Hello...I bought my 2006 Odyssey EXL on June 30th....I Paid 27500.00 for the vehicle..with tax and all I paid 29961.00..sales tax is 8.625% in NY...You should pay less than that for a 2006 as the 2007's are already out..just a thought...personally..for a few hundred more you should buy the 2007..that's my 2 cents....oh yeah...you're gonna love the Odyssey!...it's an absolutely awesome vehicle!

    Hi,

I'd just like to thank all who have contributed their buying experiences so we could make an informed decision. We purchased an LX this weekend with the protection plan and pinstripe. We were on our way to a get a Sienna for 23.9 OTD but called a Honda dealership for around the same price. We got it for 24.2 OTD. $1000 less than the TMV around DFW so we're happy.

    Thanks again.

    Hi
Did you buy a 2006 or 2007 LX?

OTD usually means the price including tax & fees (tax, title, license). It would be hard to believe your price included TTL. The TMV price is $25,553 but does not include tax. I think $24.2 is a good price plus tax..hopefully you didn't get a lot of fees tacked on. Please elaborate more on your details of the purchase...

I'm thinking of buying an EX but have not priced the LX.

    Thanks

    Hello Everyone,
I've been reading a lot here and online before starting my negotiating at dealerships for a 2007 Odyssey EX with cloth. Seems most people here like the EX-L or the Touring edition. Not too much posted about a plain ole EX with cloth...lol. I feel the EX with cloth fits our needs and our price range (although its more than I would like to pay!) Anyhow I am about to start visiting dealers and getting prices. Its hard to know what a good price is on an EX cloth before going into the dealers. My online research yielded the following different prices in my area, South Florida....CarsDirect.com says I can buy it through them for $26,891 (seems like a good price) but then kbb quotes the invoice as $26,441 and says people are paying $27,631! and then Edmunds TMV price is $28,558! These are all prices for an EX with cloth. Or is it possible to do better than $26,891? Obviously the online quotes vary from the major sites.

Has anyone bought a 2007 Odyssey EX with cloth recently? If you have, I would sure appreciate knowing the price paid.

    Thanks!!!

If the invoice is $26,441 (I haven't checked) and you can buy it through CarDirect.com for the quoted price with no added dealer fees, by all means do so and don't give it a second thought. Florida "doc" fees tend to be the highest in the country and are typically in excess of $500.

    Hi Everybody
I have been reading this forum since I got interested in buying Odyssey 2006 EX-L w/RES. I lost the bid for this vehicle last month in $500/-. Quote was 28,900+TTL. I asked for 28,250+TTL.
    Finally, I bought 2007 EX-L w/RES for 30,000+TTL and
    7yr, 100K warranty 1237/- from Conicelli Honda,PA.
We are happy and we wish you all happy buying experience.

I think you should be able to get it to $29,000 OTD. My friend bought one last month for $29,700 OTD in Orange County but she wanted a white car. I don't know where you are located, but in the LA area, you can get around $26,600 - $27,500 before taxes and about $29,000 OTD after taxes. Bargain harder. I just purchased a 2007 EXL Odyssey for $30,500 OTD this past Monday in LA so I think the dealer should give you a better deal than that for a 2006 since my price is only $500 over yours and its a 2007 Silver Pearl. However, I'm not sure about the Phoenix area dealers since I haven't had any internet quotes from them.
  • shawnxzshawnxz Member Posts: 11
    Hi sdtweetie,
Thank you very much indeed for your information.
The price in Arizona might be higher than that in LA. The reason behind it is because of the higher vehicle license tax (vlt) and documentation fee. For example, if the base price is $27,000, the vlt will be around $454. The documentation fee is $369, tax is 7.8% -- $2,106. So the totall will be very close to $30,000 (29,929). The dealser said there would be an AZ package, which includes wheel lock, cargo net, splash guard, tint. So, I'm thinking to get a $29,500 OTD price here might be reasonable. Has anyone recently bought an Odyssey EXL in Phoenix area? Great thanks to stdweetie again.

It was an LX. Depending on what your needs are you may want/need the EX with the extra power options and conveniences. Compare them side by side on edmunds.

    Good luck.
  • fx35awdfx35awd Member Posts: 218
I would recommend the EX over the LX any day because should you decide to come back and add one or a few features that an EX has would be too expensive and time consuming. That is just my two cents. :D
  • mrsparkymrsparky Member Posts: 3
I would recommend the EX too. I did to my wife, the primary driver, but she didn't feel she needed it.

    Get the EX...
  • cooper13cooper13 Member Posts: 14
Thanks. No question that this Odyssey will be an EX. I bought my Accord 2 years ago and had to have the EX.

I checked some dealer inventorys online and I see a lot of 2006 Odyssey EX with cloth are amazingly still on the lots. However, I like that the 2007 has the tire pressure monitoring system on it though.

If anyone can share the price they paid for a 2006 or 2007 EX it will be helpful. When I start negotiating in the next few weeks, I'll let you know what I find. The wife's lease is up in Nov. so I'll be making a purchase in the next 30 days.

Aim for invoice pricing if you get, but if you have to give in then just go over by a few hundred dollars. Good luck.

can anyone tell me what kind of extended warranties are offered on the new odyssey?
i had a 99 and thankfully, honda extended the warranty to 100K - mine went at 75 K, so no out of pocket expense there - but after that, i'm nervous about any automatic trans
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
See the whole separate thread here about Honda extended (extra cost) warranties.

They haven't come with anything similar to what was applied to your '99 (no need to, at least not yet).

"New" 2006 Honda Odyssey EX (with 750 miles) in the New England area. I think the MSRP is about $28945.

The dealers first offer is $25600. What would be a good price for this? And are there issues I should worry about regarding a 750 miler?
  • fx35awdfx35awd Member Posts: 218
Are they selling it to you as a used or new car? With that many miles on it I would consider it as a used car. Have you consider purchasing an '07 instead? Because it is much quieter and transmission a lot smoother in the '07 base on what I have read and currently own an '07. Are you planning on keep this van more than four year, if so, I would recommend the '07.
  • cooper13cooper13 Member Posts: 14
I'm not so sure its a good deal.

Here in South Florida the going price is $25K +TTL for a brand new 2006 Odyssey EX. I would love to buy the 2007 but I am being quoted about $2K more for it. There are so many '06 models still around here I guess is why. So if I can find the right color I will probably go with an '06.

Have you tried to find a brand new one at a similar or lower price? Try getting quotes online through the dealers internet dept. to compare.

My cousin purchased a 2006 Ody EX cloth two to three months ago at the Santa Ana Dealership in California for $24,200 before T&L and other state fees.
  • mcjazzzymcjazzzy Member Posts: 62
The Ody with 750 miles on it will be sold as a new car. At the dealership I work for they can sell a vehicle as a new vehicle with just under 5000 miles. Usually those vehicles are Demos and once the mileage goes over 5000 miles, then the dealership has to sell is as "used"..I would get them to drop the price on it a little more...

Thought I'd post what i paid in Md. I emailed many dealers, got a few responses, and many phone calls( despite saying in my email, please dont call me, I prefer to work via email initially) Anyway, bottom line is I got an 07 EX-L ,no navi or dvd, for 28003 plus taxes and tags from Herson's Honda in Rockville.Happy with the price and the up front salesman. No added mud flaps ,pinstripes etc , freight and processing included.I drove 45 minutes further than i had to, but they won the business because they were willing to give me their best price. My local dealers said, just bring me your best price and we will match it, but they would never give me a good price without a piece of paper from somewhere else. That just didn't seem right to me
  • caravan2caravan2 Member Posts: 198
This seems a good price. This is $595 below invoice.

Did they give you this price over the phone or email?

How was the selection of colors there?

    Thanks,

I just bought an 07 EX-L silver mist with grey interior this evening from the internet manager at Norm Reeves Honda in West Covina. She made the purchase experience amazingly pleasant. I couldn't be happier. All pertinent information about pricing and the vehicle itself was disclosed upfront and there were absolutely no games.

Price paid was $27,975 +TTL and includes destination.

You can email me for her name and phone number.

    Hello All,

I just received a letter in the mail from the Honda dealer/service center to which I take my 04 Odyssey. Its telling me that I can purchase a new or pre-owned Honda vehicle at the "Wholesale Fleet Price" just like major corporate and commercial customers do. It says, too, that I'll be entitled to all rebates and dealer discounts up to $3000. There is an attached check for $3000 (I do notice on the bottom of the check it says, "one discount coupon may be used per purchase of dealer selected vehicles. Does not apply to advertised vehicles. Includes all rebates and discounts" Of course, this is an "invitiation only and cannot be offered to the general public".

I'm leary because I can't see them taking $3000 off a whole sale fleet price...... Is this really some special deal or a gimmick? :confuse: :confuse: Has anyone else come across this deal at their local dealership? I have until this saturday so any help soon is appreciated.

I understand that...... what I'm wondering is....is if this is some kind of really good deal.... or if I'd really end up paying about the same as everyone else?

Would I possibly be looking at below invoice pricing?
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,789
I see these all the time..

If you notice, there is nothing specific in the ad.. other than a fake check for $3000.. They don't even mention a specific model and even say "new OR used".. How can they offer $3K extra off on every single car?

It is just a come-on to get you to the dealership..

Now, if your regional Toyota dealer advertising group (just for example) runs an ad with a $1000 coupon, and it's good at all six or seven local dealerships.... then it is possible that you might get a deal that was better than the one offered last week.. (they might be using local Toyota advertising money to subsidize it).

    But, this one? Doubtful..

    Hi,
It sounds like you got a pretty sweet deal! What exactly did it come with? My folks live in O.C. and I thought about purchasing our van in Cali to get a better deal. I was quoted in Southern Utah $29,900 + TLL and that was the lowest they would go because he said I would not find it any cheaper than that in fact he said that if any of my family members worked for Honda they could not get it at $28,000 which was the price that I was going for. Well it looks like he was totally full of it!
  • fx35awdfx35awd Member Posts: 218
It states "UP" to $3000 so it could be $200, $300, etc. I had an offer once from a Honda Dealership that I purchased my last vehicle from offered me an additional $500 off (after final negotiation) on any new car.
  • hangaralf1hangaralf1 Member Posts: 107
just purchased an 07 LX Ody. Paid $23,500 with no goodies. another 266. for the roof rack (must install myself - no problem - did it on my last ody), $97 for the cargo tray, and $98 for the service manual. plus taxes tags etc.
$25, 530 OTD. Probably not a screaming deal, but the salesman said that I "beat him up on price". did i?
  • sarge2007sarge2007 Member Posts: 18
I was just quoted a price of $31,186 for a 2007 EX-L with RES, but without NAV. This was the Costco price according to the sales person. The quote came from Kuni Honda in Denver. I have just started my research and internet pricing search.

I'm looking in the Colorado Springs or Pueblo area. From reading the past messages this price is way too high.
  • cooper13cooper13 Member Posts: 14
Not a screaming deal but not bad. Why would they charge you $98 for a service manual? Shouldn't that be included free? I got one quote on a 2007 LX of $22,998 +TTL but I am not sure if there would of been a dealer fee or not as I never went ahead on that deal and negotiate that price.

Through the internet, I found a brand new 2006 EX for $26,624 out the door (including tax, tag and all fees). We negotiated the whole deal via email.

I will never buy a car by just walking into a dealer again. You are so at a disadvantage this way. I went through the internet dept. of about 10 Honda dealerships in my tri-county area, found the best price and color on what I wanted and was able to negotiate the price before I even walked in. All I did was show up to pick up the car. I was expecting some tricks at that point, but the dealer was very straight forward and very honest -- For anyone in the South Florida area, I highly recommend Pompano Honda.
  • fx35awdfx35awd Member Posts: 218
He probably meant repair manual. ;)

That is the method I always use when purchasing a new car. The salesman can tell if you have done your homework when you walk in to when he ask you a couple of generic questions.
  • dixiechick1dixiechick1 Member Posts: 4
I just got a quote in Southern Utah for a 2007 EX-L with RES and no Nav for $30,631 everything except TTL. I have done all negotiating on line and on the phone. Do you all think this is a good deal?
  • dwjonesdwjones Member Posts: 5
Here in central NC I am getting quotes for a 2007 EX-L RES (excluding TTL) about $500 lower than that; but perhaps that can be explained by the fact that we're in different markets?

Consumer can help by bringing Justice to the public and informing that they do not fall victim to tricks of the Honda car dealership.
I bought a brand new Honda Odyssey Car from Huntington Honda 1055 E Jericho Turnpike, Huntington, NY 11743.
I ordered few accessories 1) cross bar 2) fog light 3) all season mats 4) cargo board 5) backup sensor.
I had made the decision after extensive research from Honda Website, Edmunds, KBB and other sources.
When I got my car I was very unhappy to find that the backup sensor was not what I ordered was shown on the Honda Website.
The Honda Site showed there were 4 sensors and they were color matched to the vehicle's color.

    http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/luvishminkey/album?.dir=a09are2&.src=ph&store=&pro- did=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/luvishminkey/my_photos

    http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/luvishminkey/my_photos

Called the dealership and went through a very very rough time to get it fixed.
The dealer gave a very hard time to get it fixed.
They did not inform me nor had my approval to install after market backup sensor.
I was kept in dark and they installed the after market part.
Instead of apologizing for the mistake and correcting right away, the sales person said this is how the dealership made money. When I insisted that this was not I ordered and that the sensor should be color matching the color of the vehicle , they offered to remove the part spray paint it to match the color of the vehicle and put it back. On my persistence that there are supposed to be 4 sensors as shown on the Honda Site and that the one they installed had only 2 sensors. They had nothing to say. They said they cannot help.

I had to open up a case with the Honda Manufacturer, Dispute partial amount that I paid with the credit card, Open up a FTC case , Opened up a case with Consumer affairs.

Only after going through all this hassle, pain, wasting so much time, stress did I get the backup sensor corrected.

I did not order an after market part, nor was I ever informed that they would install an after market part. The sale of contract clearly states about the accessories and no where does it mentions that they are after market parts. I went to the Honda Dealership because I had confident and had faith in Honda that they would not fraud a customer.

The Honda Dealership should have apologized for the Deceptive Trade Practice they have indulged as per New York State

I did not expect this from a Reputed Car manufacturer and good dealership that I had heard about Huntington Honda until I experienced the dilemma to be duped for a few hundred dollars on a car more than $35k and the hassle that I had to go through to get it fixed.

And on top of it being told that I did not order a genuine Honda part.

    LOL ha ha ha .

Why does a customer go to Honda Dealer for? Don't they go there to get a genuine Honda parts? Should the dealership have installed aftermarket part without my knowledge, Consent and Agreement?

A very unhappy customer duped by Reputable Honda and Honda Dealer of Huntington , NY 11743

yes, it was a service manual. i always get the service manual. i live in the central pa area, and am not particularly fond of my local dealers. and the ones with a good rep are just too far away. so i buy the service manual and do what i can do and leave the big stuff (timing belts, suspension etc..) to a local mom and pop shop called Warwick Autopark. when it is warranty issues, i break down and hand my car over to the dealer.

as far as price of the van, i had the five or six closest dealers bidding plus two in the Pittsburgh area. (i'm there alot for business). that was the lowest price offered by the dealer who also had my color.

BTW - does anyone know where i can get seat covers (LX-cloth) which accommodate the front row side airbags that come out of the seat relatively inexpensively? this is an issue as well in our 06 civic.

    Hello Everyone!

I live in NC and have gotten about a dozen quotes over the last couple of weeks over the Internet and on the phone for a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L (No Nav or DVD) across NC.

Right now the best offer is 28,500 for the Van:

    Out the door is:
    $28,500 Base Price
    $855 Tax (3% in NC)
    $299 Doc Fee
    $74 Title
    $28 License

    Total Out the Door: $29,756

Just want to see if there are any better prices that anyone has seen in this region and to let everyone know what a good price might be.

    Thanks! :)
