Thanks for all the information guys. With all my leases I typically walk in pretending like I'm going to finance just to work down the negotiated price, once we hit a number I'll ask what a lease would look like. Take those numbers home and make sure they add up.

The gal I was working with told me if I wanted the 0% option, it adds $1K to the cost of the car. Maybe they are deducting that out from the lease cash (unfairly if so),

I had a dealer tell me that the $750 lease cash was only for loyalty customers, otherwise the dealer lease cash is $400.

I'm also finding that the local dealers around here switched to a new worksheet format which is more vague than prior. It makes things more difficult to get through and requires a lot of Q&A. i.e. what does "down" mean. What is the out the door check I will write you, and so on.

Yes, you have to ask for the answers. Or, insist on seeing an actual lease worksheet.

$0 due. Also, still get to drop the $500 Subbie loyalty coupon once the first cut of the contract is drawn up.

I'll further echo the moderator's sentiment to be up front about lease intentions. Certainly, you can use the initial purchase quote to gauge discount, but by the second email, you should be clear you are leasing.

Furthermore, I found it easier to normalize lease quotes on $0 OTD . No wiggle room for the - likely intentionally - vague quote sheet currently being used.

And finally, I only discovered the additional $750 lease loyalty cash by tracing the breadcrumbs. It actually started with one quote I had, the guy had it on there, accidentally I believe.

Each rep I spoke to gave me little bits of information trying to hold onto the cash themselves until I was able to derive the truth from the guy I did the deal with.

Your residual and calculated payment suggest the actual official MSRP is $38,849

That is a nice big discount, but they are recouping some of it by marking up the money factor.
The MF markup adds about $33/mo.
