Wasn't able to make a deal at the end of April. Dealer is calling me back today saying May's incentives are better.

I was told on one of the other groups i am involved in, that if the numbers are close to where you want to be and the dealership has their heels in the dirt for their numbers, to ask for them to consider working up the lease at the buy rate. Is this a thing? can you explain what this means and how one would appropriately ask for this and sound like they know what they are talking about and asking for?

The "buy rate" is the base MF that we've quoted you. The dealer can mark this up for extra profit.

If you find that is the case, simply tell the dealer you won't sign unless you get the base MF.
