I bought my 2006 accord about $4000 off from MSRP when they had 2007 model in the market. Can I expect about the same price drop with 2009 TL next year? Or is it a whole different story with Acura?

Hi anyone knows what's the current incentive for TL? It's really confusing on edmunds. Anyone has asked dealer about the incentive?

I got a quote last month on a TL Type S for 32990 + doc fee + ttl with special financing. They also offered 500 dollar gas voucher. I asked them to match Infiniti financing at 0.9 for 60 months. They would not do it.

CURRENT OFFER (11/3 to 12/1/2008) as seen on Acura's internet home page:

2008 TL Special AHFC A.P.R. Financing
0.9% APR for 24-36 months or 2.9% APR for 37-60 months

    FULL DESCRIPTION AND TERMS

Special AHFC A.P.R. financing available on all new 2008 TL models. 0.9% APR financing for 24-36 months or 2.9% APR financing for 37-60 months available to customers who qualify for the AHFC Super Preferred credit tier. Example for 2008 TL: 0.9% for 36 months financing at $28.16 a month for every $1,000.00 financed. Dealers set actual vehicle sales prices. See participating dealers for details. For well qualified buyers. Not all buyers may qualify. Higher rates apply for buyers with lower credit ratings.

Offer valid 11/4/2008 through 12/1/2008, on new and unregistered 2008 TL Models and only on approved credit by Honda Financial Services through participating dealers. Honda Financial Services' standard credit criteria apply. Example for 2008 TL: 0.9% for 36 months financing at $28.16 a month for every $1,000.00 financed. See dealer for details. Dealers set actual prices. Limited time only.

Was the 07 accord the new model? Can't remember, but think it was. In that case then I can understand getting that much off. Just like the 08 TL, they are having steep discounts so that they can move them off the lots.

But then again, I did see some nice discounts on the 08 MDX a couple months back when I was thinking of buying one. Also think the gas situation helped in those discounts.

I am also thinking of purchasing the 09 TL TECH. Have had a 04 TL and no car payments for 3 years. Can't "pull the trigger". Hard to get back to making payments again. Do like the 09 though. Still want to drive it a couple more time to get a a good feel for it.

I got my dealer to delete the DOC fee which is really only additional dealer profit. It does not take $500+ to fill-out the purchase documents. My position is that is covered by their overhead of doing business. Every car I buy the dealers try for DOC fees but when called on it they cave. The S is becoming scarce so if you want one best decide soon. The equivalent 09 S (with AWD) will cost you over $40K.

    Happy 08 S owner

No. 2007 was not the new model. 2008 is. I got several offers from dealer at that time. They were all around the same price range.

If I can get similar discount with 2009 TL next year, I think I can wait. But then, $7000 off from MSRP on 2008 TL is just too good to pass.

It's a really hard decision to make. Can't sleep in the night. :-)

You didn't notice a difference in the drive between the two different years? Plus all the extras that the TECH package gives. But then again I have been in the 04 tl for going on 5 years. Probably just seeing something different in the 09 and makes it more exciting.
  • thelinuxthelinux Member Posts: 13
No. I could not feel any difference. Maybe I am not that good at such thing. Heck, I did not even feel any difference between 2008 base and 2008 Type-S in terms of drivability.
I can feel the difference between 4 cylinders and 6 cylinders. But all V6 are felt the same to me. (I don't race. I just drive from point A to point B)

But yes, I did notice the diffrences between two different years. 2009 has a lot better interior and better design overall. I don't need tech package. (What else does tech pack. includes??) My $300 garmin navigator works just fine for me and I have no problem without engine start button.

I just want a luxury brand car with good styling. I considered hyundai genesis too.
It has all the bells and whistles you can ask for these days for a luxury sedan and CHEAP!!!
But it's hyundai and I hate it's styling. I could have considered genesis seriously if I liked it's styling.

Happened to see a new 2008 TL Base at a No. Il dealership sell for 27,105.00 two weeks ago. So would agree this is the best pricing I have seen, but stock is running low on the 2008 TL base models due to the pricing.
  • ddw1ddw1 Member Posts: 5
Did we ever figure out what the post 11/3 incentives were??

I was offered an out the door price a couple weeks ago on a TL S of about 34500 in SoCal, which would put it around 31k before TTL. I didn't pull the trigger, but if I could find somewhere that would give around 32k out the door I would probably go for it.
  • lax29lax29 Member Posts: 42
If you check out the last post under 2009 acura tl, there is a poster that gives a nice breakdown of the differences between the 09 TL he just bought and a Lexus ES that he also owns.

Tech will give you the rear back up camera (all cars should have them). Also if you are into music it will upgrade you to a 440 watt system that will let you store around 3600 songs off your cd's and IPOD capability.

Plus there is real time traffic and weather that is available. The TL I test drove actually notified me of an accident in the area. Not to mention the keyless entry and start/stop function. Just some added toys.

I am not a racer either, just like to know the power is there should I need it.

    I just found this.
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370103779414

This guy is selling this new TL as used which he bought today???!!!
He put only 50 miles on it.
Can this be a good deal?
  • tltypestltypes Member Posts: 3
Which dealer did you get this offer at?

I'm in the market and doing my comparison shopping. Thanks in advance.
  • ddw1ddw1 Member Posts: 5
    Keyes in Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks.

This was back when they had the old incentives, so I dont' know if they still honor those since it's after 11/3.

$30,200 for a 2008 TL with Navi + tax + title + license - drive out was $32.4 in Houston, Tx at John Eagle Acura - salesman was Brian the Internet Sales Manager. It was an excellent buying experience.
  • thecurbthecurb Member Posts: 2
I just bought a 2008 TL with navigation and learned Acura is giving the dealers $3,500 cash back on each car and financing for well qualified buyers at 0.9% for 0 - 36 months, and 2.9% for 37 - 60 months. Good luck striking your deal!
  • chewy734chewy734 Member Posts: 37
I'm not a great negotiator when it comes to pricing cars, so I don't want to come off as a clueless customer in the eyes of the salesman... so, would it be off-base to suggest a price of $28k for a base 2008 TL, or $30k for a 2008 TL with Nav?

Is that a fair price nowadays with the current $3500 incentive and the fact they are trying their hardest to sell these '08 models to clear room for their '09s? Thanks for your help!
  • metalblazemetalblaze Member Posts: 40
I think there is certainly littie bit more wiggle room for you....perhaps $500-800 less or so...Good luck, and keep us posted!

The lowest offer I got is $31,900 OTD for TL w/ Navi. If add pro pack, that would be $32100 OTD. I am in OH, anyone got lower offer? if yes, which dealer?

By the way, is the pro pack worth $200 extra?
  • trueliestruelies Member Posts: 5
    Hi there,
I'm also in OH and quoted TL base $30449 OTD. Don't think that is a good deal though. Lindsay Acura said they sold out new 08 TL. :( Seems we don't have much time left to secure a good deal? Any idea of the lowest price to get a TL base w/out Nav? Central OH here.
    Thanks.
  • liacuraliacura Member Posts: 1
What would be a good price on Long Island, NY for a 2008 TL with 5,000 mi. I've seen posts here where new 08's were selling for 27,200-27,500. Your thoughts?
  • chewy734chewy734 Member Posts: 37
In NE Ohio here, and I was just quoted $31,457+TTL for the '08 TL with Nav, and 2.9% financing for 60 months.

How did you get it for $31,900 OTD?
  • thebouncer1thebouncer1 Member Posts: 6
my starting point was $30,457+TTL for TL w/ Navi.
All those negotiations were through emails.
  • chewy734chewy734 Member Posts: 37
Cool... but how did you get from $30,457+TTL to $31,900 OTD? Isn't tax like ~6.75% for you? Plus there are other fees...
  • mbj92173mbj92173 Member Posts: 2
I just paid 27800/including Lo-Jack + TTL 7.75% San Diego tax, with 2.9% for 60Months for a 2008 base TL. I love the car and I think it was a good deal.
  • tltypestltypes Member Posts: 3
what part of the country are you in and how long ago did you get this quote? Thanks.
  • tltypestltypes Member Posts: 3
Hi. What state are you in and how long ago did you get this quote? I'm in CA and can't seem to get less than 34k.
  • deuces74deuces74 Member Posts: 11
This was a week ago in central NJ.

Hey all, I'm searching around for a base model 2008 TL in the SF bay Area. The lowest quote I have been able to get so far is a selling price of $28,300. I have seen numbers as low as $27,900 on another website for an 08 w/nav so I feel like $28,300 is too high for the base model. How low of a price should I be aiming for on a base model?

Also, I found a link to a consumer reports page on this forum that listed the available dealer incentive at $4,500, however I am also seeing $3,500 mention elsewhere. Which one is accurate?

    Thanks
  • whit5whit5 Member Posts: 65
there is a $3500 rebate and a savings of another $3400, there is also $642 in holdback fees.....
  • thelinuxthelinux Member Posts: 13
I made my purchase yesterday. Bought 2008 TL with no Nav option + Pro package.
    Paid 27050 + TLL, OTD was $29500. Also I got 0.9% financing.
The dealer was in SO CAL.
  • trueliestruelies Member Posts: 5
Good deal. May I ask the dealer's name and location? What does the Pro package include? Can't find it at Edmunds.com.
I'm in Ohio and quoted $28K+TTL on the base model..

    Thanks and congrats!
  • thelinuxthelinux Member Posts: 13
I can't tell the dealer name. The dealer does not want to let others know the deal I got. I am not sure if he was serious though.
Pro package includes, cargo tray, cargo net, mud guard, wheel locks. I saw some dealers charge $700 for them.
  • acuramantl2acuramantl2 Member Posts: 11
may i ask where you are finding this info? all i know was the 3500 dealer cash and the financing special rates available..
  • bobgrantbobgrant Member Posts: 1
    >there is a $3500 rebate and a savings of another $3400, there is also $642 in >holdback fees.....

That's really useful to know, but I'm wondering where on the web these incentives/rebates and holdbacks are listed for the TL?

    Thanks
  • grkmecgrkmec Member Posts: 12
Auto transmission version. Paid $32,000 plus TTL. Putting 25% down, so using the 0.9% financing for 36 months as well.
  • ncali415ncali415 Member Posts: 3
Wait, 3500 rebate + addnl 3400 in discounts? So technically you could strike a deal that is approx 6-7k under invoice? That doesn't sound right...it sounds great, but it doesn't sound right. What do I know though. Anybody out there able to get anything that even approaches this?
  • acuramantl2acuramantl2 Member Posts: 11
6-7k off sticker yes. i dont believe off invoice! i have yet to see where the extra 3400 off is comingfrom. all i see is 3500 dealer cash. does ANYOne have something documenting this additional discount?????
I have been quoted 27,465 for a base tl and 29k for a navi unit.
  • lcmsmslcmsms Member Posts: 1
    I bought a base TL. 26,600, +Tax+Fee, OTD is 28,500.
  • ncali415ncali415 Member Posts: 3
    I bought a base TL. 26,600, +Tax+Fee, OTD is 28,500.

Was that in california? 26,600 sounds like a great deal. Thats about the lowest I've heard so far.
  • chewy734chewy734 Member Posts: 37
That's a sweet price! I'm finding a lot of resistance trying to bargain down the base TL to $28k + TTL in NE Ohio. This is why I'm now considering an '06 BMW 330i CPO instead.
  • acuramantl2acuramantl2 Member Posts: 11
where was this deal gotten
  • 2008stype2008stype Member Posts: 41
Try Rizza Acura in Chicago. They have a good internet sales staff and I believe a lot of cars - maybe worth the drive. I got my 08 S there in April.
  • martin061680martin061680 Member Posts: 7
Wow! 26,600 for a base? That sounds a little low... I was shopping for mine for a month and the lowest that I could find was $27,222(that's Invoice minus $300 minus $3500 rebate). Dealership made about $400 on this sale...
  • martin061680martin061680 Member Posts: 7
BTW. I had a very bad experiance with Rizza! (just me maybe)
  • jgl1jgl1 Member Posts: 1
The 2008's have nice incentives. Anyone purchase an 09 with tech and awd? In the Detroit area they don't seem to be dealing right now. Probably because the awd's just came in. Anyone getting a discount?
