I could go on and on, but it is a never-ending enslaught.

I keep getting calls from the IRS telling me they are sending the police to arrest me.

I bought doughnuts for the police for when they arrive.

Anywho...a guy up the street just drove past with a MB CLS550 in bright red. I'm not a fan of the styling of most MB's, but this one was pretty sharp I thought.

Obviously all Shell gas has to pass certain minimum quality standards, including those additives. They do say they have more "good stuff" than competitors (they of course won't say which ones). Regarding direct injection cars, I'd think keeping those clean may be even more important than the intake valves, but all the examples are showing port injection valves for some reason. Perhaps it's more dramatic.

The most dangerous are phishing scams sending you "account update" requests (Your account has been suspended. Click here to update). They're getting better and better in this.

As to those phishing scams, what I laugh at is when I get them emailed to me from “Chase”, “Wells Fargo”, “US Bank” and “Bank of America”. I don’t have any accounts with those banks.

And if you read each email carefully, there is always a grammatical error or missing comma or a lack of noun/verb agreement. Furthermore, the message is articulate in insisting that you update your info by clicking on their own hyperlink - and not by going to your regular App.

I got caught in a scam from a group posing as Norton Virus. I learned my lesson on that one.

Just remember to contact your bank or Microsoft or Norton directly.

I keep trying to tell the Microsoft scam people that I don’t have a computer so how can they determine that I have a virus!

I had a couple of those - a Gray CLS550 and a White CLS400. Beautiful cars, but very low to the center of gravity. Not the car for 6’2” or taller drivers - kept hitting my head on the roof even when the seat was set low and very difficult to get in and out of for older guys. But the car was powerful and handled like a sports car. But you have to get the rear spoiler - otherwise it has an unfinished look in the rear end.

I think that might be "Cardinal Red" - you could also find it on a normal E-class sedan, but it is uncommon. I think it would look good with a light interior.

CLS is a little claustrophobic for me, but something of a mild modern landmark design - it has encouraged every modern 4-door "coupe".

At least some part of the 2008 economic bomb was hastened by the speculative spike in gas prices during the summer of 08. I recall paying nearly $5/gallon for premium then.

my wife of 21 years ( as of yesterday

) got one of those Microsoft scam calls and passed it off to me. The first thing I said was "bye" then I hung up. They had the nerve to call right back saying that if we didn't give them access to our computer they would shut it down. I said do what you have to do and hung up.

How about Cabernet Red Pearl like my '09 Genny. Every time I just about have myself convinced that the Empire State Grey (old mans charcoal grey) on my '15 Genny is nice, I see a burgundy colored car go by or a used to be poster buddy comes along and posts a nice looking burgundy car. I think you should get back to your grass cutting duties. I see a spot you missed. :@ :@

When I first glanced at the E Class Sedan you posted, I thought at first it was a twin to my Gray S450. Side-by-side, you can tell the difference - but it’s hard by itself.

MB is definitely using a "same sausage different lengths" sedan design ethos, similar to what BMW and Audi have used for years.

One key differentiation, apart from the headlights, is the upper side crease.

I agree, the E looks like an S and a C looks like an E....hard to tell them apart. When Ford had the Comet T-Bird owners complained they looked like their more expensive T-Birds. But no one complains about their S looking like a C. It is kind of a subtle way of showing we don't care.

Now this is the car I like....nice and square with large windows....only $312000 USD

I have to admit, I didn't even look at the interior. Mostly because I don't care about interiors, but I already got in trouble for that before.

I used to get the heebeegeebees driving over the 59th Street Bridge in NYC (aka Queensborough Bridge) and the Brooklyn Bridge. They are so old and over-burdened in my opinion. The 59th Street Bridge used to have only one 3-lane access each way - now it has 2-decks of traffic - never built to handle that much. Same with the GW Bridge. It’s the old bridges that scare me.

Mackinac Bridge is great, just because of the effort to build it.
Was hoping to get across it in August, but it's not going to happen.

The only fuels I'd worry about would be the small station types who were alleged in the past to buy fuel on a spot market and they sometimes purchased fuel that was aged or below specs from suppliers who had to move it out of their inventory. I don't see those kind of stations in this area any more. Ohio doesn't have fuel testing while almost all other states do: proof of what good lobbying money can buy in our own version of deep state corruption here in Ohio--banking and insurance being primary.

I suspect most brands of fuel put the same additive package into their regular unleaded as they do in their premium fuel. Again, the advertising sells people on what they what to hear and to think they are buying. Top Tier did that for a while.

I asked my service manager if they had to do any special cleaning for their direct-injected engines due to low quality fuels. His answer was "No." My Malibu 2.5 is DI and I thought my Cruze that is my son's was DI when I asked.

I think this is a good job for Consumer Reports to put an end to the speculation.

They could control all variables and run several different DI car engines (but 2 of each), with the only difference being one is run on bottom-tier gas, and the other on top tier gas. Let's see which is dirtier and needs more frequent cleaning and walnut blasting. If there is no discernible difference, CR can advise it is all snake oil.
I'm puzzled by the use of DI engines that need expensive matainance. The local BMW store reccommends walnut blasting every 30k miles. This requires removing the heads, I understand, a $1500 service. That's just crazy.
There were some issues with some DI motors but most issues were sorted a decade ago. There are a bunch of flaky Luddites who run scared when DI motors are mentioned, and a lot of those old women hang out over on the Bob is the Oil Guy forums- lamenting the demise of hand crank starters, distributors, sealed beam headlamps, and carburetors.

My 2007 MS3 had a DI turbo and I never had the valves cleaned- it was running great at 158k when I sold it. The N55 in my 2er is also a DI turbo- it's running great at 40k- ditto for the NA DI motor in the Clubman at 110k.

And whoever told you that the heads have to be removed for walnut blasting is either terminally misinformed or attempting to screw customers- only the intake has to be removed. And I know my store never recommended a 30k walnut blasting service.

I'm probably misremembering what parts had to be removed but I know the service interval is what a local dealer was recommending. A local talk personality does fake "interviews" aka commercials and they discussed walnut blasting at length.

Court Case Update:

My attorney in San Diego appeared at court and motioned for a change of venue, which the court granted. The Judge also removed the license suspension.

It is a shame I had to hire an Attorney just to get the Court to do the right thing.

At the bottom of my lawyer's email it says this:

Thank you for the opportunity to be of service. If we have served you well, please leave positive remarks on AVVO or Yelp.

Being as the Change of Venue was the dearest part of this case to my heart, I'm a happy camper. I basically feel like I've won my case, and the results of the actual trial at the County Seat can only be gravy at this point.

I do like my gravy at Thanksgiving!

When one of my kids was working a company that did marketing for BMW, she spent a week at BMWUSA hq in New Jersey.
They had a car covered up in the main lobby.
After a few days, it was unveiled, a new Rolls Royce, and they let everyone get their picture taken in it.
All the other people got their pictures taken at the wheel.
She got hers taken sitting in the back. When questioned about it, she said if I'm going to sit in a Rolls Royce, I'm going to have someone drive me.
Later that year, they went to an event at Hilton Head and the head of BMWUSA asked her to watch over the keys for the 3 new Rollers on display.
She sent us a picture of the keys with the comment, I'm holding the keys to about a million dollars!

I would think that GG would consider profanity in describing his Caddy to be appropriate
