My deal was as follows:
I was looking at the black 05 sedan they have with the 6MT. It was pretty much loaded with NAV and when we started talking price, he said since it is the only one in NE like it, and I agree, the 6MT sedans are still pretty rare depending on what you want in them up here, and that turned me off. I hate that tactic whether he was right or wrong.
SO
Off to MA to have a look around. My first choice is Silver anyway since I commute 150 miles a day to Framingham...and didn't want it to look horrible 1 day after I washed it like my previous black cars did.
I stumbled upon Quirk who told me that they have a 05 6MT Silver coming in from port and should be here tomorrow. CANT WAIT.
After confirming it was going to actually come in there, I told the lady it was time to start the price talks. She said she'll talk to her manager and get back to me with a price. She called me back about an hour later and said they will sell it for 888 over invoice, the car stickers for 35090, they will sell for 32995. I was shocked.
I was expecting a fight and haggle, and this was pretty much right on with what carsdirect had said the price would be. No haggling nothing. Puts a frown on me when I think about Nashua and how they tried to operate from sticker.
I have yet to talk trade with them, as I have only put the deposit down and am waiting for it to arrive to see for the first time. Haven't even driven one but I know I want one. My only other choice was the TL and a friend has an 04 Auto I can drive commuting anytime so no sense in both of us having one.
I'll let oyu know once the whole deal pans out how it fared. So far dealing with Quirk has been easy.
I will definitely ask them to not put the dealer badge on the back of the car...that thing is UGLY...I don't want QUIRK on the back of my nice new car...unless there are some dealer freebies to subsidize the free advertizing they will be getting

My 330i was a 2003, Red with black letherette inside, sport package, xenons, moonroof, 5 speed. Very basic and no question, it was a great ride. Felt so nice on the road. Last few months of a 3 year lease.
I am 6' 210 lbs and it was tight getting in and out. Also,I have a 2 year old girl and believe it or not, my wife hated the sports seats. It was small and as you know it came with the usual BMW negative quirks. Even the HK stereo was only OK, single disk player and so on. I also do not like the new 5-series bimmers and the pictures of the new 3 look good except one MAJOR problem. The early reports have commented on the right knee room of the driver. You can see it in the pictures. The center stack is bigger and this was a HUGE problem I had with the A4 audi's. The way I drive this would drive me nuts if it is true the new 3's have this problem.
My new G35 is beautiful!.. Black on Black, sirius sat and bose speakers, navigation and the best part for me.... 6 speed!... It is definately much bigger than the 330i and my wife is very comfortable driving it.
Speed-wise they feel about the same. I know the G35 is faster but since it is bigger the feeling is the same. To the Bimmer it felt tighter no question. To the Infiniti the G35 is much more comfortable and my daughter fits well in her seat in the back. I definitly think the G35 is better looking inside and out.
My trade was a short cover on the Bimmer lease and $2500 down and 460 a month. 39 months 15K a year.
I am looking for some words of encouragement.... PLEEEEEASE!
My head, evaluation, eyes and everything tell me I made a good move. My heart just misses the BMW and I hope I do not regret it!
Auto coupe+premium+18inch wheel pkg+splash guards=$34,000
Edmunds lists the invoice at $33,587 but there is a little discrepancy. For the wheels Edmunds lists MSRP at $900 but the sticker on the car says $650. Whatever the case I'm guessing I made the deal about $800 over invoice or so.
From my site visit, I knew this dealer had a $189 "processing fee". I made sure before I went and picked up and paid for the car that this fee was part of my initial offer. Hence, I paid 34K+ttl= $35139 out the door. All my negotiating was done over the phone and easy to do. Overall, my dealership experience was quite good.
Good luck to all of you and thanks for you help.
I drove BMW 5-series for 18 years and switched to a G35 in December. The G has been great so far. Even though compared more to the 330i, the G has more usable room than, and performance more like the 5-series.
No, they're not the same car, and some things will seem strange for a while. But for comfort, performance, and more importantly, reliability, you'll be way, way, happier with the G. I think BMWs get uglier and more overpriced with each model year. And my local dealership really sucks. I've been to the Infiniti dealer only once after purchase, for the initial oil change, but my experience with them has been very good.

I chose the TL over the G35x for a number of reasons. One caveat regarding the non-navigation, automatic TL: the Bridgestone Turanza EL42 tires are very poor in the snow! I'm in the Boston area and we've had a pretty snowy winter. I've not been stranded, nor been close to having an accident, but that's probably thanks to the traction electronics, common sense and luck...! I'm sure with snows (or even better all-season) tires, the TL would be fine in the white stuff. As all my FWD cars have beeen.
Good luck, can't go wrong with either car.

Maybe you should try and test drive both the RWD G35 and TL in the snow, to be sure?

On to my question, I am looking to buy a G35 Sedan. '04 or '05, really doesn't matter to me. What does matter, is that I would like a sunroof and leather...that is all. Any thoughts on what I can expect to pay in Texas? If you know, I would appreciate knowing how you arrive at your estimate (i.e. MSRP, invoice, incentives, hold-back, etc.)
Thanks in advance.
I just purchased a new G35 Diamond Graphite premium package C with Navi and XM radio. I bought mine for $500 over invoice at Niello Infiniti in Concord, CA.
This was what I did:
1) Looked at the inventory online at infiniti.com.
2) I determined exactly what I wanted (this helped in the negotiation process because they knew I was serious and I did my research)
3) I cut and pasted the MSRP price from Infiniti on a excel spreadsheet and put the invoice price next to it.
4) I went through carsdirect.com and emailed a dealer stating that MSRP is xxxx and Invoice is XXX and based on the edmunds forum I see the avg selling price is $500. The person emailed me back saying that they will sell it to me for that price.
5) I printed the email out and included it in my binder.
6) when it came down to negotiation, there was no negotiation. I showed the sales person the email, she went to her manager, and in 3 minutes they said they accept.
This was the most painless process I ever experienced in car buying. I learned part of this technique from the CEO of a Fortune 500 company I use to work for.
Bring a binder, fill it with information from edmunds and the website, and it will be hassle free.
I love my G35.
04
6 speed Leather
Premium and Aero Package
All Seasons, not Summer Tires (NJ weather)
MSRP $34,570
Selling $29,613, which ends up to be $2000 below invoice, from what I was told.
I thought I would have gotten another $1000.
Salesman was great, straightforward.
Thoughts?
So far I feel good about my purchase.

The car was fresh off the hauler and wrapped up like a twinkie..but I found a problem with the left front fender. There was a spot about the size of a quarter that was rubbed down to the primer. It appears that there must have been a harness or belt or something that was strapped there or rubbing that wore all the paint off that one spot. It doesnt seem like a huge deal, and I didnt get too worked up because there really wasnt anything I could do. THis is the only Silver 6MT coupe around so it's not like I can say I dont want it and give me one of the 10 others on the lot. This place has their own body shop on-site and said they will take care of it, and by taking care of it doesnt mean just a touch-up. But i am still a little worried.
Any thoughts on this? I know to obviously watch for the signs of a bad re-paint. Hopefully they took the fender off the car and re-painted the entire fender, rather than touch it up but still bothers me.
Here are some basic info the two big dealer offered:(The 05 G35 Sedan, not 6MT, not AWD)

West Infiniti:

Clear Lake Infiniti:

First time to buy a new car, any suggestions would be appreciated. I am still wondering what is the incentives this year for a Infiniti G35?
Or is it even worth to go for a 04 model instead of 05 model?
Thanks in advance.
2005 sedan, rwd, auto, brilliant-silver/stone, premium pkg C, leather, wood, navigation, trunk mat, destination chg, with maintenance incl
Paid $35,210 (MSRP $37,110). There were no incentives in Jan and none now that I can find posted anywhere.
I went with the '05 because of the nicer interior,
some exterior improvements & more horses. I've never owned a car with such energy on tap.
If Infiniti had not introduced the M I would have been a truly happy guy. Initially I had planned on waiting for the M but after test driving the G in Jan I just got antsy. I wished I had waited now mainly because I like the size of the M. If I can find a way to sell my G without taking a beating I may go for the M35.
Good luck with your purchase!
First of all, I have to see that this forum is an amazing source of information. Especially so for those who don't have too much prior experience dealing with car dealerships.
I am looking to buy a used Infiniti (yet to finalize the model) in the Philly/NJ area. I stumbled upon a dealership in NJ which seems to be offering very competitive prices on its cars. The website of the dealership is...
http://www.autolenderscars.com/
Looks like they have a large inventory. Does anyone have an idea about this dealership or such liquidation ceters in general? Are there some unknowns that I might be overlooking here? Would love to get some advise before I start working with these guys in full earnest.
Thanks
Unfortunately we are due for 2-3 snow storms this week...when I looked at the car last week it had the Turanza (R33?) tires on it and the reviews of these in the snow on tire rack are pretty bad. I hope it wont be a problem. Before next winter I plan on replacing them with the pirelli p-zero nero M/S tires, but am hoping I can pick up the car and sneak through the rest of this winter without having a problem...anyone else have this model with these tires and driven around the N.E with them?
I have an '05 Acura TL w/Bridgestone Turanza EL42 tires. They are very POOR in the snow (and the TL is FWD!). The traction electronics, snow driving experience, common sense and luck have kept me going, but in a RWD G35 I'd be very careful driving in the white stuff (if the G35 has these same tires). Others on the TL boards have concurred regarding snow performance of these tires, as well as the rating on TireRack.com.
I'm a little upset about the snow traction of these tires as I passed up buying a couple of RWD cars (incl. the G35) because I prefer FWD traction (avid skier, or I was until I became Married...with children. But we're starting to ski as a family and evil wife has AWD truckster). I'm going to continue to monitor them this winter and decide later in the year whether to trade for some better all-seasons.
Good luck, the G is a great car but be careful in the white stuff!
'21 Dark Blue/Black Audi A7 PHEV (mine); '22 White/Beige BMW X3 (hers); '20 Estoril Blue/Oyster BMW M240xi 'Vert (Ours, read: hers in 'vert weather; mine during Nor'easters...)
Great selection. you want a Premium Pkg. it goes for $3500.00 usually your force into buying a trunk mat for $70.00 and maybe sport suspension
for $750.00 which is all not to bad hopfully you get one of the cars that has not gone up in price
you will be able to tell if shipping fee is $590.00 and base price is 30,700.00 that right there will save you $170.00 the new pricing is 610.00 for shipping and $30850.00 base price so they really want to get rid of the older ones they make about 8.8% per car plus some other thing
so if you can take sticker reduce it by 9% and add
no more then 1 3/4% and take their 2.9% for 60 months you have made a good deal. if you trade in do that last and do not tell them. This should work on the sedans I am not sure about the coupes
I was very lucky I got mine invoices + .85%.bought the last day of the month 01-31-05 I got everything on it I wanted. Coupe Good Luck
Also regarding the navigation system, is that a service that has to be subscribed to? And if so, about how much per month?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Anyway, I'm looking to lease, and I was offered this current deal on a silver sedan w/ sport suspension and moonroof:
$1899 down (assuming 1500 equity on my 03 WRX trade, + first month payment of 399)
399/month for 35 months. (it's a 36 month lease, but first payment due at signing)
This was the lease price thrown at me as I was walking out - they started very high and I was frustrated. (I do not have sale price, MF, residual, vale of trade, anything - which is why I'm nervous. But based on a decent selling price, low MF, and high residual, even given my trade in, this seems like a good deal)
What do you guys think?
Are you in NJ? Are you considering a coupe or sedan? I just leased an '05 coupe from a NJ dealer 3 wks ago. LOVE my car and I think I did well w/the deal... an ALMOST $36K sticker - 5spd/auto, BOSE system, sunroof, 17 in tires, splash guard - got my after mkt spoiler included in the deal ($625 value). I'm in a 42 mo deal for $404/mo - ($3k down, incl tax/license/MV)12k miles/yr mileage allowed. Dealer picked up 1st lease payment. Btw, they offered me the same $404/mo for 29 months but with only 9k yr mileage allowance, plus I wanted my 3 grand to work a bit harder for me...can't imagine wanting to give up this baby before 3.5 yrs anyway! GOOD LUCK!
I'm looking at the sedan... Driving a WRX right now, which is a lot of fun, but now that my daughter is 1 (plus the wife refuses to drive stick), I need something bigger....BUT I'm not willing to take too much of a performance hit, so it's down to the G and the TL. The only thing holding me back about this deal is the dealership - the deal's good, but I just feel like they're trying to put one over on me.
I'm in TX...
Thanks for the response!
Anyone know if there's the 2000 dealer rebate still or if there's more (or less..
Thanks,
I was offered yesterday a sell price of 32600 yesterday on a G35 sedan w/ premium, splash guard, trunk mat... 60% residual, .00234 money factor. That's the best that I've seen...
Another dealer quoted me $35,450 for the 2005 AWD with premium c and navigation, which is pretty decent at 500 above invoice.
If anyone knows the March dealer rebate, please do share!
