Jip, you're such a pessimist. I remember when I first came on this board and everyone screamed at me telling me I was a troll. They said I would be gone in a week after stirring ...
Yeah, I remember the day you first started posting like it was yesterday. Everyone was calling for your head on a silver platter. But, guess what, the ole Jipster defended you... the cocky, brash, overconfident greenpea of a poster that you were. I encouraged you to keep posting, not to listen to the naysayers. YOU OWE YOUR LIFE TO ME MOO!!!! How about $100k under dealer cost for a Porsche 911? :confuse:
Most dont speak english and are just happy to be riding .Most will be moving to a area near you to look for work. keep a eye out for the Deskman motor sticker on the back of the trade.,if you see one ask for a title.if they dont have one flip them quick and get a real up.
Thank god all the loans are non recourse to the dealer.
"I have put so many clues refering to my dealership in my posts.I guess you would need to be in my area to catch onto the clues. "
i have looked for a dealership that sells what you sell and the only thing that comes close and is in the south florida area is either:
O'Brien Auto Park of Fort Myers, or Palm Automall
if you go up north to tampa, then you might be at fitzmall, but from the way you talk about how much your store makes, i doubt you are at fitzmall. Palm sells everything you say you do, along with some other brands, but you said those brands were near you.
"My owner is famous for chrysler products and is one of the oldest chrysler dealers in the country.
Cory and i started out in the business together if that helps."
no, it really doesn't, i've never been to miami. im just looking up dealers that sell what you do in that area. i can find all the brands, but not under one house.
my dealer helped chrysler come up with the idea for the dakota and the style of the 93 ram.my dealer has been a top 50 dealer for chrysler/dodge/jeep since the 70s.
if you ask chrysler they still think we would rather sell used than new.lol
Sounds like a nice vehicle. Weird thing is, we just got a GT3 on the lot with 3k on it. We're asking about 9k over original MSRP because we had to pay the guy MSRP to get it. We've had it on our lot for about a week and all the potentials seem to be turned off by the price tag. We'll find a buyer, but it does surprise me. So what is real world pricing? It maybe MSRP for the vehicle that you have.
Perhaps these folks have moved onto the next great unattainable..... GT2.
So, it's up to you about what you want to do with it. If you're already bored with it, then sell it for no loss or maybe a little over. I guarantee you won't take much of a hit on it.
Jescue, chime in on this one. What's your experience like so far with the preowned GT3's?
Anyone find it weird that Kirstie_h and Tidester seem to be the hosts for every discussion that has a high frequency of salesmen posters? I wonder if they are exceptionally equipped to deal with us high-maintenance posters.

Edit: Would it be possible to start a "I hate all salespeople and wish they would die!" discussion? I think we could all get a couple days of amusement out of that.

We sold all the new we could get and I have yet to see a preowned. They are obviously good merchandise but I would think a preowned 07 would still need to be priced close to original MSRP. I am unfamiliar with Mexico blue, that would hurt it a bit for us. We sell mostly black, silver, gray. A GT3 is a little different and red or even yellow would work on one, but blue would make me more cautious.
Mrs Deskman is at the gym,my dog is sleeping and wont play and top gear doesnt come on until 8.Maybe i should set up the scalextric track and have some fun.
There is no doubt in my mind that Deskman is what he says. Like some one else said, his word track is all car man.
I envey the pay check but dread the enviroment for folks that work in dealerships like that.
How many F&I folks you all have, 20-30? Maybe not that many I guess. I can hang 8 deals in a day with no problem, though I might start getting bogged down with paper work, chasing stips, and rehashing if I hung 8 every day.
Ah, here I do it all. From the time the customer says "Whats my payment", then he is mine. SP gets me an App, and Ins inf. I submit it, rehash it, close the deal, contract it, break it down to go to the bank, and then follow up on it till it is cashed.
I would love to be set up where all I do is close and contract. When we open our new store in the spring we will grow like 3 times in size (asphalt not building) and have the largest planning volume in our region so we are going to have to change our system.
1987 contracted 32 cust at our hyundai store.every one was 8995 plus a full house on the back.I did have to get creative on the credit apts to get them all done.
remember the days when everyone wanted $250 a month and $500 down and you had to contract at max rate after all toys just to reach the payment.
Our SAAB dealership did I think 21 new SAABs in October with six salesman who also all sell Volvos. I would have to look to see how many new SAABs they did in November.
I like reynolds software . i prefer r&r over adp or e pencile.
as far as contracting, billing and funding i let my f&i guys handle that.last time i contracted anyone was a few years ago and it took me forever to line up the law forms on the printer.
Would it be possible to start a "I hate all salespeople and wish they would die!" discussion?
And have another customer centric discussion taken over by salespeople? Not a chance! :P
Seriously, I do hope that folks with actual dealer problems aren't being scared off but I do know that when the time comes and someone does relate a concern then all of you will be more than happy to offer both sympathy and friendly professional assistance. That's just the way you are!

Give the Porsche rookie a break. At least you can make it up on Saabs.

The only Shingles we have with the dealers name on the Marque would be chrysler dodge jeep.
Fairbanks, or
Coconut Creek
Lehman sells hyundai and subaru, but not chrysler, jeep and dodge.
My owner is famous for chrysler products and is one of the oldest chrysler dealers in the country.
Cory and i started out in the business together if that helps.

For that, I'll GIVE you a new Porsche.
You have to pay for shipping though, and that's going to run around 100k.

2007 GT3 with 4700 miles has full leather (console, dash, switches) nav ,upgraded sound and ceramic brakes. custom paint mexico blue with black hides.

not one bit
I asked him once why he never turned pro and his reply was he could never live on a player if his skills income.
i had a turbo 996 and loved it .Since seeing a 997 Gt2 i only dream of Mrs Deskman and and black Gt2s.
The Mrs loves the color ,she had a 2002 996 targa mexico blue in the netherlands.
I would prefer Black or Guards(resell) red.
Anyone into 1/32 scale racing?

Are you all E-contracting yet?
yes

fewer mistakes?
The initial cost is steep but man hours saved in the office will overcome the cost.
C'mon, did you really think he'd fall for that? :shades:
