Thank you, Michaell. And today I learned that you can't put down more than 20% of the price of the vehicle on a lease. I'm not sure I've ever read that anywhere before.

I've never heard that. We don't advocate large down payments, for several reasons, but you can pre-pay the entire lease amount, if you wish - and receive a discount on the MF if you do so.

Oh? I was told that I cannot exceed a 20% down payment, but I wasn't given a reason. If anyone else knows about this, please feel free to chime in.

With a trade in of $9311 + $750 loyalty + $1000 down, $11,061. 20% of $61,145 would be 12,229.

That's only $1000 out of my own pocket.

There may be internal dealership restrictions, or restrictions placed by the bank, on the size of the down payment.

I'd check with other dealers and see if you get the same story.

I asked the Sales Manager, my sales person, and the Finance Manager. They all said it’s an Acura corporate policy. But it’s still odd to me if you guys haven’t heard of this rule. I trust the transparency here more than I do someone making sure I sign a dotted line.

My brother is a salesman for Jeep/Dodge. I’ll have to pick his brain.
