Well I got my 2006 Odyssey EX in Slate Green Metallic on Thursday! I got it for $24,750 including destintation, plus TTL that was about $800 more or so, for a total of about $25,600 (don't remember exact and papers aren't near me) at Brialliance Honda in IL. I LOVE IT!!!!! I am very happy I decided to get the Honda over the Toyota Sienna! I wish I could have gotten the EX-L w/RES but I just can't do that payment right now. I will get a portable DVD once its needed!

    CONGRATULATIONS.
You were smart to buy the Odyssey EX instead of a Sienna and you paid about $ 1200 less for the superior Odyssey EX than I paid for my 2006 Sienna LE. :shades:

First of all this forum is great! It's been most helpful on the way to the purchase of our first new vehicle. We were actually aiming for a slightly used one, but then since 2007's are coming in, we decided to look for a deal on a new 2006.

We got ours in Vallejo CA, at Avery Greene Motors. I would definitely recommend this dealer. The guys there were quick, courteous and to the point. They gave us a good quote in the first email reply.

We ended up getting it for 30873 + TTL + fees + extended warranty. Total was just under 35k. This is 2006 EXL with Navi/RES, Sage Brush Pearl. Lovely car!
  • kazaparukazaparu Member Posts: 9
Bought from Fairfax Honda, VA for 32,500 + TTL + fees, total coming to 34,517.

I think I paid bit premium for 2007 model. What do you think?
  • hansiennahansienna Member Posts: 2,312
Considering the MSRP is $ 35,490 for a 2007 Ody EX-L RES + NAV, I think you got a good deal. :shades:
My Honda salesman said Honda improved the 2007 transmission gear ratios compared to 2006.
  • mabazamabaza Member Posts: 21
Best price I have found so far is $28,000 plus TTL. Does this sound reasonable? I've been trying to figure out what invoice is on an 2007 but none of the sites I've visited have invoice numbers up for 2007 yet.

hi, i just purchased an 06 EX-L Nav/DVD for 30,728. (32,976 OTD) was thinking it was good deal--??
  • ptysptys Member Posts: 7
That's about what I paid for mine and I thought it was a good deal. I was offered a white one for about $200 less, but we preferred a darker color.

Mine OTD was higher though due to CA tax + 75k extended warranty.
  • sally7sally7 Member Posts: 2
I haven't bought a new car off the lot for a while, so I wasn't sure what I was getting actually was a good deal--but this price ($30,728) was below invoice. We only had one color option--Slate Green (medium Grey) with Olive interior. It looks nice. Hadn't considered the extended warranty--is it smart to get it? What about the all weather mats, and other interior accessories?

We were able to get the extended warranty for just over $1k, which is typically the price you can get it at after a little bit of bargaining. Considering that this effectively more then doubles the standard bumper to bumper warranty, and also how complex today's vehicles are, we thought this was a good deal. This is 7 years or 75k miles of peace of mind. Think about it - for $1k today your Odyssey will still be under warranty through most of the year 2013. This warranty is transferable as well in case you wanna sell the car.

We were told we could go back at any time during the first 3 years to get the extended warranty. The price however would then be around ~1800, so we decided to go for it as we signed the papers.

All the other accessories you can get through the internet at cheaper prices. Most of them are easily installable, or require no installation at all.

2007 Silver Pearl w/ Gray Leather Touring w/ RES/Nav, wheel locks, roof cross bars, mud flaps, all weather mats, first oil change, 36,900. ttl out the door. I don't know if there are better deals out there (I'm sure there are) but I do know I feel like I got a good deal after working back and forth with 4 dealers, three which did not seem interested to deal.

How does it stack up? Any success stories on 2007 Touring?
  • erayoerayo Member Posts: 7
Was quoted a price of $700 over invoice, about $36500 + tax, tags, etc...

Is this a good price? What are other people paying for the same vehicle? I live in NJ, not sure if this makes any difference.

Also what are people paying for extended warranties? I would like to get one for this vehicle as I plan on holding onto it for a long time.

Thanks in advance for any responses.
  • hatteras56hatteras56 Member Posts: 4
For a 2007 Silver Pearl Touring , RES & Nav, I paid 36,900 out the door with tax, tags, etc. included in this price. I also got them to include roof bars, mud flaps, wheel locks and an extra set of all weather mats...plus first oil change at no extra charge.

This was the best deal I could find after shopping 4 dealers.

I decided that I should get Honda care since I plan on having this van for a while. On the Honda site it says that you are eligible to buy it if you are still in the original warranty period (which I'm assuming is the manufacturer warranty?) but I read on here that you only have 60 or 90 from the purchase date of the vehicle. Which one is it?

And what does it cover/not cover?

Where is the best deal for the warranty?

    Thanks!

I bought 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L (Leather, Navigation and DVD) with six miles on the odometer for 34,900 close to 35,000 out the door last Thursday. So basically, I purchase it slightly below invoice. This is after the fact that I had put in 20 to 25 requests over the internet and many dealerships (99%) were reluctant to give out quote. In addition, mine Odyssey is white with ivory interior, cross bar and mud guards. They had another one with the exact equipments like mine, but in silver. I think I got decent deal, I think I would have offer a better deal had I wait until next year.

WOW! How much should we able to buy a Honda EX-L for walk out the door price. We haven't had time to search etc...our vehicle was stolen over the weekend. Any help would be great!!!
  • advantisadvantis Member Posts: 5
I just got a 2007 Silver Pearl Metallic EXL w/ DVD & NAV for $31,600 incl destination. They also threw in a cargo net and extra pair of headphones since I have 3 kids. OTD, the car would have been $33,900, but once we added a few extras, the price quickly escalated. I cant believe the price on some of this stuff.
    - Cargo Board: $300
    - Splash Guards: $150
    - Cross Bars: $160

They also tried to sell me hard on the clear coat paint thingy w/ the dent protection, rust etc...(package A) which would cost $1K.

Any idea if the hondacare warranty is worth it? The finance mgr quoted $1,100 and if after 7years we dont use it we get our money refunded.

My advice is to shoot for invoice pricing if you can. It all depends where you live and if there is a high demand then your chance might be slim, but let the dealerships compete for your pricing. I use www.kbb.com for the invoice pricing. However, at the time of my purchasing they did not even have it posted since it is an '07, but they have it now. What I did back then was I just gaged it by using the '06 invoice because I knew the '07 is pretty much the same as the '06, except for a few minor changes which are the Lazy Susan was removed from the EX-L model and the EX-L now has automatic door lock. Good luck.
  • fx35awdfx35awd Member Posts: 218
hhahah...that is how they tried to get back at your by offering the price on the car low and turn around and kill you on the added accessories. My car would have been 31,600 before tax, license and fee if I didn't have to pay extra for the 125 for the mud guards and cross bars at 225. However, I was glad they did not pressure me in getting the Lo-jack and extended warrantee. :)

I think your best bet is to get some internet quotes. If you have a particular dealer in mind, call them and ask for the Internet Sales Mgr or whoever deals w/ the Internet sales.

When you talk to them get their price from them and also ask them for what the invoice is on them. They are very generous w/ the info since they know that all that info is also readily available on the net.

I also think that they dont get paid based on the profit that they sell the car to you at. They are paid more on a widget basis. All they want to do is sell you a car at whatever cost the dealership will allow them to. Its all about volume for them. At least this is what Ive been told by the 3 or 4 reps that I spoke with.

    Good luck

So what did you ended up paying out the door. Our tax here in California and in the county where I live in is 8.25%.
  • advantisadvantis Member Posts: 5
    Our tax here is 6.5%

I was OTD at $34,500, but you really need to make sure you are comparing like for like.

For the EXL Nav & DVD the price was $31,600. Tax was $2,054, lic was $140, doc was $53. Total is $33,900. I got $600 bucks in accessories.
  • fx35awdfx35awd Member Posts: 218
I would still do your home work online first regarding invoice pricing. If you deal with internet department it would be to your advantage since their sales are base on volume, but that is not to say they will not make a lot more profit if you are not knowledgable in your purhcase. I have had that happened in the past. I do not like to brag, but I have purchased or helped some one to purchase at least 10-12 cars the past seven years so I have seen a variety of tricks dealership has play on customers. They love to prey on easy customer so come prepare and do your home work and you should be fine. It is weird, but I like to deal with them, however, my wife is the total opposite since she would even go near a salesman.

I just got an 06 EX and can't decide if I should get the exteded warranty. Does it cover alot of things? Plus since it has the 2 power doors I'm concerned that at some point in the future you never know if they will break. And will something that be considered wear and tear and not covered? Also with the power seat and stuff? Its probably worth it for the towing and tire changes and money back for a rental and stuff too?

As anyone had to use theres and have good luck or bad luck?

I got a good quote on them I think?

Terms begin from the original Honda New Vehicle Limited Warranty in-service date.

    7 years/100,000 miles warranty: ($100 deductible = $951.00) OR ($0 deductible = $1,051.00)

    7 years/120,000 miles warranty: ($100 deductible = $1,051.00) OR ($0 deductible = $1,151.00)

    8 years/100,000 miles warranty: ($100 deductible = $1,031.00) OR ($0 deductible = $1,131.00)

    8 years/120,000 miles warranty: ($100 deductible = $1,131.00) OR ($0 deductible = $1,231.00)

    Thanks! :)

Our deal is almost mirror image of each other except your got your low tax rate that helps you out. Here in California we support too many illegal that is why one of the reasons why our rate is one of the highest in the nation, if not the highest. They just come here to leech off the system. Sorry, that is another story. My added accessories were around $350 (Splash Guards and Roof Cross Bars) on top of the car price which was 31,600 (same as yours).

How much did you spend for your 2006 EX?

    Thanks.
  • mchaney1mchaney1 Member Posts: 2
I live in Maryland and have started requesting quotes for 2006's (they are few and far between). What should I expect to pay for an EX or EX w/ leather & DVD? I want to have a number in mind.
  • ptysptys Member Posts: 7
Is this from Honda? The dealer didn't offer us any other options on ext. warranty.
  • ptysptys Member Posts: 7
The dealer told us we could get it any time during the original warranty period, 3 years or 36k miles.

The coverage is the same as in the original bumper to bumper warranty.

I don't know where you could find the best deal for this. I would just call around different dealerships. They all can sell it to you.
  • hansiennahansienna Member Posts: 2,312
WOW. The best price for a 2007 Odyssey EX (cloth) in this area is $ 28,133. ;) Some dealers are not going any lower than MSRP.

Has anyone recently purchased a 2006 LX? What was price paid? I received a quote today for $22,750 + TTL. Seems like that price has been available all along and it doesn't seem exceptional for model year-end closeout.
  • fx35awdfx35awd Member Posts: 218
No or I think I decline so quickly that he did not even bother to explain it.
  • m_fordm_ford Member Posts: 10
I paid $24,750 including destination for my EX (cloth)plus TTL for a total around $25,300.

yep, from your choice of 2 Honda dealers. one in PA, the other in OH.

:) I need some advice on the extended warranty. I knew from this forum that you can get the 8 year 120K coverage for $1251. When I bought my van I told the finance guy that, and he wanted $1650 for the same thing. He made me think that I could only buy it from him, that day, and not later. I settled on 7 years 80K miles for $1250, which I could have had elsewhere for $750. I called him to complain, and gave him the website hondawarrantyinfo.com. He says that guy is selling warranties for one dollar over the cost from Honda. He told me that the reason the site says "if you live in FLA you must buy from your dealer there" is because FLA dealers will not honor the HondaCare from this guy. Anyone have any thoughts? I think the finance guy is full of B.S.
  • seversuaveseversuave Member Posts: 10
I bought a 2006 EXL with NAV/RES a couple of weeks ago with no accessories for $32,400 plus dealer fee of $70 plus TTL. It really helped to know what the invoice price was. I also got the 7 year 80K extended warranty for $1250 (see my other posting for info on that). I like it so far. It is a big improvement over my 1999 Chrysler T&C LXi.

What dealership did you get your vehicle from? Your deal sounds really good, and if it's in my area I would go there looking for the same deal.....thanks
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
For whatever reason, Florida law regulates EWs as insurance and they must be purchased in-state.
  • erayoerayo Member Posts: 7
Just got off the phone with my dealer again after I read your reply.

As explained the quote that I am being given is $36500 +tax & fees, dealer invoice on the car is $35787.10, so pretty much $700 over invoice. Total out the door price will be $39657.50

You statement of getting the same EXACT car for $36900 OUT THE DOOR + roof bars, mud flaps, wheel locks and an extra set of all weather mats...plus first oil change at no extra charge, seems a little way too low of a price.

36900 otd will mean that the dealership sold you the car at about $34000, which is way below invoice! I mean this is an 07' model not a leftover 06' that we are talking about right? Not to mention that fact that you said they also included all of this other stuff free of charge?

Can you clarify this for me. Listen I'm not the type of guy who is going to go shopping around and haggling non-stop back and forth at 10 dealers to save $300, but the difference between 36900 otd and 39700 otd is a big 2800 difference which I will negotiate for.

Please what dealer is this that you got the car from. Mine is Planet Honda in Union, NJ.
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
This is exactly why quoting OTD prices is meaningless - it only leads to confusion.

In fact, one could easily buy the vehicle at issue for $36,900 out of door as I'll describe. When I bought my '05 Touring R&N the price I paid was $34,5xx (whatever invoice was in early '05). My OTD was $120.00 more than that (or $34,6xx) due to a $100 doc fee and title and license fees.

Why? Because I paid no sales tax - zero, none, zilch, zip.

Why? Because Ohio allows a tax offset on a trade and, in my case, the value of what was traded exceeded the new vehicle price.

The other (more typical) reason OTD discussions should be avoided is that sales tax rates vary (widely) by location.

I noticed you just purchased a 2007 Odyssey. Are you noticing any dronning or humming noise at 2000-2100 rpm? We are about to buy a 2007 Odyssey and your post has been very useful in terms of price, but I have read that the 2005-2006 Odysseys have a humming noise problem. I just wanted to know if the problem has been corrected in the 2007 model. Thanks.
  • chikusrichikusri Member Posts: 8
How do you like this vehicle?, I would be going for exactly the same vehicle by next week.
Is there any rattling noise while you drive at 40-50 miles per hour?
    Thanks
  • chikusrichikusri Member Posts: 8
    Is this including Tax+License,etc,. fees?
  • nazirvnazirv Member Posts: 15
Wondering if anyone got a good deal on a EX cloth model and which dealer. From the posts I've been reading it seems that $25K is a good deal + tax, license, title. Has anyone had a good buying experience from a specific dealer?
    Thanks!
