    everyone we meet....

Silly show but it was supposed to be. Not all that bad music really. I'd rather hear it than a lot of what is new today.

    G'day

I hate to admit that its stuck with me for more than thirty years

    Here we come
    Walking down the street
We get the funniest looks from
    Everyone we meet.

    Hey, hey we’re the Monkees,
And people say we monkey around.
    But we’re too busy singing,
    To put anybody down.

We’re just trying to be friendly,
Come watch us sing and play.
    We’re the young generation,
And we've got something to say.

    Hey, hey we’re the Monkees,
You never know where we’ll be found.
    So you’d better get ready,
We may be coming to your town.

    Yet more wasted brain space

    Cheers

and as for the show to the band .. the show idea auditioned the guys for the show, however every one of the guys had "some" musical experience ... michael nesmith was one of the brains behind the whole music video/MTV thing .. lol
  • ladywclassladywclass Member Posts: 1,713
done from memory .. if you go back and listen to the albums .. the songs that withstand the test of time are michael nesmith's songs .. he also wrote some that were recorded by other artists .. including linda ronstadt (and the stone ponees)

You people are starting to scare me.

Just when I think there's nothing wrong with hanging out in the Crew because they're really just normal people who happen to share an appreciation for Subarus and then you see a string of posts like these and you just have to stop and say "Hmmm" ;-)

Anybody else notice that Edmunds has totally changed what happens when you click on a user's name?

Congratulations to Mike (paisan) who is celebrating his 6-year anniversary here on Edmunds. Can anybody top that?

  • hypovhypov Member Posts: 3,068
Hmmm... I didn't realise that. I thought at first I might had set it to Private.
"What I'm driving" should be included :)

Just Checking some of the profiles, juice I thought you were around here much longer than I, but I see by your profile you joined March 99. and I joined April 99.

And I agree what we drive should be included as I think that was in our origional profile.(Just checked it was)

      Cheers Pat.

As far as I can tell, Mike has seniority, followed by Ken and then Bob (my apologies if I missed someone).

Yeah, I noticed that changed too. It loads quicker, but no longer opens a pop-up window. I prefer it this way.

Juice- Is that right? Why does your profile show March 99? Did you change screen names or something?

Bob- According to his profile, Mike Smith didn't join until August 99? In any case, I'm not sure we should still count him since he's pretty much dropped off. Anybody talk to Mike lately to find out what's up? Is it Loosh that keeps in touch?

Maybe I just floated around here at Edmunds for a while before settling in on the Subaru Crew? I know I used to post in a lot of different forums early on, but not anymore.

    Wonder what mine says...

only 2500 visits, but that's cause my work computer stays logged on 24x7

Wow, I'm shocked that I'm registered four days before juice!

Thinking back, I was lurking on various forums long before I joined and began posting. I recall spending a lot of time reading Subaru and VW posts before joining. And I thought juice was posting back then?! Something doesn't seem right.

When did the "Crew" actually form?

Too bad they don't show total posts like Nabisco. Visit count is no good when you stay logged in for weeks at a time!

It was my 5 year anniversary TODAY!

yikes. Looks like the Profile needs a little updating, too.
  • p0926p0926 Member Posts: 4,423
Craig- I agree that visit count is pretty much meaningless. Besides, I'd be curious to see how many posts Juice has :-)

    Loosh- Happy anniversary!

Examining the sanity of this crew? Don't go there... But you got it slightly wrong - Mazda goes Hmmmm - we Subaru people would go boing/boing/boing.

to get my earlier start date. 3/12/2000 for this ID, 9/20/2001 for Fibber2. I only lurked on these boards when I was trying to decide what van to buy to replace the Caravan. When I got the OBW in 9/01, I couldn't remember my old ID, so joined again....

Yeah...it's different alright. And I don't know if what you see today will be permanent. Feedback would be appreciated, so please send your comments via the feedback form or post them in Our Software: Your questions answered...

    Thanks!

I've had 3 different names here...the first was soon2bsubie, then 1down1togo (or something like that) and now my current one. Registered before we bought Susan's legacy; probably early winter 2001.
This afternoon is chemo #2 for Susan, who is currently shedding as much as our dog; however, she has 2 wigs ready.
Tomorrow, Michael and I are most likely doing our annual trip to http://www.cavallino.com/classic.html depending on how Susan is doing

Wow, I just checked my own profile and I didn't realize that I joined in May of 98. That's when I picked up my Forester!

juice and I were back here waaay back in 98 or 99 when we were battling it out with the CR-V owners. :-)

Back then, there wasn't much of an established Subaru forum here. The only big one was Vmag.com. I-club was still pretty small.

is the amount of posts we've all made. I'm at 5776 as of my last check.

    Bob <who can't shut up>
  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
that was a 'visit' count and not a 'total posts' count. if it is indeed total posts, they should mark it as such.

(edit - doesn't seem to affect the 'visit' counter)

  • p0926p0926 Member Posts: 4,423
Bob- 5776 is just the number of times you've logged into the Town Hall. Your actual number of posts is quite likely 10 times that number (a conservative estimate).

Hey Karen takes the record for seniority (by a month) from Mike! Of course being the Senior Host you would expect that :-)

    -Frank P.
  • locke2clocke2c Member Posts: 5,038
that's exactly what I was testing, Brian. :)

Wow, paisan was here before there was an i-club? I didn't know Edmunds was even around that long. I probably still wouldn't be coming to Edmunds if not for you guys posting about this place on i-club.

Ken, I was a regular on vmag for a while. I still remember the first few posts when the Forester first came out.

Mod_Bob told me we had 30 that night, which is only about average, but we did have 5 newbies. Of course 2 of those were Jamie and her UK buddy, but we still managed to recruit 3 newbies.

So we can call that mildly successful. I'll try to recruit some more special guests.
