Thanks Oldfarmer. Still looking. I haven't looked at a lot of Altimas, but it certainly fits the criteria for the type of car I'm looking for. I had a 1994 Altima...back in the day. What are your thoughts on that 2012 Altima that you posted from Craigslist? Title says clean. But $6,200 for a 2012 in "perfect"condition sounds too good to be true.

Big problem is why does it look blue/gray in some pictures and dark charcoal in others?

Hopefully not a flood car - had to add that or it wouldn't be me.

Actually looks pretty good, inside and out. Didn't someone say 90% of the cars listed on CL are not legit?

This past Friday was our youngest's pre-school graduation, from the pre-school my sister, brother, and myself went to no less. For his "graduation" gift he wanted to go to a Pirate game so we pulled out all the stops and rode the light rail downtown and took the riverboat over to the stadium. As luck would have it it was a fireworks night so he was over the moon happy with the entire night.

Off to kindergarten next fall....I can't fathom where time is going anymore.

Mazel-Tov! It is INSANE how the time zips by at warp speed. My youngest (our only daughter) is 6 1/2 & starting 2nd Grade next year.

Glad he liked the game. That division is turning out to be pretty tight, 3 teams tied for 2nd place and only a game and a half behind Milwaukee. Could be an interesting summer for baseball.

Laundered drug money is pretty much what financed downtown Miami highrises back in the 80s, wasn't it?

There's a new generation of somewhat similar stuff going on out here, maybe not from the same source, but not necessarily on the up and up. There are areas around me where half of sales are to offshore cash buyers. Then the properties sit vacant, adding insult to injury in a housing crisis. Local and national authorities always seem to need revenue, IMO it's far past time to tax the living daylights out of such "investors" (as there's zero chance "vetting" will ever take place, might as well put some of the dirty money to good use). Vancouver has had a money laundering issue in its real estate market for some time, and recently implemented a small tax - but I think more is needed.

What’s the way up in Albany this past weekend came home late last night at my sisters college graduation thought I was originally going to come home today so had taken the day off or well enjoying it finally beautiful weather as of yesterday afternoon after all that rain we had here in the Northeast the past week rained at the graduation yesterday luckily they had to indoor places to go and listen or watch it so that’s what we did was a good weekend overall

I had a new Altima as a loaner. Not horrible, but nothing special. I'd much rather have a Civic or Accord.

Grandson #1 is 16, has his drivers permit and was confirmed yesterday. Our garbage pickup is Monday so that means I put the garbage out on Sunday night. Lately it seems like every other day is Sunday night. It's true, time flies by the older you get.

@abacomike knows what I mean but he has a tasty bottle of Scotch to get him through it. Getting older is enough to make a guy drink.

BTW, what happened with the election? I don't remember seeing anything in here about that. Please don't tell me that one of my best parts is on its way out.

Yes, I meant "falling" as I tend to do that lately. Will get my cane back once I get out of the walker. But for now, the walker is my 1st choice for walking. The added stability is just what I need.
Once I get back on my cane, it'll be time to go back to work. Planning on the end of June or mid-July return date but will listen to my doctors and do as they say. As of today, I still have a job waiting for me.

Just fly into FLL with buckets and siphons. Flooding all over Broward County. The drainage canals that act as aqueducts for water from the Everglades to the Atlantic Ocean fill up quickly and then flood streets.

Mt. Everest is the highest mountain in the world, about 8500 meters above sea level. Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the world, about 4500 meters above sea level, but, being an island, there is another 5500 meters below sea level. Measured from it's base on the ocean floor, Mauna Kea is over 10,000 meters tall.

I solved that dilemma by taking my share of Fridays off in the Summer.

Before I retired I had 6 weeks of vacation. That was more vacation than I could afford, hence the Friday thingy. Sure we took a couple of weeks off for a typical vacation like most other families but there was no way I was going to let Mrs. j think that we should do more of that. It worked and I never heard any complaints.

Now don't be a wise guy and say something about Thursdays because I did a few of them too along with Fridays, even threw in a Monday or two a couple of times. Long weekends were great.

I have to agree - 14 times for this year. Our garbage day is on Thursday, and Wednesday night seems to come around real fast every time.

Here is some unsolicited advice from an old man to you young guys with kids. If you don't know how to play golf, learn to play and then teach your kids to play. This way you can "play" together for a lifetime. My oldest son just turned 50 and he is driving over from St. Louis next week for a round of golf with me. Letting the little ones drive golf carts (with supervision) also gives them a head start learning to drive.

It's bittersweet because for us this is the child who, in all likelihood, is going to be the one that gives us many "lasts" (last preschool graduation, last first/last day of kindergarten, etc.) so we're cherishing these moments as much as we can. Time has certainly flown by.

We're treating things with Sam as the first/last experiences. There are no guarantees we can have a second child, in fact odds are stacked against, even though we would like one.

I've been putting as much emphasis on the life part of work/life balance as I can and am very lucky to have a job where that is possible.

Chimbarozo in Ecuador is techinacally taller than Everest. Due to the rotation of the earth the earth budges at the equator. Because of this the peak of Chimbarozo is further away from the center of the earth than Everests peak.

My son was the last one to be able to carry on the family name. We were afraid he was never going to get married and then we were afraid he was never going to have kids. Finally the (grand)son we were waiting for arrived. Notice the Pirate shirt and they live near Baltimore.

Measured from it's base on the ocean floor, Mauna Kea is over 10,000 meters tall.

Chimbarozo in Ecuador is techinacally taller than Everest. Due to the rotation of the earth the earth budges at the equator. Because of this the peak of Chimbarozo is further away from the center of the earth than Everests peak.

I learn something new here on Edmunds every day that expands my horizons, not to mention my repertoire of topics of conversations when I am in social gatherings. I can’t wait to try to bring up this topic of elevations of mountains and volcanoes with some of my 85 year old neighbors just to see them scratching their heads and whispering to each other, “...what did he say was the reason Mt. Chimbarozo is taller in that if you stand on it you are closer to outer space, because the earth is slightly wider (13 feet at the circumference) so Chimbarozo is slightly higher above the earths surface. It is 3,971 miles from the earth’s center compared to Everest’s 3,965.8 miles. We are talking less than 7 feet here.

Don't mention it to your 85 year old neighbor, you will probably upset them.

Wait, the difference between 3,971 miles and 3,965.8 miles is less than 7 feet? No wonder I get lost all the time.

Actually it's a difference of about two miles, 3,965 vs 3967 miles. I just looked it up.

Thanks Oldfarmer. Still looking. I haven't looked at a lot of Altimas, but it certainly fits the criteria for the type of car I'm looking for. I had a 1994 Altima...back in the day. And yeah, the thing I remember most about it was it handled really well and had some good 4 cylinder pep to it. Kind of wish I'd have gone ahead and bought that 2010 Milan. Haven't seen any close to it since. Actually haven't seen anything on Craigslist that hasn't raised at least one eyebrow.

What are your thoughts on that 2012 Altima that you posted from Craigslist? Title says clean. But $6,200 for a 2012 in "perfect"condition sounds too good to be true.
