I went to several other Honda dealers and both could not come close to the price. Ourisman did offer me a vehicle with extra options and they also had one in stock without the options. I decided the options added value and would help protect my car and that they were worth the investment.
What model did you buy?
What price did you get out the door?
What options did you think added value?
What options did you think would help protect your car?
Perhaps if you posted ANY specifics, we could also see just what kind of a great deal you got.
I purchased my new Honda at Ourisman of Laurel. I went online after my purchase to make sure I got great deal and came accross this forum. I too did receive an internet quote but I did not have any problems with my purchase. I went to several other Honda dealers and both could not come close to the price. Ourisman did offer me a vehicle with extra options and they also had one in stock without the options. I decided the options added value and would help protect my car and that they were worth the investment. I will continue to use Ourisman for my service and vehicle needs. I am happy!!!
Its strange hearing someone call their car an investment. A car looses money every single day whether you drive it or not. A good investment makes you money daily. Many people invest for a retirement hoping to have a golden egg upon retirement. A person calling a car an investment sounds like "car salesman" talk.
I got a new quote today on the same model of Accord from the same dealer that I had a quote from before Sept. 4. The price has gone up by $1200. Can anyone comfirm if the factory to dealer incentive has been reduced from $2000 to $800 or $2200 to $1000? Thanks.
In Orange/LA County from Norm Reeves in Cerritos . . . $2500 off of dealer invoice on an Accord SE 4 cylinder automatic. . . .
Yes. . . the deals are over. . . talked to my rep today and she said that there was no one that could go lower than the $17,696 price (although to tell the truth, I paid $17,693 plus tax, title, license, and fees). . .
Was the $17696 price quoted by your rep today (9/6) for an Accord SE 4cyl Auto? If so, that doesn't jive with the dealer incentive info posted on the Edmunds site. Per everblu's post above, the 4cyl sedans have a listed incentive of $800 (EX is $1500, EX-L is $0) and the V6 sedans and all coupes still have the $2000 incentive, implying SE's couldn't be obtained for this price any longer.
However, last month when the dealer cash was $2000 (or more) on all models, there was nothing at all listed on the Edmunds site. So, I'm not convinced there's not some extra dealer cash that has not been made "official."
This goes against conventional wisdom to buy when the new model cars are on the lot. Appears to have been the best time to buy was last month when dealers were trying to clear the lots. Maybe now, a month later there are slim pickings. Mr opportunity in now over.
Bought Honda Accord EX Automatic for $19,500(including destination) + taxes and DMV fees.
OTD: $21395
Invoice for this car is 21755. That's almost $2255 less than invoice. Its not the best deal, but I think its a good deal considering the other numbers on this forum.
This is from South Bay Honda in Los Gatos, CA. (Bay Area).
Thanks for all the folks on this forum.
Got financing from my credit union. Dealer rates were not good.
Yes. . . Mr. Opportunity has stopped knocking in the SoCal area.
I'm going to drive the 2007 Accord SE 4 cylinder AT for 2 years and then when my kid graduates from high school it will be the going to college/summer is over gift and then guess who will be getting a 2010 Honda Accord SE with the 6 banger purchased the last day of August right before Labor Day with what hopefully will be a $4,500 off of sticker price ?
Given the reported lower dealer incentives on the 4cyl models since September 5, I agree that your deal of $2255 under invoice on a 4cyl EX model was very good.
Today I found the following updated prices online from an Open Road Honda (in Edison, NJ) internet sales ad. Seems like they change this every couple of days:
2007 honda ACCORD 4-DOOR AUTO TRANS(incl dest).. VP $16,630.00 ($1578 under invoice) LX $17,988.00 ($1575 under invoice) SE $18,621.00 ($1575 under invoice) EX $19,575.00 ($2179 under invoice) EXL $20,945.00 ($2346 under invoice) EXL NAVI $22,945.00 ($2153 under invoice) EXL V6 $22,465.00 ($2949 under invoice) EXL V6 NAVI $24,395.00 ($2826 under invoice) ======================================== Note: all the ABOVE prices VALID upto 30TH SEPT 07. ========================================
So, it looks like dealers should be willing to pass on all of the dealer incentives now listed on Edmunds, as well as some additional amount ($700-$1000 on the examples above) that may be due to holdback or some other incentive to get dealers to move out the remaining 2007s.
I agree the tone in this message is different than the typical posting on this board.
Recall a few negative postings from Ourisman on this board so it could be an employee/salesperson stating postive experiences. Sounds exactly like what a Car Saleperson would say to sell a car.
See following comments:
* Did not indicate model * Claims Ourisman was the best deal * Dealer had inventory on-hand * Options are added value... (Most posters dislike additional accessories due to markup $$$$) * Most people realize cars are not an investment * Ourisman will service my vehicle
If you click on his user name you will also see that he signed up the day before yesterday and has one post. I would venture to say it's a salesperson or someone at that dealership. Very weak attempt to drum up business for his store. And against the Edmund's rules of the road user agreement. Mack
I could not find this information on openroad honda website either, could you provide the link?? thanks.
And I called openroad couple days ago and they said price is not including destination charge, basically they said the price, for example, EX model, should be $19575+$595. I badly need the website link if you can provide, so I can show them.
One note. Last week's prices (end August) did state that dest was included, but I could not find this statement on this week's ad. So, for the prices I posted, the dest would have to be added. My note (incl. dest) was incorrect. I also calculated the amount under invoice for each of these models, so these would need to change as well.
Some posts aren't much use.. That's okay.. Just ignore them.

keep it to yourself, and let's stick to the subject.
I think most everyone here is sticking to the subject. This forum is called Honda Accord: Prices Paid & Buying Experience.
When I first saw the post in question (#17061), I asked for specifics because nothing in the post mentioned a Honda Accord.
Other people noticed wording that did not seem quite right as well.
Someone else noticed that the account was just created and only one post was made.
This is all valuable information for those who are shopping and might consider whether to shop at the dealership in question.
Granted, we may never know who wrote the post and whether they had any affiliation to the dealership. But I do not believe it is right to scold the people who questioned the information in the post when the original poster was the one who was off topic as they did not mention anything about the Honda Accord.
I live in the State of Maryland. on 8/31/07, I called a dealership because I heard that they were advertising 0% financing. The sales manager tells me that I need to come into the dealership in order for him to explain the details of the deal.
I state that I don't have transportation at the moment, but can come in later. He then sends a salesman to come pick me up. The sales person states that I will be buying a car from him today.
When I arrive at the dealership, I reject the initial offer b/c the price is too high, its the wrong color and doesn't have the options that I want. I ask the sales man to take e me back home, he says no, that I will have to take the shuttle. He then gets the sales manager, they both state that they might can come up with another offer if I wait. They disappear into the sales manager's office for nearly an offer. I wait because I don't have another ride home. During this time, I receive numerous telephone calls from other dealers.
When, my phone rings, the salesman notices it from the general manager's office, he exits the manager's office and grabs my phone. He instructs the other dealer staff to keep me off of my phone. When I leave the dealer showroom, to use my phone in the parking lot, he follows me and intercedes in my telephone conversations.
I constantly begged him to take me home b/c I am diabetic and am getting sick. Finally, the sales manager offers me the car at $2,000 under invoice in the color I want without the options that I want. I bought the car, but now regret it. I contacted my local ABC news station,I told them my story and printed out copies of emails posted here where people have complained. They are doing an investigative special on this dealership. Plus, I pulled the salesman's criminal record is a convicted felon with outstanding warrants.

I'm surprise you still purchased a car from them after the way they mis-treated you. You're buying a car, not fighting a war. It's ridiculous what people would do to make money.
I wish that I had seen this place earlier so I could get it a week ago for less. I was set my heart on Lexus is250 and almost went for it until I heard it's brake problem. Did not even pay attention to Honda. Only put down $30.00 for deposit so still can change my mind before I go pick it up. Thinking about to get a CRV AWD instead because I worry about how LX will perform in snow. Never own a Honda before and have been drive 4WD/AWD. Any opinions?
If you are new to NJ and snow be advised that most highways and main streets are cleared of snow almost as soon as it falls. Snow is really not a problem.
Anyhow Al Gore says with global warming we won't be having any snow any more....and based on the last couple of years (laugh)....as far as NJ is concerned... he could be right in the short term.
I have been in NJ for several years and agree with you, but not all the time. I had to drive on the snow on highway and main streets early in the morning or during the beginning part very heavy snow. I just wish they have 4WD/AWD accord or camry. For some reason I can't stand the look of a subaru. May have to go back to SUV and cause more global warming :-)
The dealership was Ourisman Honda of Laurel. I am reporting them to the DMV and will file a complaint against their dealership license. They have had so many complaints with the BBB, that the BBB says that they no longer allow Ourisman Honda to be a member.
If ppl have had problems with them, why are they not complaining? There is the BBB, the DMV and the Attorney General's Office and even Honda corporate. A lot of car makers and even the DMV will revoke a dealor's license if they engage in such shenanigans. Also, there is a group called the Association of Consumer Protection Attornies that specializes in suing car dealerships. I can get their information for you, just send me an email, uszsxa3@gmail.com
you completely misunderstood the post you are replying to. alamocity has never dealt with the dealer you are questioning. And I would be careful at this point if I were you. I believe you are flirting with the "no spamming" rules. Your point was made.

I didn't say it was, I just said its flirting with it. And I could be wrong. Its just my opinion. The rule is something about multiple postings of the same thing (you can find it in the membership agreement you read when you signed up to post here). So when you reply to your own posting several times ... well...
anyway, like I said, I'm pretty sure your point was made with your first post. No need to keep hitting the board over the head with it. Just my opinion and I mean no ill will. Good luck to you in your quest.

If there is this much contention and argument and general consternation about Ourisman Honda Laurel then even though I am in California, the only conclusion I can draw is that this dealership must really have at least some issues.
I went to drive test a SE-V6 Honda accord which I want to buy. I feel that the car was a little bit choking and it was not very smooth when I accelerate from 35MPH to 50MPH. Does anyone here have the same experience? Is it normal? I tried two cars, both have the same feeling.
Honda was known to have not smooth auto transmission, it usually happens to the first 3 gears though. My one week new Accord SE 4 cyl seems to have this problem too, hopefully it will get better after break in period.
Since the eighth generation Accord is now hitting stores, and since there are now 17,100 posts in this forum, wouldn't this be an opportune time to start a new Honda Accord 2008: Prices Paid & Buying Experience forum?
We don't separate the Prices Paid forums by year... It is just a natural progression. This forum isn't a 2007 forum, it is for all Honda Accords.. When we start getting buying experiences for the '08 models, it will be right here.
(We already have over 400 different discussions in Prices Paid... That's enough for me... )
Thanks, fyt. The transmission wasn't very smooth, I drove test again yesterday, not that bad actually, if you don't pay too much attention, you probably will not feel it.
I read this and went out to test my 4 cylinder SE Accord and am happy to report that a rapid acceleration test to 65mph starting from the traffic light at the freeway on ramp was pretty smooth shifting-wise. . .. I got the car 612 miles ago and my trade in was a 10 year old Honda Accord so maybe that's why this new car felt so smooth to me.
The Accord has a noticeable shift shock in the first 3 gears. My old car was a Camry with a fairly smooth shift so I was a bit worried when I bought my I4 SE last month.
Then I tried out a a friend's Accord that is a year old and the shift shock seems mellower so I am not worrying as much as I was (My camry was still smoother though).
I bought my I4 SE about a week and a half ago, now has a little more than 400 miles. I can feel the upshift but it accelerates fine and doesn't bother me a bit. What I did notice today was the downshift. As I was slowing down with a light brake touch, the transmission downshifted and it felt like I was driving a standard. Very noticable decelleration. I've never felt that in an automatic before.
I realize I'm about 100 posts behind the conversation but I wanted to mention that I appreciate isellhondas posts/insights on the different forums. I've read his posts since I've been a member(18 months). I wish more salesmen would openly post on the forums.
Concerning your extended warranty, if you are interested in maybe finding the same thing for less try hondawarrantyinfo.com. They gave me the best price on my Odyssey Honda Care extended warranty. They are a Honda dealership out of New England. They were willing to sell me my Honda Care warranty for several hundred dollars less than the dealership where I purchased the vehicle.
Hello to everyone that is here and reading the posts.
First let me start off by saying, I am a Sales Manager for Ourisman Honda of Laurel. So if this post is not allowed, I will understand.
I have been reading the posts that have been on here lately and felt it was time to get the opposing view. Obviously my opinions are biased but no more so than the individuals who use these forums to "attack" any dealership when they feel they have been mistreated unfairly! Fair enough, everyone is entitled to an opinion and I begrudge no one for expressing their sentiments. That being said let me address a few issues that a few individuals are stating!
1) Ourisman Honda of Laurel is "banned" from the BBB. Ourisman Honda of Laurel does not belong to the BBB, it is a voluntary decision by any company to be an active or non active member of the BBB.
2) We are hiding our cars on back lots to promote the higher priced vehicles. Quite simple this is silly! We open our doors every day with one thought in mind...SELL CARS, the profit margin we have on a $15,000 vehicle is no more or less than the margin we have on a $30,000 vehicle. "Hiding cars" does not benefit us in the least!
3) We are quoting very low prices to lure individuals! There is so much information to customers on the internet that anyone with an internet connection can research how much you can pay for a vehicle! The information in most cases is free and independent of any dealership or manufacturer! You will find our prices are right in line with what your own research shows you! Do we have accessories that we put on our vehicles? YES! As do most of the dealerships around the area. Items like mud guards, wheel locks, door edge guards, fender wheel trim and pinstripes are very common items installed on vehicles. As a consumer you have the right to accept, reject or negotiate the prices on these accessories, and as a consumer you have the right to say no thank you and choose not to purchase a vehicle from us!
The intent of these forums is to help individuals purchase a vehicle, unfortunaly to many decide to use it as a sopabox to decry what they believe are injustices done on to them.
I welcome any questions that anyone might have about our dealership or purchasing a vehicle in general!
Just wanted to drop a note that if you haven't checked lately, Honda has updated their website, and the 2008 Accord info is now on there. They have also removed the 2007 Accords (with the exception of the Hybrid) from it.
If you had that bad of an experience, I would report it on the Honda Customer survey (they will call you and ask to rate your buying experience). I have always been told that Honda takes these surveys very, very seriously.
It appears some of the dealers are charging upwards of $38k for a fully equipped accord v6 exl. What are they smoking? One could get their choice of luxury vehicles (G35, TL, 3 series) for this price.
