(First post) Please help with leasing - totally new to it and in addition to validating my match, need to understand what I am missing. I am getting a lower number than the dealer!
Looking at a 2016 A6, 3.0T Premium Plus for 36 mo at 12K miles per year
MSRP: $56,300 Prior car ownership - discount: $1,750 Cap Cost: $54,550 Down Payment: $3,000 Net Cap Cost: $51,550 MF: 0.00089 Residual %: 55
Quote: $679.41 per month $3,731 at signing in including initial payment First service at 15K covered
1) Do I have any control over MF? I have tier 1 credit rating.
2) Is the Residual % decent for 12K per year - 3 years?
3) I get a lower cost of leasing. Not sure what I am missing. Here is my calculation:
Sticker Price: 56,300 Cap Cost Reduction: 1,750 Down Payment: 3,000 Net Cap Cost: 51,550
Residual Value: 55% of 56,300 = 30,965.00
Depreciation Fee = (51,550 - 30,965)/36 = 571.81 Finance Fee = (51,550 + 30,965) x 0.00089 = 73.44 Total monthly payment: $645 Difference in amount from what the dealer gave: $34
What am I calculating wrong?
4) They also came up with an initial payment of 3,731 which they said included my first payment too. Not sure how they came up with that number. I thought Audi made the initial payment.
5) Also, how are the taxes calculated? Is it off the entire lease amount or part of it (the residual amount)?
6) Are there any other incentives? For eg, BMW adds in all services free.

1. .00069 and 55% are the lease numbers this month. Dealer is allowed to mark up the MF for extra profit. 2. Residual is set by the bank and cannot be altered. 3. My guess is that the entire $3000 cash at signing is not going to down payment - other fees and taxes are covered 4. I'm not aware of any incentive where Audi makes the first payment. You are responsible for the bank fee, dealer fee, first payment and any license or tag costs 5. What state is this? Sales tax obligation varies by where you live. 6. No incentives that I am aware of.
Just wanted to confirm the current cost per mile on an Audi A6 for a 36 month lease. Was told cost per mile at inception was 15 cents per mile. At the 18 month mark you could buy additional miles at 17 cents per mile and that any overage at the end of the lease term would be charged at a 25 cents per mile rate. Is that correct and are these rates non-negotiable?

I agree with the .15 up front and .25 at the end of the lease, but my numbers show that to buy miles during the lease they are charged at .20/mile, not .17.
Need help w/MF and Residuals for 24 mos/12k and 36 mos/12k for a 2016 A6 TDI Premium Plus; I also need to know whether I qualify for the AFS incentive (I am currently not an AFS customer, own a BMW) but will lease the A6 through AFS. Thanks.

Could someone provide some feedback on the below offer?
2016 Audi A6 3.0 TDI Prestige
MSRP $67,756
$66,756 Cap Cost
$168 Doc fee
$695 Acquistion Fee
$36062.50 Residual
.0014 Money Factor
$1,000.00 Incentive
36 Month Lease at 15K a year:
$6,193 Due at signing
$972.93 Monthly Payment
Also does a $4,330 rent charge sounds fair?
Base MF is .00092 so that is marked up.
What is the breakdown of the $6193 due at signing?
@mjordan The rent charge is the total finance portion of the lease. So, if they mark up the money factor, that number gets bigger and results in a higher payment.
Please help to review the offer I got from dealer this weekend. The number matches what I calculated using APP. I am about to pull the trigger next week. Do you think that it’s a good or fair deal? Thanks!

Hi There,
Do you mind sharing the dealer name with me. I live in NJ (Morris County) and looking for a deal on A6 3.0. Btw, did you get a color of your choice or whatever the dealer had in lot?

My payment is only .01 off yours (rounding error, I suspect).
Only way to make this a better deal is to negotiate more off the sticker price.
This is NJ state (where both cookieyh and I live, so I'm using 7% sales tax).
Please see the attached pic where I have put all the numbers in a spreadsheet and numbers in column A reference the calculations you mentioned in your link.
As per my calculations, monthly payments before tax = $721.03 and with tax = $765.87

You're not doing anything wrong ... when I use those same numbers in my spreadsheet, I get $721.03/mo as well.
@zeekaynj The lease calculator is not calculating tax properly for NJ. NJ taxes are paid upfront, and note that the OP has already added that amount into his CAP cost. Use the full CAP cost including tax, and leave out the tax below, and hopefully the calculator comes up with the same amount.

@zeekaynj If you plug in the tax on the CAP cost (which you should), then you have to leave the tax section blank at the bottom.
It's a "dumb" calculator. It doesn't know how to calculate tax, unless it's a straight monthly payment calculation (which doesn't apply to NJ).
@kyfdx The E15 cell in the spreadsheet does not have any tax added to it and it comes out to be $771.88. This is nowhere close to the $726.31 as per original post?

Are you using the lease calculator, or are you actually calculating it yourself? If you calculate it yourself, I can show you what you are doing wrong.
The lease calculator is not transparent, and we don't use it to calculate the payments. I can't fix that.
Hello Kyfdx - Can you please share the MF and Residual for a 2016 S6 Premium Plus....Looking for 24 and 36 month with 10K miles... (south Fl area)

I just recently leased an Audi A6 Prestige with the optional Black Optic package and the 20" 5-double-spoke design wheels. I am just wondering if you folks think I got a good deal (I thought I did, given that the MSRP after the various rebates and concessions I received was $58,000). I paid $2,500 to drive off the lot, which includes the first month's lease payment, tax, title, etc. I estimate that I put approximately $700 "down." My monthly payment is about $720, 42 month lease, $10K annually. I am located in Los Angeles.

Many thanks in advance for any thoughts/comments.
If $58,000 was the selling price, what was the window sticker amount?
Thanks. Typically, do residuals increase or decrease over time when a new model comes out? Also, any lease cash being offered currently?
No lease cash.
Logically, you would expect the residual to start out higher at the beginning of the model year and go down; however, manufacturers and their banks don't always use logic when setting their lease residual values. They might be artificially inflated to help sales.
One last question: In negotiating, I have an uncle who works for Audi so I can get the "Friends and Family" discount (Dealer Invoice +$300 - any and all retail incentives) = Purchase Price. That's going to be the rock bottom price I would assume, probably not much I can negotiate from that?
Thanks again for all of your help and quick responses.

I don't track selling prices, so can't tell you if that's as good as you can do.
Generally, we believe 4-6% off sticker is a pretty decent discount for Audi. Any sort of supplier or 'friends and family' pricing will probably be in that ballpark.
Sup folks , Would you mind tell me the money factor and residual of an A6 2.0T premium plus 36 month / 12K mile lease? I know thanksgiving day is coming. Should i wait to get a good leasing deal for the 216 A6 2.0T premium plus?

What do you think of the MSRP?
NY taxes the sum of the payments up front - you can choose to pay that amount at the beginning of the lease, or add it to the selling price.

Generally, we believe 4-6% off sticker is a pretty decent discount for Audi. Any sort of supplier or 'friends and family' pricing will probably be in that ballpark.

Can you please provide me with the RV and MF for a 2016 S6 Premium Plus?

What is the maximum number of MSDs that one can use for Audi Financial? How much does each MSD reduce the MF?
Don't have info on a 27 month plan, but 30 month residuals are 4% lower.
Sorry, but I don't have the specific info for the Audi MSD program.
