Since I insisted on the OTD price, that is what they came up with. It only took me 20 minutes to get this price, so I guess there is still more room.
I am wondering whether the destination charge, regional fee etc are just another gimmick numbers they ( dealer, truecar...) want the consumers to believe?
@Edmunds and @kbb.com have already update there prices for 2015 from $ 790 to $820 for Accords destination charge. This price change may have just occurred this month.
True car wants you to believe regional fee's of 236 dollars is part of your deal and buy using them there price is the best deal. Dealers are not adding 236 dollars onto your price deal.
since the destination charge was not mentioned, I actually asked the finance guy where it is when I was signing the paperwork. He pointed to the $22586 number saying it was included there. so it is still a myth to me.

I thought the brand new car should have only 5 to 20 miles on it? In your opinion, do I have to worry about this extra 167 miles?
I would not worry. This vehicle probably had a few test drives maybe driven to this dealership from another location or even one of the mgrs. drove it a couple of days.
New cars usually have under 15 miles on the odometer

Their first offer was $25,999 + doc. fees. I refused to pay the doc. fees so they reduced the price of the car by $189 and then added back in the doc. fees. Said they couldn't show $0 on their paperwork.
Dealership was Gillman of San Benito in South Texas.
I bought the same car with same specs the other day and I managed a shade over 26100 including everything except tax, title, registration. They accidentally quoted me 25700 the first time forgetting a fee in there, and I couldn't get anyone else to agree to match that price at all. So for 26000, I have a feeling you probably left almost nothing on the table. Enjoy the ride!

Other factors that will help you make the best possible deal:

Negotiating to the very end of the month hoping your targeted dealerships need to make there monthly sales quotas. The majority of very good deals come at the end of the month.
Buying closer to the end will result in less dealership lies and pricing games.

Hi Vicky, that wasn't the car I eventually got, but I got a bunch on quotes on that car too because that was what I was originally considering. The best I saw--and this was before any actual negotiating--was about 25245 in MD. I also got something like $30 more in VA, if that helps.

Your in the target price range of almost 2k below dealers invoice price. You may be able to shave off a few more dollars at the end of the month but may risk losing out on this model, color etc. by waiting.

I just got a little confused when I saw the range of prices given to me by the dealers. One gave me $19,900 while another gave me $21,600. Unfortunately the one who gave me the best quote does not have the color I want. Therefore I am hoping that the others would be willing to match that quote.

Invoice to 1000 below dealers invoice should be most buyers target price range. This price range is after taken dealers doc fee charges into consideration. You will see some posts where better pricing in other states can be achieved. Not everyone will get a price that low. Don't worry Concentrate getting the lowest price in your targeted area.. The more dealerships you get involved the better you will do price wise.
If I'm buying a 2015 Accord here is what I'm looking to achieve as a target price. .
Invoice price minus the 500 dealer cash incentive ( plus any other rebates and incentives ) minus the 2% dealer hold back on my model then I'm going to minus the dealers doc fee charge.
What ever that total number is represents my starting price range to buy today with all my targeted dealerships.
Honda's.......................... Hold-back is 2% of the Base MSRP.
Use this formula when you have no clue...... What a good selling price is on any new vehicle. With great forums like this one you have a big advantage knowing pricing from across the country. Not only is the above price formula achievable but when you see across the country prices even lower than the formula that means dealers are getting more hidden incentive money from the manufacturers that we are not aware of .................... Lower your offer.
Here is a example of figuring a target price on a 2015 EXL V-6 model in NY.
Invoice price .......................27,890 ....( destination charge not incl.)
minus dealer cash .................- 500
minus holdback 2%...............- 558
minus NY doc fee's .................- 75 .........................................................................
...............................................$1133 will be subtracted from this models invoice price.
Can I get 1133 dollars below invoice in the NY area. Probably not. But this is my starting point and I will work down from this number if it can't be achieved.

The vehicle selling price of $ 29,268 is a high offer ? does this price include destination charge of 790? If it does than your at 2135 below dealers invoice price making it a much better deal.
Note : Destination charge has to be paid by all buyers its not part of the formula. I like to add it to my models invoice price then negotiate that number down with dealers. This puts you and dealers on the same page with pricing making any deal less confusing.
I've been quoted for $21,300 OTD in Houston for a 2014 Accord LX Sedan, with 0 addons... so far it's either this or the more expensive 2015 model, and no one else seems to have it in stock. Any thoughts on this?
I think $21,300 OTD is a good deal. The best I have been able to do for the 2014 Accord Sport is around $21,500. But the tax rate here in Delaware is just 2.75%.

Alright, I just got the OTD but I can break it down with minor accuracy loss. Here it is for a 2014 Accord LX Sedan: Car: $18,900 Destination Fee: $790 Tax (6.25): $1,181.25 Vehicle Inventory Tax: $45.14 License Fee: $77.30 Inspection & Title Fee: $56.75 Documentary Fee: $125.00 This comes out to $21,175, but I'm guessing there's some add-on that's adding $125 to make it $21,300.

It's great looking color with black leather inside. According to dealer, it's the only one in town.

Invoice to 1000 below dealers invoice should be most buyers target price range. This price range is after taken dealers doc fee charges into consideration. You will see some posts where better pricing in other states can be achieved. Not everyone will get a price that low. Don't worry Concentrate getting the lowest price in your targeted area.. The more dealerships you get involved the better you will do price wise.
If I'm buying a 2015 Accord here is what I'm looking to achieve as a target price. .
Invoice price minus the 500 dealer cash incentive ( plus any other rebates and incentives ) minus the 2% dealer hold back on my model then I'm going to minus the dealers doc fee charge.
What ever that total number is represents my starting price range to buy today with all my targeted dealerships.
Honda's.......................... Hold-back is 2% of the Base MSRP.
Use this formula when you have no clue...... What a good selling price is on any new vehicle. With great forums like this one you have a big advantage knowing pricing from across the country. Not only is the above price formula achievable but when you see across the country prices even lower than the formula that means dealers are getting more hidden incentive money from the manufacturers that we are not aware of .................... Lower your offer.

Note : Destination charge has to be paid by all buyers its not part of the formula. I like to add it to my models invoice price then negotiate that number down with dealers. This puts you and dealers on the same page with pricing making any deal less confusing.

This is quoted directly via email. I have not yet negotiated the price. Is is a good price or should I push for more ?
