What is considered a good deal on a 4 dr. leather auto transmission + premium package in NY/NJ dealers? And how much more should I expect to pay if I wanted the AWD with the above spec.?

Can anyone advise the price range on this? Or some hints on the dealer that I should go to or any referral? I'm planning to purchase within a month.

    Thanks,
    v8108

I used the manufacturer website in this case Infiniti to locate the vehicle I wanted at a dealer and then used the online form which gets e-mailed to the dealer. This e-mail is usually answered by an Internet Sales Manager who is more likely to give you a bottom line price without any haggling. I knew it was a good price because it was only a few hundred dollar profit for the dealer out of dealer holdback. I monitor this message board for the deals other people are getting but the geography and timing are factors also. Also, end of month for end of model year will get you a good price since the dealer wants to move cars. Also be aware that dealers are still making money selling the car below invoice because they make money on dealer holdback. But every case is different.

I'm also negotiating the deal with help from Ace2004, and in the process, I disovered some G35x sedans have a lower base MSRP ($31,900 before destiation) than others ($32,100). Does anyone know if these cars were built (or shippep) before Nissan raised prices?? Should I be concerned?

There's been 3 diffrent price increases on G35s in the last year. Firstly, as you say, the destination charge was raised from $545 to $595. Any cars with the $545 charge will have been shipped before the raise. Any car that has been on the lot that long sohuld be taken for a long (7 miles plus) test drive. Check the paint and tires carefully too. Secondly, on April 1st the base price of Infinitis was raised by 1.5% and the marketing assesment fee was abolished. Lastly, there was a price increase on May 14th of $200 for the G35 sedan and $250 for the G35 coupe.

Hello everyone...I'm new to this forum. Hoping you guys can add some of your expertise on purchasing the negotiating the best deal.

I test drove a sedan last week (last day of the month) which I loved the car then they call back the next day about striking a deal...I have done reseearch on the internet and seemed to have picked a number I would spend and no more...
Gave the dealer that number and told me he could not do it but to regroup end of next month and there could be a possibility...

    Thanks.

    I'm in NJ.
It was $31k on the sedan with premium leather.
  • loug35loug35 Member Posts: 15
matter of fact he had given me $32,100 as a price
    with 365/mo lease (39 months/12k mileage)

I talked to a dealer today and he told me that yes people are getting G35 sedans at below invoice but not ones with the nav. They are rare and therfore he can charge more. I was quoted 33,600 which he said was 500 over invoice for a g35 sedan with prem, spalsh guards, trunk mat and nav.

    What do you think??
  • ace2004ace2004 Member Posts: 22
    Loug 35,
First is it a G35X AWD premium.
If it is a AWD GX 2004.......What is the Total Price, if 32,100 that is great

of 31k was just the sedan with premium package not the AWD.

Is $30,000 reasonable price for G35 Sedan with leather, automatic, and Prem in So Cal?
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Invoice is $31223 so you're going to be lucky to get one at $30000.
  • gachangachan Member Posts: 12
I was just wondering if $1200 under MSRP is a good deal for the G35 coupe with premium pkg. Or Should I wait for the 2005?

Any opinions on the Silver vs. Desert Platinum?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I believe the dealers are willing to take 2.5k to 2.7k off the MSRP, I got a quote for a G35X w/navi for 500 over invoice and G35 coupe w/navi for 700 over invoice at Illinois, thinking about whether I should jump on the fully loaded ones or the stripped down ones to save about 2k.

I want to buy an Infinity G35 sedan with a minimum of the premium, but possibly the sport package as well. I am in Phoenix.

I used the Costco car buying service to refer me to a dealer. I started negotiating with him on a G35 with the premium package (full spare) only. He said that the costco price for the car would be 32,168. We worked on it some and he expressed an interest in my possible trade in (B.B. Value = $4000). All I was able to get him down to was $29,000 with my trade in - Out the Door(including taxes, title everything). What do you all think? CAN I DO BETTER? I am seeing invoice at right around $27,500 with leather???

    Any help would be appreciated.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Invoice for base G35 leather is $28466. For premium package it's $31223 and with premium and sport it's $31461.

Its beautiful. Diamond graphite exterior, willow interior, premium package with full spare, naviagation, color splash guards, trunk mat. Its an excellent blend of luxury and sportyness. I am very happy

Invoice plus $1000 with premium/wheels. Fair or not in the SF Bay Area.
  • jaydolljaydoll Member Posts: 120
    kdog,

Sounds like a good deal. I just got a coupe 6MT and the best I could do was $1500 off msrp. 6 speeds are always in short suppy so it's a whole different ball game in terms of pricing when compared to a coupe with the automatic.

    Best of luck

Ok, I've leased my last 8 vehicles. I'm getting tired of it. But, I love nice cars. So, it's a dilema.

    Leasing Cons:
-I drive over 16k per year.
-I get stuck with maintenance on the vehicle just before turning lease into dealer.
-At 3 yrs I regret having to start all over.

    Leasing Pros:
-I drive nicer car than if I purchase

Ok, so in 30 days I have to decide. Should I buy a G35 or lease one. I am leaning toward purchase but it busts my budget somewhat or I will have to finance for more than 5 years which worries me.

    I could just purchase a cheaper car...but then I wouldn't be happy.

Is most everyone on this board considering leasing the G35? I guess I will feel better if I know the majority of people are happy leasing.

    Thanks

Just purchased my black on black Infiniti G35 AWD this afternoon and will have it delivered on 24th.

Paid the price of 36,000 for Chrome Wheels(5),Navi, Premium PKG, splash Guards,Trunk Mat, and Wood Trim. That's $252 under the invoice price.

Thank you guys for all the advises and infos...

    Happy....happy....:)

Finally the post I have been waiting to make. After searching for and price shopping in the MA and NY area, I was able to get the best deal on my coupe with the exact color and equipment I was looking for in Hartford, CT. Most of the dealers I talked to had coupes with auto or the 6MT coupes were the wrong color (silver with willow)with options I didn't want (Nav and Aero). The dealer in Hartford had 3 6MT coupes with just premium and splash guards in diamond graphite/ graphite, twilight blue/willow and caribean blue/willow. The caribean blue sold the day before I arrived. Had I seen it, I would have bought it. I grabbed the twilight blue. I really like the DG/graphite, but there are so many out there. The price in Hartford was the best out of any of the dealers I talked with including the big discounters on Long Island and the self proclaimed largest volume dealer in NJ. The big dealer in boston had a DG/grahite 6MT identical to the above mentioned but with sat. They were dead set on selling me. I have gone up to MA to buy cars many times before because the price is always worth the drive. This time, the deal was taken from them and boy were they pissed.

Any of you shopping for a 6MT coupe know that they are in very short supply and therefore, most dealers don't seem to want to deal at all. Not so with these guys in Hartford.

The diamond graphite 6MT was still there as of today. If interested, let me know and I will email the sales manager's name. Now it's time to figure out how to rotate my arm and shoulder 180 degrees in order to get the seat belt on in this coupe.

I've narrowed my search down to the g35 coupe 6MT, and am in contact with a couple of dealers local to my area (twin cities, MN). Anyone have experience with either dealer (jim lupient or infiniti of bloomington), or have an estimate on what 6MTs are going for in the midwest?

I've got fairly specific requirements (sirius sat. prem package, coupe, preferred color desert platinum black interior). Neither dealer has one One of the dealers said that they could "order" the vehicle from another dealer but it would add $500 to the price. Is this BS?

Also, would people suggest contacting dealers 350+ miles away (Chicago, Madison WI, etc), or do people find it important to buy from a local dealer?
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
$500 to do a "dealer trade" is absolute nonsense. I would advise against doing business with anyone who tries to tack on this sort of charge. I could ship a car from CA to MA for that much.
People pretty routinely buy their cars from more distant dealers. Infiniti dealers have to honour the warranty regardless of where the car comes from. There is a lot of profit in servicing so your local dealer isn't going to turn you away.
Bear in mind that the 2005 MT6 cars aren't even going into production until November so 2004 MTs may become a little thin on the ground.

    Jaydoll,

What is the best deal? I have been given a quote of $1,000 over invoice in NJ.

Anyone else have any experience on prices for used 2004 models. I haven't had much luck in getting a decent price (probably my negotiating skills) on a used model. Most dealers are asking prices that it just makes more sense to buy a new one. Any help is appreciated.

I'm trying to pull the trigger on a 2004 G35 Sedan but the dealers don't seem to want to give a good price.

    I've found a G35x w/prem, wood & aero pkg.
The invoice is around $35.3k and MSRP is $39.1k. The dealer is currently at $36.8k which I think is still too high. This is the second dealer in Wisconsin that doesn't want to discount much lower than $1000 or $1500 over invoice.

Has anyone else in Milwaukee or Chicago area found better deals? If so, where?

    M.
  • pikachupikachu Member Posts: 6
hi, for that specific model, try infiniti of lisle at chicago area, it's around 500-800 over invoice with their internet manager, they are good guys and good with price.

I make MSRP at $35940 and invoice at $32900 so we're looking at $1100 over invoice. For AZ that isn't too bad.
  • bobcbobc Member Posts: 5
I just talked to another dealer, and along with the Premium Pkg
18 inch tire and wheel pkg
    XM radio
They are willing to add wheel locks, splash guards, and tinted windows.

    Again for 34K

Not including tax and office cost

    Now is that better?

BTW what would be a good cost for the above? I am not a negotiator, and I do not want to be raked over the coals either. I thought that I did my homework, I visited various internet sites, analyzed the cost looked at the Infinity website, and I get to the dealer and the prices that I thought were right were too high. What price should I look at to really good price for this rocket?
  • pikachupikachu Member Posts: 6
i get a fully equipped G35 coupe w/ premium, sports, navi, performance wheel package, for 35.3k, which is 700 over invoice, you should do better than this deal, as close to invoice to invoice, since model change is on its way, here is at chicago area.

Brar in mind that in the warm weather states the coupes go for more than in the north and mid-west.

2004 Infiniti G35 coupe in silver/black, Auto(yes i know but i drive in traffic), Premium Package, Performance Package, Sirius Radio, and splash guard for $35,500 not including tax and stuff
    is that OK??

EDIT: i also got the basic maintenence and tire road hazard program
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Please don't take this the wrong way but, if you've already bought the car then I assume you were happy with the deal offered or you wouldn't be a proud new owner. Anyway, seeing as you asked, the invoice on this vehicle is $33049 and the MSRP $36140, so you got $640 off MSRP or $2451 over invoice.

"i also got the basic maintenence and tire road hazard program"

How much did you pay for this and what does it cover?
