They agreed to a deal, when I showed up to pay for my car they told me that the $1,200 incentive is only for active military and current lease holders. Also this was a lease for 2019 LX Sedan 12k miles/3 years. I negotiated the Selling Price to $18k, and then we layered in the $1.2k and I offered to put $2k down to have lower monthly payments. The only thing I can think of is that they didn't want to sell the car below $18k?

Not much of a discount, once you account for the $600 incentive.

I get $295/mo, plus tax, with those prices.

Ask the dealer what the adjusted CAP cost is, and how they arrived at that number from the selling price.

Dealer is incorrect - the $1200 is for everyone.

They simply wanted to get a higher price out of you.

Keep shopping. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Honda dealer in SoCal. You should be able to reach out to 25 or 30 of them pretty easily.

Maybe, the dealer's price already accounts for the incentive?

From your calculator, are you paying any of those items upfront?
If you roll those into the payment, and ignore the incentive, I get $323/mo.+tax. Which is just $8/mo. off of the dealer's quote.

If you roll in the first payment, then I'm right at $350/mo, as well.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted CAP cost, and an accounting of that number. Also, I don't think the fees in MI are as high as what Edmunds pre-loaded.

Partially correct. There is the $600 incentive, but that is Honda to dealer, and if they aren't passing that along to you, then it's time to find a different dealer to work with.

Yes, if a true sign and drive the first payment is part of the cap cost.

The numbers are correct, and it's good you have full disclosure.

But, a $1000 discount isn't very good, considering the $600 incentive that the dealer gets. Another $700 off would knock $20/mo. off the payment.
