Just to confirm what someone else posted in the thread, a local dealership responded to my inquiry:

"At this moment BMW does have a stop sell on all X1's until the remedy is fixed"

He wasn't sure but thinks ETA is early September. The actual recall sounds like BMW hasn't determined a fix yet.

About the recall...I’ve had a few dealerships tell me that there is the B pillar recall and they are beginning to remedy one at a time and reading these cars now...

That's pretty much as I called it. The "savings" on the first document was inclusive of the rebate. A discount of $2156, but with a $900 dealer fee.
$453 in total registration fees + $168 of upfront tax on the rebate.

Effective discount of $1250.
7% off would be $2500, and that would be reasonable.
Another $1250 off the price would drop the payment to $440, which would be reasonable.

Just out of curiosity, generally how much total mark-up does bmw typically have on their vehicles? I’m a newbie so I think the mark up is good information to have so I know how much discount to go after😬

I'm in CA and my lease is 36/10k but just as a point of reference I got 11% off a $38955 MSRP X1 before incentives. After 3250 in incentives and rolling in acquisition fee, I paid $1200 (fees+first month, 0 downpayment) + (Max MSDs) at signing and am paying $348/mo including tax.
