As far as I know they still have the Dodge on the lot as well as one more T&C at the Chrysler dealer. These are at the dealerships on Stevens Creek in San Jose, CA.
NOW, I find this beautiful website completely by accident, thanks to Google, and I've read so many forums my head is spinning. Make a long story short...um, does anyone have a EC number that a mother of three and caretaker of her elderly father might be able to use to throw at Car [non-permissible content removed] to immobilize him for long enough to take SOMETHINGS, I'll take ANYTHING off the price? I get what the MSRP price is, have a vague idea of the invoice price, and have no idea if there's a difference between that and the employee price???? In all fairness, the manager did offer to give me a price where he said the dealership would only make $500 off the sale but he wouldn't put it in writing for me to show my husband.
If anyone can offer me ANY advice, it would be greatly appreciated. If you have an EC number, that would be even better
My only advice is this: NEVER EVER deal with someone you are uncomfortable with. Walk before buying from someone that makes you feel slimy.
Try checking out several dealer's websites. Ask for price quotes by e-mailing them. Whenever I've done this (with both Fords and Hondas) I always am up-front with them. I ask for a complete breakdown of price, and I think it would benefit you to do so as well. On the vehicle you are inquiring about ask to see the:
Dealer's Selling Price (including destination) + Taxes + Any Fees. Get quotes from dealers as far as 100, 200 miles away. That way you'll have some bargaining chips to take with you when you go shopping at your local dealer.
I've used the "I'll have to talk with my husband" many times. It's a GREAT advantage we women can use to our advantage. Is this an up-front deal or are you trading in? I bought recently. They will deal with you better if you go in with your Edmunds Invoice Pricing in your hands. Are you buying off the lot or ordering?
Using the internet as suggested is a good idea. A few salesmen REALLY gave me a good quote over the internet. I was lucky enough to learn about the EC program from this site and managed to obtain one (it is easy because of where we live) so it made it easy for us.
Know your rebate before going in too. Visit the Chrysler.com site and figure out what it is on your model. It might vary by zip code, but I think right now it is $1500 everywhere. I am not certain but I think the areas that show only a $1000 rebate will also add on $500 for "Owners Loyalty" if you own a Chrysler product. Some dealers will tell you that they contribute part of the rebate -- this is BS. The rebate comes from Chrysler alone. Do realize that the "Lifetime Powertrain Warranty" is pretty good, so don't let them talk you into an extended warranty unless its what you want. And you can change your mind at the end of your 3 year warranty and buy one at that time.
Dealers make 3% on holdback even if they sell at invoice plus possible incentives. And there are BS charges on every invoice that we can't avoid. IOW the dealers will make money no matter, so don't feel guilty pitting dealers against each other.
They do deal better when you have your husband so take advantage of the chauvanism.
Be sure to e-mail the dealership which has the one you want. It helps if you request a price for a specific stock numbered vehicle. But dealers do trade cars with each other to secure a sale. If one gives a better price than another, bring their quote in.
I'll give you my numbers. I don't know why you can't do something like $100 over invoice - especially for the one that has exactly what you want. If you order you could offer them the invoice price.
My mini -- All invoice prices
08 Limited Invoice 32,496
Swivel seating 436
Double DVD + TV 1778
NAV 1144
On to that you must add these BS charges
5 gallons gas 14
Owner Loyalty Mailer 25
Metro DAA 305 (yours may vary)
Metro PPA 210 (yours may vary)
Destination 730
To that there maybe slight dealer charges but they should remain less than $100.
Subtract from that the $1500 rebate.
You should be able to figure a similar price for your using Edmunds.
I would be glad to give you an EC number. Unfortunately, I gave my last one out recently. We are allowed two per year to non relatives.
If you'd like I can tell you exactly what the EC price would be. Go to chrysler.com and click on the Build My Own link. Make a note of the specific model, any options, etc., and post it here. Some colors also have a surcharge of around $225, so be sure and include the color you're looking at as well.
The dealer will have the EP (employee purchase) price listed on the invoice. Look for the EP letters, followed by the price, if you can get them to show you the invoice.
Also, if you can't find someone to give you an EC number do some research at kbb.com and edmunds.com and see what you can expect to pay for the vehicle you want. They will also tell you the invoice price, any current rebates and other neat things. I think someone already mentioned Edmunds.
Thanks again to both Tedebear and Maryh for the help
And aren't some of the incentives are based upon you using Chrysler financing?
Anyone?
And aren't some of the incentives are based upon you using Chrysler financing?
Sorry, I guess I consider a "cash deal" one in which you aren't trading something in. I think all dealers like the "straight shot" pricing instead of having to play the trade-in value game. Of course dealers like trade-ins too because they resell your car for profits, but a deal in which the only debate is the price of the car is a sure profit for them whereas a trade-in is not a certain profit. Another thing they like about cash deals is that sometimes they "think" they have made a sale, and then the financing does not go through, and the salesman gets his hopes dashed.
I believe you both are correct in that I think dealers do get some incentive for selling the financing. This happened to me when I was talking numbers at a Hyundai dealership this fall. In addition to a small rebate, there was an extra rebate of $500 only if you financed through Hyundai. I asked the appropriate questions and found that you could pay it off after a short period of time (3 months I think) minus a certain fee, and that is was in your favor to finance it for the short period of time and take the extra rebate, even with the tacked on fee. The salesman was definitely pushing for me to finance. I am sure they do get some bonus for selling financing, or they would not do it. The dealers will have to decide between the value of a sure sale and modester profit verses a questionable sale with a greater profit.
Thanks again to both Tedebear and Maryh for the help
Hulamom -- leave your e-mail for me. I am NOT a DCX employee.
I'm pretty sure that no one here is. The "D" of DCX sold all but 19.9% of their shares to Cerberus earlier this year after they squeezed everything out of Chrysler they could and we were no longer able to support their Mercedes division.
Chrysler engineers are no longer restricted by Daimler being worried about Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep interiors overshadowing Mercedes. Look for some great things coming in the near future.
Thanks tons!!! brandypatrick222@hotmail.com

At a minimum, you may be able to use it to negotiate with a local dealer. Good luck.
I saw you had access to an employee control number. Do you have any idea of how I can get one? Do you have coworkers that have one?
Thanks sooooo much,
Brandy -you can contact me at brandypatrick222@hotmail.com
I've already given out the two EC control numbers I was allowed for the year. Starting January 1st I will have two more available. The program runs calendar year to calendar year. If you can wait until January before buying I'll be glad to help you out.
There's also an advantage to buying after the start of a new year if you live in a state where personal property taxes are paid each year. The reason is you don't have to claim the vehicle on your 2007 personal property tax assessment.

You are my hero!!! I can wait til January, I know my van is on it's last leg, but it can hop til January .LOL
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!
Will you respond back so I know you got this message and I would love to have an EC number come 2008?
Thanks!
Brandy brandypatrick222@hotmail.com
I'll be glad to help you with that. I went to the Build My Own site and configured a T&C Touring exactly as you listed and came up with the same MSRP of $38,685, including $730 delivery.
Okay, the EC price on that is currently $32,684. That includes a $1,500 cash allowance (rebate) plus a $4,501 employee discount. There is also a $200 EC program fee that would be added to the price if you were to walk into the dealership with a control number and were not the employee or a relative.
Hi Brandy,
I printed out your message and taped it to the inside of my locker to remind me each day to contact you about this near the end of December.
In the meantime, you can go to the Build My Own link and window shop. Configure a vehicle exactly the way you want it and post the details and I'll tell you what the EC price is on it today. That may change slightly in the next month, based on changes in rebate incentives or a price increase.
We want to purchase a T and C, I just wanted to know if you might have one EC number left for the year of 2008 that you might be willing to share with someone from the state of Iowa. If you wish, I can be reached at Waterloman@aol. com. Hope you have a terrific day and I hope to hear back from you.
Thanks

I've already given out the two EC (Employee Choice) numbers I had for this year. However, there is a Friends program that you can get in on if you're interested.
The Friends program lets you purchase a vehicle at 1% below factory invoice. They say that can translate up to 11% below MSRP, depending on the vehicle. Each employee is allowed up to 6 Friends program control numbers per year.
I configured a T&C Touring and came up with the same MSRP that you did. The EC price is $31,073, which includes a $1,500 rebate and a $4,217 employee discount.
You can look up the invoice price at Edmunds and take 1% off that to see what you could purchase it for via the Friends program that I mentioned in my last message. Any rebates are also subtraced from that price.
Thanks
I will email you at the address you listed in your other message on what you need to do as soon as I get home from work in about 8 more hours. Basically, I have to register each potential buyer and then the control number is automatically emailed from Chrysler directly to you.
You are not obligated to purchase anything at that point but it's a great thing to have when you walk into the dealership and you know you won't have to sit and dicker back and forth with a sales person. The price is fixed and they are required to show you the factory invoice that came with the vehicle.
I've never compared the Employee Choice program with the Friends program but at 1% below factory invoice it's a pretty decent deal.
Once again, thanks for your help in this.
Well I guess I'll try grovelling some, too, and jump on the bandwagon. I'm 32 y/o and growing up fast; expecting our second child in April '08 so time to ditch the SUV for everyday practicality. I test drove the '08 T&C the other day and, though I can't remember when the last time I drove an American car was, I was quite impressed w/ both its refinement and all those bells/whistles. Looks like this will be the first American car I'll own and I'll be proud of it for many obvious reasons!
If you know any other Chrysler friend who'd be willing to give an EC number away, please pass this along to them, tedebear. Otherwise, I would greatly appreciate getting on your list for the Friends program also. I can't say that I'm poor or anything; just looking for a chance at a great deal. Thanks for any help!
Be careful on the trade-in if you're getting your new minivan at the EC price. They will say things like, "I'm not making any money on this deal and we're just going to wholesale your used vehicle and you cannot expect to get as much for it as a regular customer would", etc.
Dealerships make money on a new car sale, even at the EC price. I frequently get ads from local dealers wanting my employee business. If they weren't making any money off my purchase you'd think they wouldn't want me in their showroom, wouldn't you?
Anyway, do some research at Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) and see what your vehicle is worth before talking to a salesman. Threaten to go to another dealer in the area if they aren't willing to negotiate with you on the price. When you stand up and get ready to walk out of the sales person's little cubicle that's when they're suddenly more ready to talk.
Morning? It's 12:47 a.m. here.
If you're still interested leave me an email where I can contact you and explain more how it works and also how to register you online.
Morning? It's 12:47 a.m. here. Anyway, if you want to wait until January I'll have two more EC numbers available (one is already spoken for). If you want to get something sooner I can help you get it for 1% below factory invoice through the Friends program. I can give out 6 control numbers through that program and I still have all 6 for 2007.
If you're still interested leave me an email where I can contact you and explain more how it works and also how to register you online.
I was just checking to see if you got my reply a few days ago! Am I the EC number that is already spoken for? Sure Sure Sure hope so!!!! I am soooo excited to get a new van in 2008! You are my hero to share your EC number!
Brandy brandypatrick222@hotmail.com
Yes, you have the #1 spot for one of my two EC numbers that will be available in January.
I just sent you email that explains a little more about the program. If you'd rather get something right now the Friends program can get you a vehicle for 1% below factory invoice. I don't work in the sales end of Chrysler so I don't have access to what the invoice price would be. However, you can find that on Edmunds.
The employee discount programs I've been talking about on here can be used for a lease as well as a purchase. If you can find someone to give you an EC (Employee Choice) control number it would be the best deal.
I've already given mine out for the rest of 2007 but I can get you a discount via the Friends program. That will let you purchase or lease a vehicle at 1% below factory invoice in addition to any current rebates.
If you'd be interested in this leave me a contact email and I'll send you more info on how the program works.
I am in the Northeast. The early lease termination is in addition to the current rebates being offered, not instead of them. I was told at the dealership that this is something that Chrysler always offers. It does not change month to month like their rebates. They told me there is no loyalty rebate if you take the 3 month early termination deal though. If you can lower your payment then it probably is a good deal for you. In this case, they were trying to lock me in for another 36 months, get me to put 2500 down, and increase my payment form 399 to 465. No way I am getting out of my current T&C so I can give them all that extra money 3 months early! Is your SUV a Chrysler? Obviously that is the first criteria for being eligible for this deal.
Thanks for the offer. Is there a way to PM on this site? I was really disappointed today when I left the dealership. I went there hoping to come home with a new T&C. I guess the bright side is that I found this forum instead.
