You have got to be out of your mind to pay 50K+ for a Telluride.

So went to the dealer yesterday and they gave me the following, are these numbers accurate?

SX AWD with Prestige Package

36/10
MF .00239
RV 65%
Incentive $2,330
Zip 14127


I am bit upset I did not get all the details, my bad, but ended up walking out of the dealership.

Here is what I recall:
MSRP $45693
Incentive $2330
Net $43363
Trade In Allowance $3589
Acquisition $650
NYS Tax $?


All said in done and I am cleary missing some fees in there doc, etc.. as well as total lease payments, but payment was $564 with everything rolled in. Seems high to me especially with the trade allowance essentially as a down payment.

Will be visiting another dealer in the area tomorrow morning for comparison but will probably be taking a different approach. Will negotiate price of vehicle first without trade and tax rolled in, then add those in to see how numbers move.

MF is marked up the max allowed - base MF is .00199

My suggestion? Shop a different vehicle with a better lease program, or wait a few months for the bloom to come off the Telluride rose.

I've been keeping an eye on the inventory at my nearest Kia dealer and they have had what appears to be the same inventory for at least two weeks. Last weekend they had 14 on the lot and this weekend they have 12. Mainly S and EX and 1 SX. They claim they are "selling like hotcakes" so they must be selling them right off the truck and never go into "inventory". Or maybe, the few that will pay MSRP or above for a Kia already have, and the rest of us just wait...

Just got following quotes in South Florida.

(Included a Honda lease trade in, that washed...payoff=appraisal)

Selling at MSRP, which included a $1200 mark up for "lifetime car washes, nitro fill, etc"
Manager was negotiable on that part, since I won't have this car for a lifetime.

I didn't negotiate hard, but they had no issue letting me leave without moving off MSRP.  This deal wasn't even for a car on the lot, for one coming in next week.

Sales guy said all assembly is being done in GA the first year and they are only doing 40k units before moving assembly to South Korea and also increasing the price in year #2.  

S model was only a ~$3k less than EX, so after 66% residual....it like $40 difference per month.

We walked away....not looking to pay that right now.

You have got to be out of your mind to pay 50K+ for a Telluride.

I am in the northeast. Saw one about a month ago and it does look even nicer in person. Still would not pay $10k mark up on a KIA.

To add to what the experts here have suggested, I would recommend getting a check for the "trade in" instead of using that as cap cost reduction. If you do not put any money down, your true payment will be about $99 more per month than what was quoted.

We understood it is hot right now and since we are not in any sort of a rush we figured we would wait a few months until things calm down a bit. There are also two other dealers in the area and one actually recommended we wait as well.

Good decision. My A4 lease is up in 2 years, and before the Telluride, I never cared much for SUVs. I prefer sedans, but I MIGHT check it out if the price is right. The SX trim with the black rims is stunning.
