I realize there's a ton of information online regarding raising a credit score, of which I'm quite familiar with what's required without researching... the question was in regard to getting the tier bumped up through the dealership in regard to this deal.

I'd say that's unlikely - the dealer has fairly strict guidelines with regards to scores and the resultant MF to be used on a deal.

With the prices provided, I get $515/mo

Pretty sure the $1500 up front won't cover all the up front costs - first payment, dealer fee, bank fee, sales tax, registration.

The cap cost would have to be around $44K for that payment.

Ask the dealer for an itemization of the $1500 up front, and a bridge between the selling price and the $44K number.

$7000 over 36 months is almost $200/mo, so your true payment is closer to $675/mo. Which is not that great of a deal.

You should shop multiple dealers to get the best price, and ensure they are using the base MF of .00053 on any quote they give you (the MF can be marked up by the dealer for extra profit).

The only up front money you want to give the dealer is the first payment and any RMV costs.

You might want to consider a less expensive car.
