Had a more general question re: negotiating a lease for a 2019 Audi Q5 Premium Plus. I currently lease an A6 (2016 A6 2.0 T P+ 42/10) and only have 2 or 3 payments left on the car. Car is in excellent condition and ultra low mileage (only have maybe 20,000 miles on the car). I'd like to try getting a lease again from the same dealer since they gave me a good deal last time around.

My question is does the car being worth more than was anticipated at the end of the lease period help me in any way when it comes to negotiating for a 2019 Q5 Premium Plus e.g. anything to point out that could help me get a better deal on a new lease?

It's highly unlikely that the market value of your A6 will be higher than the residual value on the lease contract. I'd suggest you hit up the experts in this thread, to get a clear picture:

If, in the rare chance you do have positive equity, you should be able to trade the car in and use the equity on the next deal.

Also, I usually drive between 10-12k miles a year. Would it be more cost effective to get the 10k mile lease and pay for the overage miles? (possibly up to 6k at the end of the lease) or just get the 12k and pay more monthly but not have to worry about overages?

Better to pay for the miles as part of the monthly payment; they are less expensive than if you pay for them at the end of the lease.

No insight into what may or may not happen.

Typically, any change to the worse (lower residual), is offset by higher incentives or lower money factors, so that the same target payment is reached. But, it doesn't always happen that way.
