    Hello,

    I'm looking at a RAV4 Off Road TRD with the TRD Off-Road Advanced Technology Package, TRD Off-Road Weather Package and Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and JBL packages

    Dealer installed addons of Tow Hitch, wiring harness, roof rack cross bars (

    My Zip 08077, but the dealership is in Maryland.

    They are telling me

    MSRP = $41,933
    Residual = $26,837
    Money Factor = .00197 (This is the special through Toyota)
    Term = 36 months
    Mileage = 10K per year
    Rebates (Incentives) = $500
    Sell Price of the Car = $39,514
    Acquisition $650
    Dealer fees = Freight ($1175), Processing ($500), Taxes and Tags

    Virginia Tax = $4.15%

    Virginia Tags = $346 (estimated)

    He's telling me $650 per month with no money down, $580 with $3K down.

    I don't mind paying cash for tax, title & tags

    It seems the money factor is high. Even with the high money factor, I'm getting $502 a month, and with a lower money factor of .001, it's $435 a month.

    What am I not getting? This seems to be a poor deal. How can I improve it?

    First question - if you're in NJ and the dealer is in MD, why are they listing VA taxes?

    Second, NJ is in a different Toyota region than MD/VA:

    NJ - .00175 and 64%
    MD/VA - .00197 and 64%
    $500 lease cash in both regions

    Third, MD/VA tax the entire selling price of the car, which jacks up your lease payment. Now, I don't know enough about the tax laws in these states to know if you can get them refunded, then pay the NJ taxes (which, BTW, only tax the sum of the payments, the fees and the incentives).

    Can you not find a car in NJ (or NY, which is the same region) that you can live with, and avoid all this nonsense?

    OMG, that is hilarious, I haven't lived in NJ for more than 25 years, and for some reason put my old home zip code. It's actually 22102. I'm in VA. I haven't been able to find the car in VA. I've been working with the Koons MD dealership, which actually has an office in Tyson's

    OK, I'm giving up on the TRD, and moving on to a Limited Hybrid with Limited Grade Advanced Technology Package, Limited Grade Weather Package and Pano Moonroof

    I'm in zip code 22102

    So may I please have money factor and residual

    EDIT: And could I also just ask for the regular Limited AWD too, while I'm at it, since I'm having such bad luck.
