did try for the 12% initially, but ended up negotiating to 9%. Perhaps I should try some other dealers in the area.

The MSD program seems like a great idea. It looks like it shaves off about $30 per month for me.

    Hi,

I spoke to a dealer for 330i 2019 with msrp of 50k. They seem to be only taking 3k off the price and quoting a mf of.00217
On asking to reduce the mf, they say it is what bmw has set and how it earns. I believe the mf should be .00177
This is for zip 98121. Is the mf of 217 legit? This creates a deal of 750+ with 1k down (10k/36). Is there no hope of a good deal in this area?

Move on to another dealer. Lying to you right out of the gate is not a good sign.

Could I get mf/res and incentives on a 2019 330i xdrive 10/36 in 20852, Washington, DC metro area. Also, do you have any insight on what dealers make on the back end of BMW sales? I get that invoice price is $X and dealer complains that they aren't making any profit but what incentives does BMW give to them after the sale?

Could you confirm if my example below is correct?
If the base MF is 0.00177 and I use the maximum 7 MSDs, the MF goes to 0.00142?

Also, when do I bring up the MSDs with the dealer? In the initial conversations when they are calculating the monthly payment?

Thanks in advance. This is the first time I'm leasing.

Since MSDs really have no effect on the dealer, I’d leave that out of it until a baseline is set. Don’t want to give them another area they can use against you in negotiations.
(“Oh, but that payment already takes MSDs into account, Mr Smith”)

To add onto that, you want to ensure that you are getting the base MF of .00177 before the MSDs are applied.

Yes, net MF would be .00142. Should save $25-40/mo.

I had an F&I manager that I trust, tell me that using MSDs does result in a small hit to the back-end money that the dealer gets from BMWFS.

Not substantial, but it's there... Probably not enough to change a deal you've already made, though.

Personally, I would not accept 9% off. My minimum target would be 12% at this point. But I’m spoiled. Also, use MSDs to lower the MF.

Lots of great advice on this board for those who replied to me. Thanks again. I was able to negotiate to the base money factor and use MSDs which has really saved me some $$$.

I just got back from the dealer this is the quote I received for this model:
330i x drive m sport executive package, hk sound, 360 camera, premium safety

I was quoted 569 /mo at 10 k per year with 4.5k in MSD and 3k out of pocket so total of 7.5k at drive away, ( includes tax tags processing fee )

    MSRP?
    Selling price?
What does the $3000 out of pocket cover?

    And, what ZIP code?

    MSRP: 56,620
out of pocket covers tax tags processing

    20817 zip code

    .00177 MF and 60% residual
    $1000 lease credit
    (.00142 MF with max MSDs)

About $5500 off MSRP, including the $1000 incentive, to get that payment.

    Seems reasonable.

    Hi,

I got the following quote on 2019 330i x drive
    :
    Msrp: 48945
    Dealer discount : 4195
    Rebate: 2500
    Gov fees: 833
    Doc fees: 150
    Acq fees: 925
    Customer cash: 825
    Adj cap cost: 44071
    Residual: 29367
    Payment: 595
    Mf: 0.00177
    36/10k
    Zip: 98121

Is this a good deal with 825 down and 595 per month payment? Is there a possibility of negotiating lower payments?

The calculations are correct, and those look like typical numbers for WA.

The only way to get a lower payment is to negotiate a lower selling price. Though, your selling price is not bad.

I think 8.5% discount is terrible. And you should consider buying down the MF with MSDs. Shop around. I’m sure you can find at least 10% off.

    Update:

I was able to shop around and get a better quote:

    Msrp: 50700
    Dealer discount : 5417
    Sp: 45280
    Rebate: 2500
    Doc fee: 150
    Mf: 0.00177
    Monthly payment including tax: 560
    Drive off: 800
    10k/36
    Zip: 98121

I have almost decided to sign this. Dealers in Seattle are not even trying to meet this. I will be driving to Oregon to sign. Anything important I should know before heading to the dealership? Don't want to drive 6 hours and find out something is wrong in the deal. Should I do some paper work such as apply for finance from home? The dealer requests to sign the deal quote paper and deposit 1k$ to hold the car. I will Speak to them and not sign or deposit anything from home as I will be driving there in couple of days. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you want to hold the car, just put the $1000 on a credit card. If you don't take it, they will refund, but you can contest the charges, if they don't. I think it's a good deal. The PNW market is not great, when it comes to buying cars.

I don't see the government fees on your list of charges for this last quote. Make sure they are included (since you are out-of-state).

    Hi,

Can you share the current MF/RV/Incentives for a 2019 330i rwd, zip code 29407, 36/10K?

Since it is close to the end of the month will these numbers change for deals made in the month of May?

    Thanks.
