What color did you go with?
If you get it in 6-8 weeks, you'll probably get it before my order gets pulled. The owner of the dealership and his sales manager are both out today. The guy that I spoke with did not know that much about how to check what orders got pulled last night, but it didn't look good. Sigh.....
of when my truck will be in (F250 SD SC SWB 4X4
5.4) I ordered it 4 weeks ago.
He looked at the schedule sheet and according
to it, my truck will be there 9/7.
That would be 7 weeks.
Problem is I'll be on vacation when and if it
comes in then. Since I did not put anything down
on the truck I hope they don't sell it on me
until I get back (9/13).
I was thinking that if it does look like it will
be there during my vacation I may give them
$50-$100 to make sure they don't sell it on me.
I'm also going to tell them to NOT to use it for
demo rides!!!

According to one dealership here in Texas, they have to hold it for 8 days. They had a red one on day 7 that they showed me (but did not let me drive). You should be fine... worth checking, though.
Although I'm certain the dealer is to blame for much of the delay in the past, I'm sure I'm the top priority now. I'm bugging him all the time. He'll be getting a call in the morning. Unfortunately, I think the delay now is the combo of the DRW, Lariat, ESOF. It appears Ford is backlogged on that combo because of shortages and problems in the past. If there is a DRW Lariat pulled at my dealership, it will be mine. I also think that Ford gives large fleet orders the priority, which means alot of the DRW load is going to make XL trucks.

I haven't called them yet... it's temping to test the waters...

If they deliver it to your home, there will likely be a drop ship fee associated with it. Most fees I've heard of are around $500.
If they are going to beat my current offer by $100, it will have to be $200 below invoice since I am paying $99 below invoice.
Unfortunately, I honestly believe that I am now the #1 priority at my dealership since I have raised so much heck. At this point, I doubt any dealer could get my truck any faster. I kick myself for not pressing them weeks or months ago. I just never expected that my order would keep getting bumped if I played the model customer and didn't bug them. Live and learn.....
But hey, if its possible...
I am on my third tank of fuel in my SD. It is super cab, 7.3 ps, auto, 4x4 w/ 3.73 limited slip, and short box. first tank got 15.5mpg and second tank got 16.0. This was all around driving. Should be better on highway trip. Even so, I just hooked it up to the 5th wheel camper and the power is well worth it.

I simply realized early on that it made more sense to go directly to the Ford Plant to obtain the necessary info regarding the actual delivery issues, even up-front changes that can be made within the infamous 10 day build date. Several weeks ago, someone was kind enough to post a Ford Cust. Serv. #1-800. Well, it only took one phone call to them to realize that they were limited in their knowledge and responsiveness concerning "our" customer needs and problems.
That's when I made the decision to phone right to the plant. As an example, my dealership called me up the moment he acquired a VIN#---he was quite happy and proud--I could hear it in his voice----except that I already obtained that info 3 days prior to his call!!! An old adage----be insistent, persistent, and consistent!!! Usually it works!! Good Luck. JB
For your next update, my order is a 4x4 with the 4.30 (4.10 is the axle ratio for the PSD). I believe stanford's order is also a 4.30 and a DRW.
Airwolf,
My order is the V-10 with the 4.30 L/S, not a PSD. It will be interesting to see if what you heard about how many trucks he has on the lot is true. It sounds a little far fetched. Over 100 trucks? From what I've heard, most of the dealers who have trucks on the lot are selling them for close to MSRP.
Thanks for the upgraded info, it will be in the next update.
longhair 3/30 350 psd cc xlt 4x4 4.10 drw
Two weeks ago, my replacement salesman said that my order would start in the factory last week.
This week he's saying it should start in 2 weeks.
There are 12 other superduty's new on his lot in last 2 weeks, but none are even close to what I want.
I'm starting discussions with a lawyer friend to see how I can get my deposit ($1000) back and go find another dealer.
By the way, Ford pulls orders on Thursday night. If you decide to ask for your deposit back, you might wait until a Friday, so you can verify that your order did not get pulled the night before.
XLT...with 3.73 open rear.
Thanks

limited slip on my truck. The dealer thinks that it will arrive the first week of sept.He is going
to confirm this on friday. That would be around 7 weeks since I placed my order. (SHHH DONT tell Brutus!)
Thanks,
Fred.

I was wondering if there is any one that can post some true milage numbers on the v10 with 3.73 rear end.
I ordered my f-250 SD,CC,SWB,XLT,4x2,5.4 v-8, 3.73. on 6/28 from a local dealer near Wichita Falls, TX that matched Isbell fords price. I might have received some good news today. The fleet manager called and said that my order had been picked up some time ago ( what ever that means) and that he had changed my order priority from 20 to 10. Does that really mean any thing?
It has been over 8 weeks and he is telling me 3-4 more weeks.
Keep up the good info.
THANKS,
chad
Mileage on F-250 SC SD 7.3L with 3.73 & LS.
LA Freeway stop and go in the 15 MPG range.
Open highway t/f Vegas at 80-85 MPH was 17.5 MPG.
I'm estimating, if I behave myself, that mileage should be in the 18-19 MPG range. The big problem is all the power! I play in traffic and really use the power. I must have been one of the Alabama gang in another life.

I have just over 3000 miles on my SD 4x4, XLT, SC, V-10, longbed, 3.73, with 265/85 buckshot mudders. I mostly drive around the city, but I have made one trip to the beach (1000 miles) and I have hauled 5 loads over 2000 lbs about 50 miles each. The best I got was 13.5 mpg going to the beach. The worst I has been about 10.4 mpg (I was playing with the power of the V-10). I have averaged 11.34 mpg for the first 3000 miles.
to update your list, my truck is an f250, v8, 4.10, xlt, supercab. order day to delivery day was 8 weeks. you're doing a great job managing all this info; i'm sure that visitors to this site who are contemplating a purchase get a whole lot more accurate info than they would ever get from their local inbreds ('scuze me, their local SALESMEN)

If your order is pulled, you're home free. It's pretty much clockwork after that. If the order has been pulled, the dealer should be able to give you "build" and "delivery" day estimates. If he's quoting you 3-4 weeks, it sounds like your order was pulled 1-2 weeks ago. If my order is not pulled tonight, I may be asking you for the name of the dealer in Wichita Falls.
If you can't get your deposit back, there is very likely legal recourse. Most states have laws against non-refundable deposits. The dealers don't mention it because it's not in their best interest. To retain the loss, they have to prove the loss.
But the better tact before considering legal action is the threat of spreading the good word about your experience at their dealership, especially as it pertains to their handling of your deposit. I remember seeing a car with a sign in the window that said not to buy from so-and-so dealership. The sign summarized their experience and said to call them for more details. Word of mouth is still the best form of advertising, and the worst, depending on the word being spread.
But remember, the use of threats is the last resort before considering legal action. It's pretty ugly if the negotiations have deteriorated to this level. Try to talk to the owner of the dealership (not the salesmen or sales manager) and remind him that he is making a healthy six figure income, he hasn't incurred any loss related to your order, and yet he is still threatening to keep your deposit.....you, an individual who makes far less than he does and to whom the deposit represents a significant chunk of change. (The sympathy approach.) I'd wait to pull the trigger on a threat until all other tactics have been exhausted.
My reason for chosing the Ford over the dodge came from the information I received hear and by test driving 3 Dodge v10's and 2 Ford V10's. From what I understand it appears Ford has better gas mileage ( I also have a friend who has a Dodge V10 and he gets 9 MPG ) and I never did like stopping for gas so often. Of coarse I do wish Ford had a larger tank then 29 gal. My current Dodge 1500 has an 38 gal. tank and I stop about twice a week to fill up. Now I'll have to stop at least 3 times a week but I figured if I had bought a Dodge it might be 4 times a week. If I didn't have a lead foot I guess I'd get better mileage out of any vehicle.
Now for my question which someone else has already asked, my priority is 10 does anyone know what this means?
If you're getting a 29 gallon tank, you must be getting the shortbed. The longbed comes with a 38 gallon tank.
The 3.73 L/S you ordered with your V10 is interesting, there has been a lot of talk back and forth on whether or not that was even possible. Apparently it is.
As far as the the 4 Wheel ABS verses the Lariat package I would say no, unless that has changed as well. I ordered virtually the same vehicle, 4X4, 99 Sd with PSD 3.73 L/S long bed and while rear wheel ABS is standard 4 wheel ABS was a $500 option.
By the by, I ordered my truck 5/4 and it is due in 9 on 9/14 (19 weeks.)
One thing that I did find out was that my order date is reflected as 7/7, rather than the date in March. When I changed my order from a SRW to a DRW, it required the cancellation of my first order and the placement of a new order. He said that he still considers it the oldest order at his dealership and, therefore, he has given the highest priority, but he said that when Ford checks the orders each week, they see the 7/7 date.
Checksix, when you do your next update, you should change my order date to 7/7.
Even with the 7/7 date, my order is almost eight weeks old. My dealer confirmed that if I decide to pull my order and go elsewhere, he will refund my deposit. I'm not inclined to go elsewhere and start all over. Even if another dealer gave me their highest priority, I'd still be starting over with a September order date.
It sounds to me like Isbell is just way over their allotment. If I was just starting the process and had no order placed, I'd likely buy somewhere else that had a larger allotment, or fewer orders, even if it meant paying a few hundred more. Currently, it sounds like Isbell has 26 orders in their pipeline.
So, the waiting goes on.....
Hey checksix, do I make the list?
........ 5 weeks,5 days to go(out of 6)....
enjoy!
He wasn't interested in fixing it, so I went ahead and cancelled it. They weren't the least bit upset, said I could stop in after lunch on Monday to pick up a refund check for my deposit.
It wasn't just the wait, it was all the stories along the way that took all the "warm and fuzzy" feeling away from this dealership. I could find out more information than they seemed willing to.
As I said earlier, I think they're interested in selling the trucks from stock at list vs. this special order that they signed up at inv+$1000 (about a $4000 difference) And they are selling close to list from stock due to the wait.
Checksix - I guess my first order gets cancelled after 22 weeks. I'll let you know what happens on a new order. Given my position in this dealer's queue, I don't think I've lost much by starting over.
