Does anyone know if the info on edmunds is correct? I havent seen anyone post about the supposed 2500 mfg to dealer support as is shown on the edmunds site.

    Here is a link:

    http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/honda/pilot/100645216/incentives.html?vdp=off&se- tzip=08691&state=NJ

i purchased 2 car packages that are supposed to list any incentives and they listed none, yet this info is on edmunds for free, though i do see some outdated stuff there from time to time, but it DOES say that the support ends at the end of the month. I suppose that could be why many here are getting deals for $1000+ under invoice. Let me know if this is real as I am trying to close a deal.

    Thanks

The best I have been able to manage is $25K + TTL for the Pilot LX 4WD ($1172 below invoice). I am seeing these great prices of about 2k - 3K below invoice in this forum but most of the dealers I have talked to, were not willing to even come close. I have offered 24K for the same car but they wouldnt bite. Any reference of dealerships in the NY/NJ/CT/MA area where I can get a good deal?

I'm also wondering which dealer this was, and what dealers gave you the prices around 27.3-.5? I assume this was through the internet method of contact? So far I am not even CLOSE to these prices....guess I need to throw out many more lines...
  • lok888lok888 Member Posts: 1,788
They were the internet prices. Most are willing to tell their prices, but some left messages. Yes! I got quote of $26.8K ($4.7K off MSRP) for 2007 EX 4WD from Herb Chambers Honda over the phone. Then I went in yesterday and signed the papers. BTW, I wasn't expected a sunroof on EX. I thought it is an option for EX-L. Anyway, this is a great deal!
  • lok888lok888 Member Posts: 1,788
I don't know. But I think I can get one for $1000 to $1500 more (like under $30K) because of the leather heated seats, sunroof, XM radio, and more. Where are you located?
  • enviroag96enviroag96 Member Posts: 2
Not sure how price varies over regions but I was quoted $27,995 for a 2007 EX-L at Mike Smith Honda in Beaumont, TX on 12/26. This does not include TTL and other fees. Price is basically good until Saturday so I assume they are trying to get rid of some inventory before the end of the year.

Of course, they wouldn't provide me anything in writing or I could get a Houston dealer to beat it by $500.

I just bought the 2007 EX-L AWD w/ dvd system for 30,099 including desination in CT. Seems like a good deal. I added towing and mats at list. I pick it up Friday. Did not check Navi price but should be 500 600 more.
  • memphis10memphis10 Member Posts: 161
Can I ask where in CT or which dealer?
  • gweilo888gweilo888 Member Posts: 1
I'm in the San Jose area, which dealer did you use? I think Capitol Honda is a Penske dealer down here.
  • fishmanortfishmanort Member Posts: 3
In New Britain. I did get some adders such as towing and mats at list price but the $30,099 for the EXL AWD w/ DVD is almost $6000 below list. Even w/ the $595 destination it is $5,350 below list and over $1800 below invoice. I called a few other "local" dealers and was only able to get down to high $31,600.

    Hope this helps.

I am in Austin,TX. I have a OTD of $30700 for a 07 Pilot 2WD EXL w/ running boards, backup sensors, crossbar, splash guards. Depending on the prices of some of the accesories, I may cancel them and would like to swap the 2WD for a 4WD (with NAV hopefully). NAV comes with a RV camera, but I dont know if sensors are better options than NAV.

Does anyone know of consumer complaints with running boards? I was offered side steps instead citing that.

Since this is year end I want to buy a car I am hoping for them to make some sort of a "deal" with me.

I am debating between the Pilot and a 06 FX35 on which I have an excellent offer. But the maintainance is high .. what with Premium Fuel, and a tire more than $200!.
  • austexaustex Member Posts: 62
I have a quote for 32,003.73 (OTD)for EXL 4WD RES. But no color options. I dont need the RES. NAV and/or backup sensors interest me more along with running boards. Any idea whichis better . running boards or side steps?

Have you checked with Gunn Honda in San Antonio? If you are interested in someone to talk with there send me an email I can give you the name of someone to talk with there.
  • austexaustex Member Posts: 62
Yes checked with Gunn. The $30700 still beats their prices. I talked with the guy hondaguy mentioned.

    Hi,
Just bought an 07 Pilot EX-L RES for 31,000 Dest Incl. in NJ, TTL was additional.
  • mrc2000mrc2000 Member Posts: 3
I am buying 07 Pilot EX-L RES tomorrow for 31,819 (OTD). This price includes running boards and the dealer is throwing in all season mats and cargo tray. The base price including the destination charges and the running boards is 29,500.
  • austexaustex Member Posts: 62
A 4WD RES w/ running boards OTD for that much is fantastic! I was given a OTD of 32000 for one without any accesories.
  • mrc2000mrc2000 Member Posts: 3
Sorry, it's 2WD. I should have added it in the message.

    Hello all,

Just completed a purchase for a 2007 EX-L 2WD w/ RES (DVD) in the Dallas area.

    $30,400 inclusive of
    - Dest. charge ($595)
    - Running board
    - HPP (wheel locks, splash guards, cargo tray) + cargo net & organizer
    - Tint
    - EPP (treatment only, no warranty)
    - Stripe
The 6-yr EPP warranty was $300 more (expensive, but I had no choice - I have young kids).

Obviously, Tax, Tag & License was extra.

(Honda also gave me a 5.9% rate, which beat the 6.25% Capital One offered.)

How would you rate the price I paid?

    Cheers,
    "Machax"
  • machaxmachax Member Posts: 6
    Hello all,

[Please pardon my ignorance if this is obvious to everyone but myself]

I assume OTD includes TTL and documentation + other fees. If this is the case, why do people list OTD prices when TTL costs vary greatly across states?

Wouldn't the price before TTL be better for direct comparison and guidance?

    Cheers,
    "Machax"
  • austexaustex Member Posts: 62
what is EPP and what dealer - Frank Kent?
  • machaxmachax Member Posts: 6
EPP stands for Environmental Protection Package... a very 'upscale' name for "paint and leather treatment". The 6-yr warranty is extra.

Dealer was David McDavid, Frisco, TX.

Wondering if I made a mistake.

Just walked away from 07 2WD Pilot EX
    Quote 26K plus tax/tag...OTD price 28800.

$700 separated us from the deal.

This did not have the NAV. Any help appreciated.
  • memphis10memphis10 Member Posts: 161
I finally signed my deal yesterday. Selling price was $1000 below invoice at 25,200. Had received lower quotes on the internet from dealers earlier, but when I went there, they started slapping all sorts of fees on top of that. I am happy it is over and I can't wait to pick up my vehicle.
  • paulv1paulv1 Member Posts: 1
mrc2000 what delear did you get this at? I am buying tomorrow from ed voyles on windy hill rd. I am close to your price and was curious if it was the same dealer? They intially said 29500 and then came back to 30200 with the running boards, mats etc. thanks paulv1

I just purchased a 2007 Pilot EX-L 4WD (no RES or NAV) in the Greenville/Spartanburg area of South Carolina.

    The OTD price was $29,986:

    $29,661 - vehicle
    $ 300 - tax
    $ 25 - reg/title fee
    -----------------------
    $29,986 - Total OTD

I knew what trim/color I wanted and haggled for a few hours over the phone with four different Honda dealers in the area until I got them all within the $30K range.
I finalized the purchase with the dealer that had the car on the lot and didn't throw out a lot of typical sales approaches.
This was the best car purchase experience yet.

Could you tell me which dealer you got your car from? I am in the Los Angeles area too. We are looking into the LX 2WD, the quote we've got is $26,116 OTD with wheel locks & roof rack, but we are thinking of not getting the adds-on.
  • mrc2000mrc2000 Member Posts: 3
I purchased from HOnda Mall of Georgia. Actually, about 4 dealers came back to me yesterday saying that they would match this price.
  • enviroag96enviroag96 Member Posts: 2
Got a 2WD EX-L (no RES or Navi) for $30,104 out-the-door from Goodson Honda West in Houston.

After I negotiated the price, they told me the color I wanted (silver) had dealer add-ons (Lo-Jack, Wheel locks, mud guards, exterior/interior protection package, trunk tray, etc.) for about $1700 extra. I said I did not want those and to take them off or I'm leaving. The only add-on I would pay for is window tint and they did that. Tried to sneak in a $595 destination charge also and I rejected that. Here is the break-down:

    Vehicle: $27,895
Window Tint: $199 (expensive but I didn't feel like doing it myself)
Lo-Jack, Wheel Locks, Trunk Tray, Mud Guards, Protection Pkg: "FREE"
Sales Tax: $1756 (deductible for 2006 tax year!)
    TTL/Invoice Tax: $254

Overall, a good buying experience and I would recommend them to Houston buyers. John Eagle Honda wouldn't budge from $28,900 on a similar vehicle without all those dealer add-ons so it seems Goodson wants to do business.
  • newowner4newowner4 Member Posts: 2
I think you did the right thing walking away...I went to Reliance Honda in Lake Jackson Tx-near Houston 22690 inc/destination- lic/reg and fees-225 Tint added free....I also had Goodson North match this price but they seemed too busy/ not interested. People at Lake Jackson went and got the LX in color I wanted- NO changes to any fees when arrived and extremely satisfied with price and experience-- This was 2500 under invoice. Any one not buying prior to 1/1/07 may want to wait until summer if possible- Honda will be offering incentives to clear the 07's and if you go to the right dealer can get at or near 3k lees than invoice. Not all dealers will get 3k incentive from Honda- Thanks to all for the prior posts- Helped me a lot
  • iceteruiceteru Member Posts: 8
Thanks for your comments newowner4 it will save me a lot of money. No problem, I'll wait until summer to purchase my Pilot or other SUV. I watched in the news that car sales in 2007 will decrease significantly therefore the car prices will fall. If someone has more deals in Los Angeles area, please post them.
  • superdavecsuperdavec Member Posts: 2
Which dealer? I am close to the $30,400, but not there yet. I've called them all in the DFW area.

    Thanks!

Did you buy your car last summer or just now?

    Paid $32,000 for:

    07 4WD-EX w/ Navigation
    Appearance Package
    Splash Guards
    Wheel locks

The invoice on this was 31,912. Good deal?

Looking for a 2006 2wd EX-L with DVD in the Tampa area. Anyone have a quote OTD price that's good? Where to go or NOT to go? Will i be able to get an internet quote for OTD price for a cash buyer? Or am I going to have to have a face to face?
    Thanks.
  • joesacramentojoesacramento Member Posts: 24
Not many 2006 models around anymore. Send out the inquiries. Cash, check, financing... just ask for the best price. Once you get some numbers, post back.
  • bcousins15bcousins15 Member Posts: 2
thanks, do you mean inquire at the actual dealers sites? Plug in what i'm looking for and see who comes back with the best one?
  • joesacramentojoesacramento Member Posts: 24
Yes, you can go through the Edmunds site and get their listed dealer responses, or just look up you local dealer websites to inquire directly through their internet contacts.

I'm picking up my new 2007 EX-L 4WD Pilot tomorrow. Offered what I thought was a real low price of $27,500. Was surprised when they accepted! I think going in at the end of the year and low-balling really works!
  • ccacpccacp Member Posts: 117
There seems to be cash incentives for Pilots as of 2007 : 1500 or special financing.

Thanks averagejoe for the posting. Can you please let me know what dealer did you get it from? Zip code would be enough if you can. I will really appreciate it.
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
That quote came from Stockton Honda. It seems that there are some lower offers out there now even in Massachewzits

I am the first time buyer to Honda (well, it would be my first brand new car in my life!). I test drove a Honda Pilot 4WD EX and I fell in love with it right the way.

I went to Edmunds.com to send the request about quotes. I received some quotes from the local dealerships.

What would be the reasonable offer (OTD), and what kind of price you would request (OTD) for 07 EX-L 4WD w/ wheel locks, splash guards in OC / LA, Ca areas?

    thanks

    Hi.

I am in Virginia, willing to consider any dealer in Virginia and the DC/MD/VA area. I want a 2007 RED EX 4WD with DVD/RES. I'd rather have the regular EX version, don't care about the leather or sunroof. Can the dealer add on the DVD and include it in the warranty?

Also, what prices have people paid in Virginia for both the EX 4WD and the EX-L 4WD, with AND without the DVD?

    Thansk!!!!!

My family just got the 07 LX FWD model in LA area, no adds-on, just the basic $ 253000 OTD. We got this before the factory incentive ended yesterday. Doing a search online will tell you how much the accessories cost, and the dealer charges more to install them for you. It is different from your model, but hope it helps...
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
Look back through some of these posts. I had offers of $28,500 (excluding TTL)in N. California. You should be able to beat that price down there. Those aren't high priced accessories, so try to get those with the deal, too. For Tax, Title and License go to the DMV website they will estimate these costs for your county.
