Ferrari F50. Not sure of the year though

That's right , Boomer, this is what it looks like in one piece>

    image

That's either an F 360 Modena or an F430 in the background.

    I beleive it's a F360 in the back.

Also note how wide the rear tires are on the F50. Looks like 2 regular tires placed together. Almost like a duallie truck.

    Details on Straightline.

Where are the rear door handles anyway? I just assumed it was a 2 door at first.

Yes, they also crushed magnificently upon impact. I had one ram the side of my '59 Chrysler New Yorker back in the day -- what a mess....

In the C-pillar, like the old Pathfinders and some early '90s GM something-or-other.

Looks like a Facel Faceila with maybe a Peugeot behind it. On the street in the background there's a Dauphine, a 2CV, and another Dauphine.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,676
Close, the Facel Vega is a 1963 Facel III. The Pug is a 403 Break (note high roof). You've identified the other cars correctly.

Yep, it's a GT-6 but it has no side marker lights, so it has to be pre-'68. In fact it's a 1967. ;)

The red car is a Lotus Europa, early 70's vintage.

No idea on the white car ...
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,691
The white car is a Graham Hollywood, ca. 1940-41, built from Cord body dies. sitting behind it is a MB 190SL, and in front of that looks like an early 50s MB 220 (W187)
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,676
Got 'em all, nice going guys. :shades:

P.S. the Europa is '73 Europa Lightweight (Euro spec model).

You're both a little bit off it's the new 2010 Saab 9-3X which differs slightly from the Saab 9-3 Kombi (higher rider height & 4wd) and the Caddy BLS (higher ride height, 4WD and different nose).

Correction... the 9-2X was an impreza. My bad

The Graham Hollywood, which Fintail identified was not just a re-working of the Cord - I think it was rear wheel drive ( as was the similar Hupmobile ) so it must have been a bit of a radical alteration. Fin mentions it used the Cord body dies, so I suppose they imposed a basic cord shell on a Graham or Hupmobile chassis.

(And it wasn't a pre-war car, at least here).
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
The Hupmobile version was called the Skylark. I heard the Cord body dies were a bit crude and hard to work with, hence the short production life of the Hupp/Graham clones.

    55 Mercury, 51 Ford, 49 Chevy?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,676
Sorry Berri, according to imcdb.com you're a little off on each of them.

The Merc is a '56 Medalist, they say the Ford is a '51 and the Chevy is a '52 Styleline deLuxe.

Am confused. You said he's "a little off on each one", but he's dead on on the 51 Ford convertible. :confuse:
  • berriberri Member Posts: 10,165
Yeah, I got faked out because I thought Chevy had moved to a one piece windshield in 52, but they hadn't. 55 and 56 Merc's are hard to differentiate without seeing the rear. The dual spinners give away the 51 Ford.

That's a Mk2 Golf. Judging by the bumpers it's gotta be an 85 to 89 model.

It has the EuroGti grille and 4 headlight conversion, front lip, aftermarket wheels, lowered suspension, and a single wiper conversion.

Okay, repeat after me. "Photoshop and hard liquor do NOT mix!" :P

On a serious note, I know that's a real car...some kind of custom-built Rolls from around 1955 or so, but can't get any more specific than that. Dreadful looking thing, though.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,676
Yep, it's an '89 VW GTI Mk2 (the GTI badge has been removed.

Yup, IIRC that's a one-off body by Vignale who did some beautiful Ferraris and Maseratis (he should've stuck to them). It's probably on a Silver Cloud chassis.
I think it was at one of this winter's Arizona auctions.

It's a 1954 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Vignale - an odd one-off. The lower half of it kind of reminds me of a 1955 Chrysler.
  • boomchekboomchek Member Posts: 5,516
I think I posted this one here a few months ago. The custom 50s Rolls Royce with a TV and a toilet in the back.

Very ugly from every angle.

Strange looking beast - it looks like someone took an AC 2-litre grille, and distorted it to make it about twice it's normal height.
