he is not concerned, because they have the conceirge service, so any time it needs something, they flatbed a loaner, take his away, and bring it back when finished. I am sure in a pinch the Hyundai dealer can take care of it too.

They probably take it to the Hyundai garage....under wraps.

Many moved from political jobs in previous administrations into the news positions along with others moving into government jobs.

My check for finding omitted news from some sites and erroneous news from some is to read a wide variety of sites on the internet. If the main stream outlets are omitting facts that a helpful to their "opposition" as a way of giving fake news, often one of them will refer to it briefly. That gives credibility to the full news stories from the other sites on the internet. It's like all the sites on the net for magazines for people loving fast cars or exotic cars (nothing wrong with that) were bashing GM products gratuitously at each opportunity they could work in a negative.

They did it because many of the readers liked hearing that kind of thing. It got so it was circular news where the perceived support of opinions from the media reinforced the perceived opinions the media had given earlier. Another more timely one, re GM, is a talk show on Columbus radio sponsored by a large dealer group's Honda store. One personality on the show is a know it all about cars from years in the business, many at--wait for it-- the same Honda group. He used to work in gratuitous bashing of other brands when a Honda had a problem, saying that the other brand had awful problems with the same thing, implying the Honda's problems were minor. Often Chrysler Jeep were his target. More often GM products are his targets. He used to bash Fords, but their group bought a Ford store in Beavercreek (Near Dayton/WPAFB), so he slowed on the Ford complaints.

Last week this show had a caller comment on GM's cutting back on models of sedans. He was talking about how ugly the Cruze is. Now I don't believe even anyone on here has called the Cruze "ugly." He went on and on. He was fulfilling the circular technique of the media of bashing something and justifying the bashing because they had heard the same bashing earlier.

Filled up with PUG earlier - $2.49.9 a gallon at Costco. Costco gasoline consistently has been running 45-50 cents a gallon below most TopTier gas stations down here. Their RUG is $2.09.9 a gallon. When you are saving $6-$7 a fill-up on gas, that’s significant. I fill up once a week with 12-15 gallons. Hope this lasts for awhile.

As far as being forced to buy EV's, I'd consider a Model 3 were I 10-15 years younger or a Model S with or without the government support.

I more recently considered a Volt because of the lack of range anxiety.

I just can't justify two newer model cars. My wife keeps suggesting we don't need two cars. But it's very convenient to have two for when I take Junior's Cruze for service or tire rotations on his Michelins. He gets his Cobalt from high school and college back to drive!

I can't see replacing the Malibu. Yet. But I'd definitely take a look at Acuras when I do. I suspect a non A-type has a seat for my rear end with all the features and visibility I'd like.

I can picture a few folks here would be absolutely surprised were I to buy an Acura or Tesla. Or a Hyundai G70.

We went to a movie in Bradenton today, it is about a 45 minute drive each way on I-75. I did what I do now, I travel in the middle lane at around the speed limit or more if possible. I leave a fair bit of space in front. I watch the cars who sneak around or come up on the right and then wedge themselves into the left lane...just to try to move up a by a few cars. If they want to cut across in front of me I let them....I don't care. If they tailgate me I go slower and leave more room in front so I can slowly come to a stop. They hate that and zoom around me and get in front....that is good, I would rather them be in front than behind me. My 45 minute trip probably takes me 5 to 10 minutes longer than them....but, I arrive relaxed and actually enjoy the drive a lot more. They might even die early from a heart attack or something.

So many people are in a hurry these days......just like that lady you saw....let them do their thing....what an awful way to live.

I have seen more bone head drivers in my life than most cops.

For instance, coming back from Vermont Thursday I was on Rt. 4 between Fort Anne and Whitehall. Dark, heavy traffic and raining. Suddenly this guy in an old Dodge minivan flies past me and another car and tries to pass a tractor-trailer. He slammed on his brakes to avoid oncoming traffic and nearly hit the car in front of me. Then he did it again, and again, each time nearly avoiding getting creamed.

Later on I-87 in really teeming rain somebody in a sports car flew by at high speed and proceeded to use all three lanes to weave back and forth passing everybody. 80-90 in a rain storm?

The question isn’t when people like that crash, it’s how many people they’ll take with them. I’m no angel when I get the need for speed but I do it where I won’t make anyone pay for my foolishness.

Glad you are finding gasoline at a price that pleases you. If you're burning 13 or so gallons of gas a week at, what, 20-25 mpg, that adds up to quite a distance. Purely out of benign curiosity, where do you go that adds up to 260-325 miles per week? I just retired, and if I don't drive up to the cabin, I accumulate a third of that, or less.

I had mentioned a problem signing in with my Android 4.4 cellphone to read Forums. Had some help from the Help at Edmunds. My old XP laptop was next to get the wrong password message. But my Win10 laptop was still working.

I was ready to use the reset password but wanted to wait a while. Meanwhile, the XP laptop signed in when I tried it again. I'm always removing the ads from it with cleaners because it is so vulnerable to attack despite my Norton antivirus on it. But it started working just fine.

No joy for Cellphone signin. Today my ChickFilA app wouldn't let me add money to the app account from my credit card. Something else had changed there. Since I was running an old version of ChickOne app, I realized it was time to at least get WiFi working on my new cellphone.

Joy. The ChickOne app works with all features now. The Forums at Edmunds even logged on with the old password. I didn't have to try messing with the password and chancing botching up my other two access routes!

I did miss being able to read Edmunds while sitting at the gastro place for my wife's esophagus stretching procedure. A couple hours with just online newspapers and forums wears thin.

I drive round trip to the Boca Raton Town Center Mall every day to walk with two friends. That’s 30 miles per round trip. I usually go out for dinner twice a week with one or more friends and go food shopping once a week.

Additionally, there are those incidental special trips - like yesterday I drove two close friends from Boca Raton to MIA for their trip to Quito - 120 miles (15 miles to north Boca Raton and 60 miles to MIA and 45 miles back to my house).

I have 9700 miles on the car - 1600 of those miles in the last 4 weeks. I average 23 mpg on the car. I drive more now as a retiree than I did when I was working full time.

I hope to put few miles on my vehicles come spring when I start riding my electric-assist bike to work. My excitement to begin doing so has made this the longest winter yet.

Not from here, nearest movies (there are 2) are about 25 minutes away, but they have about 10 screens, needed a theater with 20 screens to see a more obscure movie......besides, it was a rainy windy day, and we wanted to get out for the whole afternoon.

My Ford has less than 12,000 after three and a half years years but I have 3 other vehicles.

Thanks for the explanation. If you're driving 30 miles a day to a shopping centre plus all the rest of it, my curiosity is satisfied, for whatever that's worth. Either way, if you're logging 1600 miles in four weeks, that adds up to a considerable annual situation -- 400 miles a week times 52 is, what, 20K miles plus a year.

Another point about the subsidy paid for EV cars, as well as some hybrids like the Volt, is that they don't pay the Federal or the State gasoline taxes to help pay for the roads and infrastructure. Their share is being paid by the gasoline-fueled vehicle owners. Many states, and I believe the Fed, are floating the idea of more taxes on fuel to pay for what they squandered out of the road fund instead of using it for roads and bridges.

Don't get me started on the truck's share of taxes for roads. Many semi trucks used to have a sign on the rear of the trailer saying they paid some amount in road taxes last year, e.g., $6,000. My comment was that they did $40,000 in damage and caused 10 automobile accidents. Drive behind a semi on a summer day and hold your arm out the window and feel the bits of pavement and dirt that have worn off the road surface by the heavy loads and is being kicked up by the air stream around the wheels of the semi.

This is funny.... I hope it’s fake. On a similar note, just talked to my cousin. He stopped for Diesel for his brand new 70K pickup. A few miles down the road the truck went into limp home mode, then shut down. Apparently there was gas in the diesel tank and it caused 11k in damage.

I would agree, except for one thing. Too many news organizations now have their own agenda. Not to buy totally into the "fake news" narrative, but some organizations claiming to be journalists and complaining about how they are being treated are really partisan boosters for one side or another, and often use sensationalist tactics to make their case. When I look at the daily summary I get from the Boston Globe for instance, I often just shake my head and wonder how they can honestly call themselves journalism. Makes one long for the days of Walter Cronkite.

100% agree, GG. Unfortunately I don't think there's even one media outlet left simply reporting the facts. You have to wade through the bias to get to anything useful.
Bias doesn't matter if the facts speak for themselves, right? If I choose, say, in my publication, ONLY to report all the defects with Honda cars, and nothing about GM, or nothing good about Honda---well that's "bias" but still the truth (presuming I didn't make up the thing about the defects).

What the Russkies do is a bit different, and they are VERY good at it. They would give you 20% very accurate information on Honda, which you could then verify, and then feed you 80% false info. Worse yet, these lies would then be often repeated by either willing or, often, unwitting accomplices in the American media.

I guess you could say the same about "road tests", although I don't think the Russians interfere too much in those!

I think we’re violently agreeing. The mere fact that a foreign power, one that we’ve traditionally had a contentious relationship with, was able to help sway an election through a misinformation campaign should be scary enough. Never thought I’d see that in my lifetime. But, here we are.

We all know which media carries a biased agenda. Stay clear and use facts as a guide. I read the NYT, WSJ and the Washington Post. Sometimes I’ll sneak a peak at USA Today. I do like CBS Sunday Morning. But, I don’t even watch the local news anymore.

They also sell diesel. Didn’t see any semis there fueling up, as they’d have a hard time getting under the canopy. First time I’ve seen that.

You can make the same tax argument about bicycles that we are required to share the road with or who get special bike lanes gratis.

What you say about trucks is true which is why I won’t follow behind one in any of my good cars. If you do that too often your hood will look like it was sand blasted.

Pure gasoline? He’s lucky he didn’t blow the heads off. We had a few drivers over the years manage to put gas into the diesel school buses. Not pretty.

That's funny. I'm almost as close to the Fields Ertel Costco. We never go to Florence.

We belonged to Sam's Club, but they closed the one in Oakley, which was closest to our house, so we let it expire. Costco is just too far away. The only time I joined was because they had a great deal on tires, and it paid for the membership, plus another $150 less.

My understanding when the Genesis first came out was that they could bring the car out to you to test drive and would deliver the car directly to you with all the paperwork for you to sign. That was it would be possible to buy the car without stepping into the dealership. Could they be trying to get that business model going?

People who are so great and altruistic don't make unfounded accusations of pedophilia via Twitter like golden boy Elon. That BS should cost a lot of his fortune right there. Seeing how his battle with the SEC has gone, however, it is just more evidence of the golden rule. He may have some cool ideas, but he has some enormous flaws as well.
Some psychiatrists say that any every decision that anyone makes is self serving in some way. Say that someone wins millions in the lottery and then gives it all to charity just means that individual valued all the goodwill people would feel towards him, and his own self concept above the money. I would disagree, but it is an interesting concept.

I believe that it was Robert Heinlein who once said that aulturism is based on self deception.

No it's not, we still have a free press and they can report on anything they want, but an elected official has his or her choice in how to communicate to the general public.

My understanding when the Genesis first came out was that they could bring the car out to you to test drive and would deliver the car directly to you with all the paperwork for you to sign. That was it would be possible to buy the car without stepping into the dealership. Could they be trying to get that business model going?

Jmonroe and I both had very early build 2009 Genesis sedans.... I know I was never offered that when I first started inquiring about it.

Yep. More details. It’s a new “dual pump” setup and the local dealer had three this week from the same place. Station is claiming responsibility and fixing the truck. I’m sure more damage would have been done but the computer shut the truck down.

Actually DDT isn't anywhere near as bad as it was said to be. Unless it's used in exceedingly high amounts it's relatively safe. Several countries in Africa use it with great success with very little side effects. "Silent Spring" was filled with poor science.

She just skipped a step. First, natural gas has to be pumped into the power station that generates the electricity for her Tesla.

The funniest part is the guys laughing. I don't think those jackels in the car helped her.....I think it was the gas station attendant. Maybe she thought she needed fuel, because the gauge was showing it was getting low in power.

I’ve been to the theatre in Seminole on 74th. Should be closer to you but I understand the need for a good drive.

That theater would be about an hour away. We are on the other side of Tampa Bay about the same latitude as the North end of the Sunshine Skyway bridge. So, we would have to go South on I-75, then head west and north on 275, over the Sunshine bridge, go through St Petersburg, and it would have taken about 6 hours round trip because the Sunshine Skyway Bridge was closed most of the day due to high winds.
