so for 42 months I am being offered $375 with 2000 down.

appreciate if you could please confirm this one last time. You guys have been very helpful or else I won’t even know what a mf and rv is.

It's likely they've marked up the money factor.

SMF allows the dealer to markup the rate by .00050 for extra profit.
Ask the dealer what money factor they've used.

I agree that the 42 month term is the best, especially in a state like MD, where you pay sales tax on the full price of the vehicle.

I agree. Not sure why someone needs to pay the entire 6% sales tax on the entire cost and that too followed in some states

I have learnt a lot just reading these forums and it amazes how much these dealers make if one is not really aware of these things it’s upto me now to decide either the Subaru or the crv ri choose from as they are around the same ~350 / month.

Thanks for the numbers - It is interesting that when I calculate the monthly lease cost based on the price the dealer is offering I get the same (approx $385 with 0 down) for both the Outback 3.6R Ltd and the Forester Ltd. I admit this is significantly higher than the $330 I am paying for the 3.6R Ltd I leased about a couple of years ago.
