You’re right, the first payment is part of the $5200. I’ve been convinced to reconsider. I understand now that it’s not worthwhile gamble to put $5200 upfront on a lease.

Don't compare today's deal to one from three years ago.

If I add the $595 acquisition fee to the selling price, I calculate $287/mo, plus tax.

I know taxes are high in CA, but not that high.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and what was added to the selling price to arrive at that number.

Net Cap Cost: $25,286

I imagine they’re adding the difference in the appraisal value of my car vs what is owed to Honda Financial. (-$296, car valued at 13k thru dealer, owe 13,296)

Would you suggest to go back and fight for a Lower cost on the cars price? As the cap cost also included my $806 in “fees” and there’s an line of “upfront charges” at $462.

I’ll add a screen shot of my deal shortly.
