There are tons more. People make dumb mistakes all the time. Hopefully the investigators can find something wrong.
It was worth it.
Cadillac Escalade owned by a couple of gang kids (huge surprise) according to the news. This was taken last summer in Boston on my phone.
Websites go to what is happening the most! :P
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
I tried calling 911 when my Toyota took off and would not stop. But the lines were busy with all the other Runaway Toyotas.
2014 Mini Cooper (stick shift of course), 2016 Camry hybrid, 2009 Outback Sport 5-spd (keeping the stick alive)
Dunno, though, lots of Fiats and Ford cop cars.
I have more if you guys want 'em.
So statistically, it seems the chances of getting a bad Toyota are lower than getting hit by lightning.
All mine...
New '87 Camry LE had a leaking water pump - warranty replacement.
'92 Camry LE had a defective motor mount - I think I had to pay for that one.
'06 Avalon XLS had a sticky door on the NAV controls - they replaced the clip. Oh, and the oil hose thingy recall.
'10 Highlander Limited - nothing yet, but it was made in Japan.
Oh....you meant real problems. Like the body rusting out my first new car, a 1974 Datsun B210. My '67 and '70 Chevelles were perfect and they were used.
Well, Strike me Thrice. :P
1964 Toyota Land Cruiser, 3 timing gears and two valve jobs before it hit 25k miles.
1994 Toyota PU Truck, Clutch at 11k miles not covered by warranty. Timing belt 63k miles on me. Engine blew up at 107k miles. (some blame lies with my son) Kids know nothing about vehicles.
2007 Sequoia bad lift gate hydraulics, I live with them. NAV quit at 20k miles under Platinum Warranty. A person would be crazy to own a Toyota without an extended warranty.
The multiple repeat purchases by you and gagrice show they were good enough to earn your loyalty. :P
Happens more than you think in real life.I know a lot of my friends like to talk about about how Fords have improved a lot and so on-- but when the time comes to vote with their wallet--guess what-It`s always a Hon/Toyo !! :shades:
This conveniently keeps ancient history out of the discussion, but still allows me to bash Chrysler and Dodge for the 1995 POS they sold me. :lemon: :lemon: :lemon:
I'm starting a business right NOW this minute. Show me an extended warranty contract for ANY TOYOTA from any legitimate business, and I'll match it and reduce your cost by $5!. No catches, no strings, you save $5 with me over anyone else, and I'll match there terms and conditions word for word at less cost. My business is open starting today! I'm going to be a millionaire soon.
You are late to the scam. Many a poor soul have found out the hard way that extended warranties are not always good when you need them. Just because a dealer sells it does not mean 5 years later the company that is on the contract will still be in business. So when I buy it has to be from the auto company that built the vehicle. In this case I got the 7 year Platinum $0 deductible from Toyota for $1300. If the NAV had gone out a few months later I would be out more than that.
PS
My Dodge a 1974 Van went 9 years and 107k miles without any problems.
I'll tell you the BANK of ANDRES never closes! :P Never needs bailouts either.
You must really be a Toyota fanboy who pretends to be a hater :P If you think their credit is better than mine. ; :shades:
No comparison. They didn't have NAV back then. Though it was as ugly as a Tundra. :P
PS
Did not need NAV. Made several trips from AK to MN to NM and never got lost. AAA maps are superior to Toyota NAV units. And a lot cheaper.
2 Dusters in one family man!
Nowadays it would be tough to find a family with a mopar other than a minivan or the random Grand Cherokee... A family with a pair (or more) Toyota products in the driveway is the new common sight.
I can guarantee you that your share was much, much smaller than the bankruptcy lawyer's share. :P

Toyota Recalls Sequoia SUVs
By KATE LINEBAUGH
Toyota Motor Corp. announced a recall Wednesday of 50,000 2003 Toyota Sequoia sport-utility vehicles over issues with their electronic stability-control system, the latest in a string of recalls by the Japanese car maker.
Last week, Toyota recalled 9,400 2010 Lexus GX 460 SUVs for a different problem with electronic stability control after Consumer Reports magazine called the vehicles unsafe, saying they posed the potential of flipping over in certain situations. The auto maker said the stability-control system was slow to activate in high-speed turns.
Electronic stability-control systems, which use computers to modulate the brakes and sometimes the throttle, help vehicles maintain traction in a turn.
In the latest recall, Toyota said the electronic stability-control system in the Sequoias may not activate as quickly as a driver expects at low speeds. Toyota said there have been no reported injuries or accidents.
Under the recall, Toyota will replace the engine-control computer to correct the problem, which was identified in 2003 among the first batch of the vehicles produced that year.
Toyota subsequently fixed the problem on newly built vehicles with a production change in 2003 and published a technical service bulletin in the fall of that year for dealers to address the issue.
"Toyota is committed to investigating customer complaints more aggressively and to responding quickly to issues we identify in our vehicles," said Steve St. Angelo, Toyota chief quality officer for North America, in a statement. Toyota said the recall was voluntary.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary investigation into the problem in December 2008, which was upgraded to an engineering analysis a year ago. In the agency's investigation, NHTSA said in some cases when the stability-control system activates, the driver loses throttle control and one or more brakes may apply, without the brake lights illuminating.
"Toyota is cooperating with NHTSA's request to issue a safety recall of the 2003 Sequoia," Julia Piscitelli, NHTSA communications director, said in an email. Ms. Piscitelli noted that during the investigation, NHTSA and Toyota combined received reports from consumers of 163 safety-related failure incidents involving the Sequoia stability-control system.
Toyota estimates that half of the vehicles included in the recall have already been fixed based on the technical service bulletin.
Toyota this year has come under scrutiny by lawmakers and safety advocates for complaints of unintended acceleration and has recalled about eight million vehicles globally. Earlier this month, the car maker agreed to pay a $16.4 million civil fine by the U.S. but rejected allegations that it knowingly hid defects.

People do love to complain.
Careful...I've seen 7/100 warranty quote for my Sienna for less than $800.
Betcha the LC and LX are going to be next...
So that explains the two photos showing Gary's Tundra pushing other cars and making them crash!
And it's not even his fault! He's off the hook.
Let me fix that:

So this is sort of the opposite.
Funny thing is that's how I would describe the VSC on my Sienna - it kicks in too early, often preventing me from climbing my snowy driveway. Good thing there's an Off button.
Better ask Andres, he seems to think that Toyota is a trouble free auto maker. Just does not think they are good enough for him to buy. He's never owned one.
BMW AG has overtaken Toyota Motor Corp. as the world's most valuable automotive brand, an annual ranking of the world's top brands showed.
....Peter Walshe, Millward Brown global brand director, said he believes Toyota will bounce back after the automaker's massive recall campaign started to hit its brand value toward the end of 2009.
“It is likely that Toyota's brand has suffered further in recent months, but it is a strong brand and is trying hard to overcome the damage through a major communications campaign," Walshe said in a telephone interview. "All of our evidence shows that strong brands are much more likely to recover from a crisis."
BMW brand's brand value declined 9 percent compared with the 2009 ranking to just over $21.8 billion, according to the study. Toyota's brand value dropped 27 percent to just under $21.8 billion.

I take note that BMW and Toyota are very close in value, and that the next automakers behind them are quite distant in the rankings. I suppose GM and Chrysler fell right out the floor of the survey because of the bankruptcy.
Most valuable brand in the survey is Google. ;-)
Will Toyota get its house in order this year? Or will its value as a brand continue to decline?
