    Can you help me understand if this is a good deal?

    2019 GTI SE with DSG

    36/10

    Drive off: $2,847

    Monthly payment: $343

    Zip code: 97222

    I don't have specifics on money factor, residual, cap cost but when I estimate using leasekackr I can get to a similar payment using residual of 48%, MF of .00005, on a sales price of $30,395

    Totally confused. I negotiated a price on a 2019 gti and wasn’t sure if I was going to buy or lease. When I decided to lease, the dealer said there is a higher sales price for leases vs purchases. Is this legit? Dealer said there were different incentives from Vw for leases vs purchases.

    Interesting - because everything I read about negotiating a price for a car is to negotiate the price first and let them know at the end whether you are leasing or buying.

    It used to be that way.. Like anything else, things change. I guess it depends on how much time you have, or how sure you are in your information. If I know that leasing is my only option, I tell them upfront.
