The car has had issues and with the 36k warranty almost up 9 months early, we're nervous of having an uncovered problem with the vehicle. (We were originally planning to buy off the lease.) Knowing that, you'd still wait out the lease over the miles now, taking the repair risk? Thanks! Jay
People lease Hondas all the time with 45K mile allowances. I've done it three times, myself.
It can't hurt to give the used car manager a shot at it, and see how their offer lines up with the current payoff. But, if it's any substantial amount of negative equity, just keep driving.
I know you don't have 2019 numbers yet, but today I was quoted 61% RV and 0.00240 MF on a 2019 Pilot Touring (8 seats) in Eastern MA. The RV sounds ok to me, but the MF seems high to me compared to the 0.00159 quoted for the 2018's. Does a jump that big make sense to you or could the dealer be increasing that amount to pull out a bit more profit? It comes out to +/- a $60/month difference.

That is the standard MF from Honda, so it does make sense.
Honda is promoting the 2018's, so the MF will help with that.

.00100 MF 60%/59% residual for FWD/AWD $1300 incentive
The LX, EX and EX-L all have the highest residual. 1% lower for AWD Higher trims, and Honda Sensing models have lower residuals.
In this case, the cheapest MSRP will likely have the lowest payment.
The EX-L is the highest you can go, and keep the best residual.

The $1300 is all Honda-to-dealer incentive, so you won't see that anywhere. And, is likely why you got such a big discount.

I see the Honda one-pay MF is .00020. Are Dealers obligated to honor that and will they attempt to change any other factors to make up the difference. Thank you.
