    Thought I'd share my deal:

2019 MDX SH-AWD with tech and entertainment packages 36/10k
    MSRP: 54,295
    Sale price: 47,500
cap cost reduction of $1000 loyalty bonus (turning in 2016 MDX lease)
    final price: 46,500
    MF .0010, residual 57%
Acura rolled over my unused 4000 miles from prior lease so was able to do 10k this time.
    Monthly payment: $509

upfront at signing: $2926 = $1724 NYS tax, $595 acquisition, $75 application fee, DMV fees, $509 1st payment - minus dealer is reimbursing me for my last off lease payment I just paid of $480 - so actual due at signing: $2446

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Is the $3625 dealer incentives? Does that include loyalty/conquest/college grad or are those separate? I assume I should negotiate selling price before stacking on the incentives.

    Total Cash of $3625 includes:
$650 Dealer Lease Finance Offer exp. 02/28/2019
$2975 Captive Lease Offer exp. 02/28/2019

    Does not include loyalty, etc.

Acura incentives are Acura-to-dealer. They should be incorporated into any offer you make.

    Hi all,
Was told today by a dealer that the $650 incentive wasn't just for lease deals but could be used for outright purchases.  I replied I thought it was "dealer LEASE finance" money only.  Is he correct?

BACKGROUND: I had begun by negotiating a cash purchase offer deal, and then once he gave me his "best" number I then moved the conversation to possibly leasing instead and said we could use that best cash offer number as the cap cost starting point, from which we could then deduct the $3,625 incentive money.  He balked and claimed he could only reduce that price by $2,795 since the manager had "already applied the $650 incentive to the cash purchase price he had quoted". Sound believable, or was he just back-peddling as an excuse to recoup a bit more profit for their deal?

Also, because we were now discussing the possibility of leasing, not only was he insisting on the "non negotiable" dealer /doc" fee of about $600, but now had to add in the non-negotiable "Acura Finance "acquisition fee" of $595 required for all leases.

How much of what he said is correct?

Acquisition fee is mandatory and non-negotiable for every lease.

$650 is eligible for both lease and purchase incentive, so only $2795 is additional for lease.

Dealer / doc fee should also apply for both purchase and lease.

This is why it's important to communicate clearly with the dealer - lease deals and purchase deals have different incentives and fees associated with them. You can't simply switch from one to the other and expect to see the same numbers.

    Thanks Michaell
Your answers are what I anticipated, except for the $650 incentive, since it's confusingly labeled "dealer LEASE finance offer", not to mention I have yet to see it mentioned on any buying sites/forums/discussions as a currently available purchase incentive, so thanks for clarifying that it is.

This means the dealer was being straight with me, and that's good to know, since they seem like really good people, with whom I would like to do business.

As for switching between the 2 approaches, it wasn't intentional, since I really went in intending to make a cash purchase, but when the salesman later asked why I was not interested in leasing, and one thing led to another, I decided to reexamine the possibility, and in hindsight, at least in this instance, it turned out to have proven quite an efficient shortcut to quickly isolating what their real bottom line cap cost would be, prior to applying any lease incentives or other adjustments. Thus it actually kept the critical issue of how low they would sell the car from becoming muddied and conflated, as is often reported on this very forum.  So, unless I'm missing something  and please correct me if I am wrong, when determining the adjusted cap cost when leasing, one must first start with for how much they will sell the car, before figuring in the various cap cost adjustments that come into play.

Now that you have confirmed for me the legitimacy of the nature of this particular incentive, as well as the appropriateness of the other fees (much appreciated!) I can proceed knowing the numbers have been negotiated to their fullest, (or very close to) and that I'm dealing with honest people.

Again, many thanks. Michaell!  I'll report back with any updates that might contribute to the forum.

Hi, thanks so much for this forum, your help is greatly appreciated! Could you share how the trim levels might affect the RV of the 2019 MDX? Looking to lease new, wondering if a fully loaded version makes sense.

All trims have the same residual, except for the base model, which is 2% higher.

    Hello,

Long time reader and my first time posting. We are exploring leasing a 2019 Acura MDX
SH-AWD with Advance/Tech package, and would like information on how to get the best possible deal and lower monthly payment.

Zip code: 27613, NC sales tax 3%, Money down $1,500

It looks like I need to try to negotiate the SUV down to 8-14% off MSRP, subtract any incentives, etc. Can you provide MF, Residual for 36/12K, and any incentives running this month?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hello...

The lease on my 2016 Acura MDX Tech AWD is up in April.

I did a 15k/mo lease but used far less....It has approx 27k miles on it....I can buy it for $27,700...I am considering this...

I am also considering leasing a new one....

I earlier received a communication from Acura that said the last 3 months of my existing lease would be waived if I leased a new Acura, but time has passed and I don’t have 3 months left....is this promo gone or is there something else I’m eligible for in lieu of this or any other promotions for returning lessees....?

I paid for 45k miles on the expiring lease but only used 27k....Is there a way to recoup this money or the miles in a new lease?

In my scenario, what are the incentives, Money Factor, and Residual...?

    36/10 and 36/12

For the Tech, Aspec, and Advanced (all of them in AWD if that matters)

    Zip 37976

Thank you very much in advance...!

We don't have info on pull-ahead plans.

We've had other members report that Acura gave them credit for unused miles, by letting them roll them into the next lease. Not sure if it's mile for mile, but if that's the case, you could get a 7.5K/mile lease on the next Acura, with them giving you an actual 12K/yr allowance.

I know the MSRP for base 2019 MDX. If I can get the capitalizaed cost to be the TMV , is that considered a good price ? Or should I strive to get a capitalized cost that equals TMV minus Lease incentives (plus mandatory doc / acquisition fees) ? I’m just not understanding how I can use my knowledge of  the lease incentive to my advantage. Sorry for the basic question.

TMV is before the lease incentives, so you'll want to calculate a price better than TMV, subtract the incentives, then make that your offer to the dealer.

Can I get the MF for a 2019 MDX 3.5L (base model with AWD). Dealership sent out a flier to turn in our lease early ( ends in July). I was getting regular maintenance and asked for more info. They offered MRSP of 47,695. $40,988 with rebates and incentives, residual value of 28,140. I have done no research or negotiating and they didn't give the MF. 36/10 lease. area code 02467. Thanks!

I got sent the following quote for a 2019 mdx. I’m not sure if links are acceptable, but here is a link.
    https://www.edvoylesacura.com/new/Acura/2019-Acura-MDX-atlanta-818a5afc0a0e0a174c891a97720552f5.htm

I live in Tennessee. The MF they are quoting with is 0.001 with a residual of 54%. That’s for a 36 month 15k/yr term. They are quoting $709/mo with $0 down. Maybe this is accurate, but personally this quote seems very high. Any help would be appreciated!

That is the correct MF and residual.
    $3625 incentive

What is the exact amount Due at Signing with that quote?
Do you have the selling price or adjusted CAP cost?

I’m assuming the selling price is the price is the $57,445 msrp. It sounds like they aren’t discounting anything or giving any incentives. The estimate they gave was $0 down, just have to pay first months lease payment.

The payment would be a lot higher than $700/mo, if there was no discount.

As you can see, a monthly payment quote without details doesn't give you much information to work with.

I’m thinking of leasing a 2019 MDX Tech for 36 months/ 15k miles a year. Never leased before so I’m struggling to know if I’m getting a deal or possibly being taken advantage of. Could you possibly provide the numbers I should be looking to get, and what an estimated payment would be with $0 down? My zip code is 32003. Thank you so very much for any info you can provide!!!

You'll need the MSRP and the adjusted cap cost (selling price plus any fees you are not paying up front)

The incentives will be part of any discount you are offered by the dealer.

What is a good price, before incentives? Use this link to help:

2019 MDX SH-AWD Advance Entertainment, 36/12, zips 11235 or 08691 (i will travel to the second for a good enough deal)

How much below msrp can I get by negotiation? If incentive is say 7% of msrp, can I expect to negotiate down to 9% or 10% below?

Incentive went way up but so did the money factor. Wonder how this equates monthly. Thank you for sharing.
