Wanted to share my experience.
Followed advice from folks here and mass emailed every dealer in Socal. Several never responded some played ball some met my asking price for a 2015 CRV Ex-L of 26,200
My tax title license my out the door was 28895 I was lucky in the sense they had mudguards and came with wheel locks due to dealership transfer.
My logic is price was under invoice by 100 many dealers said no to this. I think it's okay but they tried to sell all sorts of magic to you and a document fee of 80 which I had them reduce the car price so they can include it. They offered extended warranty and alarm system and lo jack for 2500 more which was heavily discounted but I didn't budge on what I wanted to pay. Got a 1.5 apr from credit union which is better than what is being currently offered but they may have matched if I got all their extras... All in all it was straight to the point I don't think I lowballed and don't think I got suckered Honda world in Downey if anyone wants to deal with them. Let me know if I got punked or if it was good deal.
Even the service department was nice and super clean. It is a brand new dealership since last March 2015. So in the end I got the CRV Touring AWD for $31,110 before all the taxes, DMV, dealer processing fee, and destination fee. I would highly recommend them. After we got the car we spent about 1 hour with the car specialist Andy and he showed us all the technology in it. (We have not bought a car since 2006). A lot has changed.
Thanks again!!!! You guys and girls have been wonderful! It is truly appreciated!!!
Car: $31,110
Destination: $880
Processing: $599 (VA is very high)
Tags: $62.75 (1 yr DMV Titling, etc)
Taxes: $1,375.25 (I think it is 4.14%? and VA has a business gross tax of .03%)
Total: $34,027 OUT THE DOOR PRICE
I got 1.49% for 36 months from Pentagon Federal Credit Union - great to work with. Gave me a blank check for up to $30K. No penalties for early pay off.
Please submit a Dealer Review when you get a few minutes. Thanks.
Thanks again!
I am assuming, based on what I have been reading here, that I can get the 2014 for about $2,000 under invoice, and the 2015 right at invoice. And the invoice is about $300 more on the 2015, so that one will come in about $2,300 higher, plus sales tax, my spread sheet has the 2014 at $21,865 out the door, and the 2015 at $24,313 out the door. This is a difference of $2,448.
Next, I used Edmunds to look up used car prices. I looked up a 2011 CR-V and a 2012 CR-V, both the LX model, both with 24,000 miles (about what I would drive in 3 years). I listed the condition as outstanding as I tend to take good care of my cars. The 2011 would have a trade-in value of $15,639 , and the 2012 would have a trade-in value of $16,895. The difference is $1,256. If I pay $2,448 more to get the one year newer model, keep it 3 years and 24k miles, then I will get back $1,256 of the $2,448 difference. So it will cost me $1,192 more to own the 2015 over the 2014.
Looking at financing, 20% down, 1.99% rate for a 48 month loan, I would need about $500 more for the down payment, and the monthly note would be about $42 more.
I’m beginning to think the motor and transmission aren’t that much better. But I’m still thinking …
I have found this practice so prevalent that I now mostly ignore it. I make my offer totally ignoring the "magic nitrogen", and refuse to give any consideration price-wise to anything that is not on the official factory window sticker. This has changed my negotiating tactics. I used to start with the sales price of the vehicle, and only switch to negotiating the bottom line when I encountered ridiculous "doc fees" and "inventory tax". These days, you pretty much have to start your negotiations with the bottom line or OTD. "How much would I have to write a check for to take this home?"
This past Friday, at a Honda dealer, they had a 2014 EX-L NAVI parked directly in front of the showroom entrance, up on the walkway area so you had to pass it to get in the door. There was a big sign on the front windshield, "$25,500". When I stopped to look at it, the small print on the sign said:
+TT&L
+dealer installed options
The "dealer installed options" amounted to an additional $1,200.
I bought a White 2015 Touring AWD model. Overall Cost was 31,650 including Destination, this is the cheapest we could get. He added 200 more for splash guards and wheel locks
Maybe y'all could post some pics?
Could i get residual on 2015 crv exl fwd 12/36 month and 12/24 in Michigan and MF
Also which sites are closest to invoice. Ive seen 26305 up to 27185
Thanks everyone. Im still plugging away
.00160 MF and 64%/70% residual. Do they have many FWD CR-Vs in Michigan?
If you see different invoice prices, you probably aren't going far enough into the calculation. Some sites (including ours) don't add the destination fee until the end.

your help is appreciated.
About the only incentive available is $300 for USAA or American Express, which do not stack (you only use one of the two). Assuming you have Amex or USAA, then $24,567 for invoice.
In Texas, 6.25% sales tax is $1,535.44. Assume another $300 for license plates, title application, doc fees, etc. This puts you at $26,402 if you were getting the car at invoice. So $25,500 out the door is close to $900 below invoice, or $1,200 below invoice if you didn’t qualify for Amex or USAA discounts.
I think the way they talk about it in here, you’re supposed to back out the “doc fees”, so assuming $150 was doc fees, then $750 to $1,050 below invoice.
This sounds pretty good to me, for a 2015. Of course, that would be terrible for a left over 2014. Might I ask what dealer offered you $25.5 out the door?
On Edit: I just checked, and there are other incentives:
USAA $300
Amex $300
PenFed $300
Allstate $300
Geico $300
I assume you can only get one of the above.
In addition, there are $500 loan incentives for recent college graduates and military personnel. In order to evaluate your deal, we need to know what, if any, incentives you qualified for.
This dealer just gave me out to door price..i have asked for detailed break up of prices but he has still not given it to me.
Another dealer has given me MSRP of 23171 without destination . With destination it comes to 24051 this is lowest quote i have received if you neglect the 25.5 out to door quote. how do you think this price is?
I do feel the vibration of something in the seat when I am at a red light in drive but I have my foot on the brake. If no one is in the passenger seat I can see the seat shake. On the drivers seat it feels like you are in a massage chair or the massage chair when you get a pedicure. I do not feel anything when the car is in park
We went to the DC auto show and looked at Acura RDX and MDX - Touring has better safety features then their 2015 models. Also most of the interior buttons and symbols on the dashboard are exactly the same as the Touring
We met a rep for Acura and Honda and he said Honda tests new stuff especially new safety FIRST on Honda's and then if it works or popular they put them in the Acuras - FYI. I did not know this at all. I think he said Lexus and Toyota it is reserved. I will say if you are looking to buy a car go to your local car show if you have them because it helps a lot to see if you physically like the car without going to the dealer. Being short it was hard for me to get into some of the cars/SUVs. Also some cars now are VERY low to the ground. To hard to get in and out of.
Hope the photo attachment works. I might have to send several posts.
Sorry if I am not posting the photos correctly. Also, sorry it has taken me so long to post these for you. Please let me know if you can see them. Thanks. Here are some more. This is the last batch of them. Thanks!

You should be able to get invoice price to 500 below that in NJ. Check out the CRV lease forum to see who leased in your area.

The dealer I bought the 2012 from is anxious to get this car back to re-sell. Here is what he's offering me: $1300 "net trade as cap reduction" on the new car.
Could anybody walk me through how to evaluate this deal?

Total drive off: 1915.24, cash req on delivery 597.16
Tax: 9%
Fees: doc 134, regis 36, Lic 28, title 50, encumbrance 5, online reg 10.50
My market is SW Pa, Westmoreland county.
Time frame: this month, feb 2015.
Thanks, all!
You may have lots more equity in your current car than the dealer is giving you - that's why he is so anxious to get hold of your car so he can make juicy profit when he resells it. What is the residual on your current lease? Head over to the "Real World Trade in Values" discussion to get an honest appraisal of the trade value of your current CR-V.

Currently I have a 2012 honda accord SE trim, which I pay for $220 a month (put $1k at signing as well).
And what color is looking good in snowy Mass?
On a side note: a few of the dealers who wouldn't negotiate at year-end are now calling again... I'm guessing they know what inventory they will be receiving, too, and are more interested in negotiating.

Were there any option included in base price of 24,437? Did you take any options and how much you paid for that. I will appreciate your response.
