$2500 off sticker is pretty strong. I've got a friend seriously looking at an Si, and the Colorado dealers are only offering $2K off sticker.

Has anyone compared the MF/RV vs. the national lease they're advertising for the LX CVT coupes and sedans? I haven't worked a lease deal in a few years, but the $2199 down, $179/mo seems very good; apparently the EX turbo motor is better, but its for my daughter's first car, so performance could be a negative :-) Thanx for any suggestions,

Honda ads all use the money factor and residual numbers we use here.

The Sport models use the same engine as the LX, but might have a little more equipment.
Lease programs are similar, though the higher MSRP/selling price will result in a higher payment.

Thanks, I'm getting a Costco buying program quote to see if the purchase price is lower; if all other terms are non-negotiable, then purchase price and avoidance of the extra "bs" fees is really all to be negotiated, correct? I've always been told to negotiate the purchase price first, as if a cash buyer, then deal with the lease/finance terms last. I appreciate your input ;-)

That's correct.. but, let them know you are leasing, upfront.
The incentives on the Civic are all lease-specific.

What is the MSRP?

What is the breakdown of the $3000, specifically? We'd advise against that, frankly - better to just pay the first payment and DMV costs up front, and add everything else into the monthly payment.

The offer they gave me is the current President day specials w $2199 down. My payment had been $160 a month. I had read that its not smart to put money down. try for a 0 down.

You can attempt to trade it in, if you believe you have positive equity. Best to know the numbers going in, however.

thanks. i had seen something about flipping. i had looked it up and it shows its worth a few thousand more to the dealer to sell as opposed to me just buying it at end of lease. i do like the car and its very low mileage. friend suggested offering them $10,000 to buy it instead of my buyout of $11,000 and see what dealer says. i was looking at either a 2019 or 2018 Civic to lease

You won't be able to negotiate the buyout number - it's what's on the contract.

Most leases are constructed to box you into your choices at lease end. Generally, the market value is less than the residual value, even on cars with low miles on them.

You might want to try a couple of the on-line places - vroom and carvana. You might be surprised at the bids you get from them.
