There was a Hawaiian poster here a long time ago that leased his BMWs from Los Angles and had them shipped to HI. He said it was well worth the wait and the shipping cost. I LOVED Hawaii. My wife and I have been saying we need to get back there ever since we left when our honeymoon ended 14 years ago.

Yes... someone I know who wanted a Lexus (Lexus and Toyota is brought and sold by one company here) did the same. But for a Honda, the savings would be marginal. Shipping a car is about $1000.00 and a SUV about $1500.00. The savings by purchasing and then shipping to Hawaii would probably be best actualized on the luxury brands.

I don't want to disfigure your painting of Hawaii but its not the same Hawaii that you saw 14 years ago especially on Oahu. Although, if you are wealthy enough and able to afford the lifestyle on the neighbor islands it may be still paradise.

I'm sure daily life isn't paradise 24/7 365. I know HI real estate has one of the highest median home prices in the country. It isn't exactly cheap where I live either, but given similar home prices you guys get the good weather nod.

We visited 3 islands (Maui, Kaui, and Oahu) on our honeymoon. We had a good time on our last leg of the trip (oahu), but Maui & Kaui were by far our favorite. Oahu was very much like "the main land." Same stores as 5th Avenue in NYC and every other mall in the USA.

Good luck with your Pilot. We ended up buying our 2017 AWD Touring instead of leasing it due to the much lower interest rate 0.9% for 60 months as opposed to the base money factor which was over 5% (at the time). It is a fantastic vehicle. I can't say enough good things about it.

They gave me a price of $35,00 then I said I wanted to lease & they are giving me a lease of $465 mo with $1,000. down. The seems high but I could be wrong. Our credit is excellent if that matters.
