Although such chance is slim, but it does exist, if so, am I responsible for it? I doubt my insurance would cover such accident since it is not a rental company and no contract...

Well, if this is from a private seller, and the car is in excellent condition, the Blue Book Value is $18,700 in my area (ZIP Code 35209)
If it has some dings, interior stains, overall "Good" condition, then $17,555 is listed as the price.
If you are buying the car at a dealer, the blue book price is listed above $21k.
I'd say, if you leave a dealer for $19k out the door with this car, you've done well.
Based on that information, that price is way too high for a used car.
NADA lists the'06 with 22k miles at $23,225 average retail.
Edmunds puts it at $22,503. So again I ask, what do you think is a reasonable price to offer?

This is the second dealer that has quoted me 23,266 as invoice and not 23,166 shown on Edmunds. Anybody else heard this?

I got a 07 EX-L 4 cyl Auto Sedan for $22,516 OTD including destination and admin. fee. In MO we pay TTL at the license bureau.
Called to inquire about an advertised vehicle - 2007 Accord VP, and was told that they had them. When we arrived, we were told that they didn't have any VP's. Very frustrated that we had driven several miles for no reason, we asked why they lied over the phone? ..... Um, it "wasn't their ad"....?... "they just run the ads to get people in the door"....The finance manager said that the salesperson was new but was doing exactly what she was told to do in lying to us.... Anyway, the 'old bait-and-switch' kicked into gear and they showed us the more expensive LX. We were there for the VP. They told us that we could test drive the 2007 LX and they would show the difference in it and the VP that was due in. We liked it and decided to buy the VP. When we went into the office we were told that the VP we thought would be in in a fews day would actually be in in about 3 weeks. We got very angry and left. Of course they tried to talk us back into buying the more expensive LX for the 'internet price'. We declined. My husband said that he would if they lowered it even further. They said that they couldn't do it. We left. They called us 3-4 times that evening and into the next day to come back and make a deal. They had talked to the boss and got approval on the amount we offered for the LX. We decided that we would take the deal on the LX because we still had confidence in HONDA eventhough Fowler had given us the runaround. We drove back the next day to pick up the car. Now, the slimey finance manager proceeded to run our credit to leverage financing, eventhough we had secured a loan thru our credit union. He told us he could get us better rates but of course was more interested in selling insurance/ service agreements, etc. We said 'no'. He finally gave up, left the room and had another finance manager come in who started the process over completely as though we had just walked in.......We told her that we were tired, had spent enough time in their office and advised her to complete the transaction so we could go home. She was very personable and friendly and apologized for the really bad experience we had with the dealership and promised to 'send us something really nice in the mail'..... Well a month later..... Good thing we aren't holding our breath.... I contacted our insurance agent to add the vehicle and discovered that we were delivered a 2006 LX and not the 2007 we test drove and thought we purchased. Of course with all of the drama and confusion with the switching of the finance managers, we didn't the double-check paperwork or think to ask. We CLEARLY had given Fowler Honda way too much credit in thinking that they are a reputable dealership. Who knew that they would be so dirty?!!! AND, when we received the payment book this weekend, I discovered that the financing was not secured by the institution we were told it had been approved thru. It was some bank in Chicago that we had never heard of! NOTHING, BUT NOTHING FOWLER HONDA SAYS SHOULD BE BELIEVED!!!!! They lied to us at every turn. It's certainly no fluke when you experience so many lies from different people one business operation. It's obviously "business as usual". I'm frustrated and angry that I wasn't better prepared to deal with the low-caliber of people that Fowler employs to do business their way: The people at Fowler Honda lie effortlessly while they smile and look you straight in your face; the "slick willie" liar of a finance manager with "The Purpose Driven Life" propped on the end of his desk (I hope one day they'll read it and learn what it means to have character.). The people at Fowler Honda, when caught in a lie, will look you as if to say, "what's the big deal?"..... These people have absolutely no concept of 'integrity'. I really used to think car salesman got a bad rap. But Fowler Honda more than lived up to the most worst perception of the proverbial shady car dealer. BEWARE!!!!!

As a few posts in the past pointed out, all these dealers in the Raleigh-Durham area charge like a $400 doc fee and there seems to be no way around it. Factoring this in, the selling price of the car including destination but not TTL is 17531, which is about $600 to $700 under invoice depending where you look.
I got quotes from a few dealers around here through the Honda website and simply went with the one with the lowest quote. I didn't evey try to haggle at all (I am a shy guy...). Considering this, I think you all should be able to do better than I did.
The buying experience, though, could not have been better. I got in at the dealership around 1pm that day, met up with my internet sales guy and he took me to the car for a test drive. After we agreed on a price (well, I mean, after he told me exactly what to pay...), I went down the street to my bank to pick up a cashier's check (this is a cash purchase) and came back to sign a few docs. I was on my way home in my lovely VP in less than two hours.
As I mentioned, I believe anyone who tries could do better than I did, but oh well, I have to say I love every bit of this car, so I am not gonna lose sleep over the perhaps few hundreds bucks I might have saved. Good luck to you all with your purchase!

Whereas it is a shame things worked out as they did, you should never have gone back after you left the first time. You were tempted by a lower price, your greed overrode your better judgement, and you lost because of it. Live and learn.

I just got a new 07 Accord SE for 21000 OTD price in CA (Ontario). Is it good?
Recently, I got lowest i-quote 18100 OTD 2007 Automatic. I would not pay anything more thatn 17500 OTD at the moment.
In 2002 dealers were giving me ACCORD VP automatic at 14600 OTD (Including all taxes and charges). That was about $1.5/2k below invoice. However, that time the new modal came for honda and previous modal was close-out for the above price 14.6K.

I am from PA and came across a good deal from a New Jersey dealer on Accord '07 SE 4D I4 Automatic OTD 20,000.
The NJ dealer will do paperwork for me for car registration. They charge me $269 for new car registration. This $269 does NOT include a separate $298 documentation fee.
NJ Dealer said they charge a flat rate of $269 for all out-of-state new car registration. But my local dealers told me PA registration takes less than $100. NJ Dealer said
my local DMV will refund me if there is any difference between $269 they charge, and the actual DMV charge for registration.
Is his saying true? How did you guys handle yours when you do out-of-state purchase?

I was told documentation fee is about $298 for new car purchase. I heard from friends that I can negotiate the documentation fees if the payment can be made in full cash. Anyone has experience or advice on this topic? Thanks.
When the fee is unregulated, there is no set fee.
They charge what they feel like charging and it doesn't change based on paying cash or financing.
I just took delivery of an 07 Accord SE I4 AT Sedan from Joyce Honda and I must say they were very professional and helpful and gave me an excellent price. Get your info and tell them the best you have in hand-- if they can beat it they will. I spoke w/ Joe, the manager, who was very helpful. Another rep, Matt, definitely also knew his stuff and was helpful. Unlike ppl in Open Road, who knew less about the car and prices than me.
I was out the door at <$20,300, whats not in there is registration and stuff. That price is Car + Destination + Tax + Tire Tax + Doc Fee.
Honda Universe was willing to do $18,200 for the car, ask for John. Dan wouldn't give me that price he was saying 18.6. I didn't go w/ em tho so IDK how good they are.
Let me just say again that Joyce Honda in NJ made this sale very easy and gave a good price. They didn't push any crazy options and they answered all my (paranoid) questions.
How much did the dealer charge you for the car registration in NJ, or out-of-state? Didn't they do car registration paperwork for you?

I sent an internet quote to Mass (around Boston) dealers last night, this am I received the following:2007 Honda Accord EX-L EX-L Sedan MSRP $25,795 Quote: $22,299, Not including TT and Reg, includes incentives and destination. Looks good form what I have read, am I missing anything? My wife (her car) says the Accord is dowdy and boring, wants an Acura TL. I dont want to spend that coin, its a family car right?

I purchased my Accord last summer from NY state and I live in VT. The NY dealer provided me all the paper work for me to register the car in VT. Besides the actual cost of the Accord, here's what I paid to the NY dealer
Temporary license plate to drive from NY to VT -- $10
Documentation fee -- $48
Other fee (don't remember what it is) -- $12
Total -- $70
I believe the NJ dealer is trying to make extra $ from you. Ask the NJ dealer to provide you all the paper work for you to register the car yourself in PA and get you a temporary transient plate for you to drive back to PA from NJ. And the $298 documentation fee seems high.
Wondering if anyone has bought from them and what's your experience? Since the quote is so close, I want to buy from the one that provides better service.
Also, does anyone know if their Internet quote is the absolute bottom price?
Also, was are some estimated financing rates. I'm looking into buying the car, not leasing. I'm looking for 48 or 60 mth financing rates. With good credit (750+), what kind of rates can I expect to pay? This will pretty much determine if I can in fact get this kind of car.

The TSX handles beautifully, but is a little lacking in the "oomph" department for a lot of people, at that price.
We offered an out-the-door price of $20700, which was invoice + transportation - $500 + tag/title ($50) + sales tax (3.1%).
That price was about $600 less than the internet quote they originally offered.
In NJ the state forces new car buyers to register for four years (and if you die or sell the car the next day, month, year there is no refund)...but, that's only if you live in NJ. And for four years the registration fee is, I believe, about $264 If you live in another state...simply get a temp registration and then permantly register in your home state. No need to pay NJ for four years registration. The dealer...like most of NJ's politicians...seems to be corrupt.
In many states the doc fee is caped at less than $50...in NY it's $49. Anything above that is pure robbery by the dealer.
