2) Why even consider this deal, or worry about how they got to the payment, if they are marking up the rate by that much?

My wife has been through 7 cars in 15 years so always dealing with negative equity. Finally coming to conclusion that leasing might be best for her bc she wants a new car all the time. Figured this would be attempt to wipe the slate clean with a lease and be done with the negative equity.
Using the leasematic app I was getting payment around $460/month. I used the app years ago when I leased my explorer and it was great, but this is all on a whim with my wife so I don't remember all the ins and outs and not sure if I'm calculating correctly. It does allow to put in the trade in information. We'd swallow that payment just to wipe negative equity clean and start fresh.

I think you are possibly missing a lot of fees and taxes in your calculation. Given the negative equity and the marked up money factor, there is no way it's coming in near your price.
Ergo, the need for the adjusted CAP cost, to see where the money is going.

So is the adjusted CAP cost the selling prices plus the fees(doc fees, etc). I do have the sales tax in there at 6.6% which I think is what Georgia uses for leases.

Taxes are collected upfront in GA, so you have to calculate the total amount, and add it to the CAP cost.
If they are quoting .00170, then why are you entering .00068?

I'm using .00068 b/c I'm trying to see what the payment would be if I got the correct MF.
