Here's a lowline (W110) fintail. These were made from 1961-68 and were extremely durable, especially in diesel form. They are still on the road as taxis in some harsh areas. These were probably very common during the time period you mention.
Here's what came before, a lowline ponton. These were used as taxis too. These were made ca. 1954-61.
That 220 andy posted was actually a higher line model when it was new, and likely was never used as a taxi. The lowline then would have been a 170 - probably too old for the time period you mention. This is a prewar style car made through about 1953 with some revisions.
fintail:
The first pic you have is the big mb taxi I rode to see the Bruce Lee flick. I looked up the W 114/115 220 (probably is the one you posted) and it looked very close to what I remember, but I remember :confuse: the taxi does not have those type of tail lights (the ones with slots),it had the older type tail lights and it definitely had a column stick. But the rest of the 220 interior I googled is exactly the one I remembered. Padded steering hubs, not too many cars have them.
But thanks anyways for your info, I'll know who to go to whenever I have an mb related question.

Might be a later year because of the seatbelts? Not sure when they appeared.

Bumpy, your car looks like a Mitsu or Infiniti. It's very familiar looking but I just can't pin it down.

Indeed, it's a Nissan Patrol of the 1962 variety.

That's correct, it's a '68 Elan Series 4 SE/ FHC.
Juice, IMO the Elan which came out around the same time as the MGB, TR-4 and the Healey 3000 has held up much better than those over time. It's lines are nicely reprised in the current Miata/MX-5.
It's true that the oh so yesterday pop-up h/ls make the Elan seem dated but two round headlights are also passe.

That, plus the UK plates!
No idea on the model name.
Actually, so do the rear fenders, so I guess it is a DB4, converted to a 4 door stretch, with a gawd awful nose grafted on.
I remember someone created a 4 door '70s vintage Vette once. I think it might have looked better than this car!

This is my first reply as Magnette, but I've been here before as Fiatowner, although thats for my work e-mail address, whereas I'm at home on this one.
They made about 55 all told. The name "Lagonda Rapide" harks back to a car that won LeMans back in the 30s.
A-M showed a four door Aston-Martin Rapide at the NAIAS this year.

The tank in the background is a Churchill, ww2 vintage - and its one of ours, old chap.....they built about 6000 I think - most of them were made by Vauxhalls in 1941-43, I think, but to be honest it's just about the only tank I would recognise, as I built a kit of one as a kid.
