Hello...interested in RV, MF and current incentives for 2020 MDX Advance AWD 36/12K, zip code 22554. We currently have a 2017 MDX Advance with 4 payments left. We may be interested in purchasing our 2017 but the residual seems a bit high ($31,504) in the current market, we're at 28K miles now, should be well under 36K at the end of lease. I've heard used car values are tanking in the current economic situation. Any history of AFS lowering buyout prices? Do you think the deals will improve with dealerships trying to move cars in desperation? Thanks!

Captive finance companies rarely negotiate buyout prices. They'd rather cut the car loose cheap to their dealers, than give you a break on it.

No guesses as to what might happen in the future

Hi all, I am trying to make sense of an email negotiation I am currently working for a new lease on a 2020 Acura MDX Advance in zip 19096, 36 month/10K, and I am hoping someone can help offer insight. In a previous email to the dealer, I mentioned that I knew the money factor to be .00069 and that I was a current Acura lease holder, so I assumed loyalty would apply.

The dealer confirmed the MSRP of $59,275 and then says the following: "the net selling price of the vehicle is $47232.00, plus you get an additional $1500 for Acura loyalty to total your savings to $13542.00. In terms of the money factor, it looks like you are combining two different programs. The Money factor for the $8050 dealer cash is 0.00225, and for the dealer cash program using the $4450.00 lease cash, the money factor is 0.00069."

Based on this reply, I am concluding that the cap cost is $45,733 (MSRP - $13542 total savings). However, based on the total savings amount he has quoted me, am I to use the .00225 money factor rather than .00069? Since I know he is willing to knock $13542 off the price, why can't I use the .00069 money factor and negotiate that price? Just a little confused about my next move...

If at all possible, I am trying to get a monthly payment of around $460, and I am able to put about $2500 down. Any thoughts on how to achieve this?

Thanks so much for any help anyone can provide!

Better yet, ask them to provide you the cap cost for the .00069 MF, and see what they come back with.

Heard back...he responded that the cap cost associated with the 0.00069 MF is $49,497, which includes my loyalty incentive.

I really haven't done any negotiating myself...I emailed and this is what they came up with. Considering that, I wonder if I could possibly negotiate down to around $46K for the selling price. This would give me the payment I want. Is that an unreasonable goal or has anyone heard of deals this low on the Advance?

Thanks so much- this is truly so helpful!

The dealer was correct. With the .00069 MF, the incentive is $4450, not $8050, so any price would be $3600 higher with the .00069 MF

Whatever you thought was a fair price before would be $3600 higher now.

I haven't asked for a better selling price. I am wondering if I can, but I guess I am just going to try and see what happens! Thanks again.

Better yet, ask them to provide you the cap cost for the .00069 MF, and see what they come back with.

Good plan! I will report back with what they say...

Thank you, that makes sense. I honestly didn't have a sense of what was a fair price before...I simply emailed the dealer and this is what they came up with. I haven't asked for a better selling price. I am wondering if I can, but I guess I am just going to try and see what happens! Thanks again.
You can always ask for a lower price/payment

Yes, the tricky part is getting them to agree! I've just asked and will report back if we are able to come to a deal.

Well, this dealer would not agree to $46,500 but I'm not giving up yet. If anyone else on the forum is negotiating for the 2020 MDX Advance, please share your negotiated selling price!

Hi, I’m asking for MDX tech, I get a quote for 515/month, msrp 52525, selling price 43700-43800, das 708(first month +fees) +transfer plate fee( he doesn’t mention how much), I asked about my loyal customer discount. He said it applied to DAS.

It’s like 9% discount on Msrp to get selling price before incentive. I checked the true market value tool, but still unsure is it a good deal? Thanks!

    .00069 and 53%
    $4450 incentives
And I would have to qualify for those incentives? Or is it Manufacturer to dealer incentive and I benefit the full amount ?

    Acura-to-dealer. No qualification necessary
Dealer claims that those are for loyalty incentive/first responder , etc. "qualifying only" is the $4450 incentive referenced on the ACURA site ? or another source i can use to negotiate that point.

Acura to dealer incentive. Doesn't have to be disclosed.

It’s amazing to me that the pandemic hasn’t changed Acura’s residual or money factor or incentive offers. I guess they think demand is going to spring back in a month or so. Not sure that’s such a smart outlook. What do you think?

I've gotta believe that the folks who make the decisions for Acura Finance are a whole lot smarter than a lowly forum moderator.

Given the jump in the number of lease posts we've had in May, I think folks are starting to be more interested in getting new wheels.

Dealer quoted me .00225 and 54%. New to this and trying to navigate these waters. 830 credit score. Why is there a difference? Thanks again.

Edit: Actually looks like someone a few posts up had the same question. Looks like .00225 is with $8050 incentives.
