Eek, I can't make the chat tonight, so I'll be missing the 4th in a row!

Can you guys (and gals, Brenda) let me know how it went, at least?

I only eat Spam in the woods. Most any food tastes pretty good cooked over a camp fire. Probably causes severe acne though, especially when washed down with the hot Tang.

Oh man... the memories... the horror. Well, as long as the fried spam with in some fresh bread then it's all good! Hey, I can add a 'grilled' marshmellow to that...

that big storm whipped through Kansas the other day and the heavy ice caused trees to fall. my home lost power at 10:15 PM on Tuesday. overnight was relatively fine because I have a waterbed so it was pretty toasty even after the house cooled to under 60F. downstairs was still pretty warm, but there are no bedrooms down there.

wednesday at noon the number of Wichita metro area without power was estimated at 80,000. they said it might take up to 6 days to get power back for everyone.

I'm staying with my uncle for now --they smoke in the house and have a short couch I'm sleeping on so I'm looking for other arrangements-- but I don't need anything but SC kind thoughts. :)

I'll only be able to post here at work, but in a little bit look for my comments about the Evo in the ice & snow over in the Cafe.

You can crash in my den, it has a day bed. The commute would be longish, though. ;-)

Not any more, there was, but Subaru in it's infinite wisdom had a wish to commit some sort of Hari Kari and withdrew her services.

Not only withdrew her services but actually forbade her to even participate.

      Cheers Pat.

I had to wipe the hard drive today in "upgrading" from Me to XP. Try to enter chat and get this error message:

You are not running a java-enabled browser. Either change the settings in your browser to allow Java, or change your Preferences in Town Hall to run the HTML version of the chat.

Changed preferences and still get the same error message. What gives?

I installed Java 2 RE and got in. Nice to be on the chat; hopefully I can be back on the boards a bit more often soon.

Just thought I'd drop in to say hello. So.... Hello!

Did I just read that Patti's not allowed to be here any more? Bummer, major bummer.

I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday season. Happy New Year!

Still loving the GT Wagon. Haven't had a chance to take it skiing yet as we're missing out on all this snow other parts of the coutry is getting. I think I need to go visit my Mom in Tahoe, they're getting absolutely dumped on!

Anyway, I'll start reading some of the thousands of messages I've missed.

    Cheers!

Actually the A-shaped grille sort of frowns a bit. ;-)

But sheesh, go look at a Jag S-Type, or a Maserati, or any Dodge truck. Or a Kia Amanti. Subaru's grille is tiny in comparison!

ok .. I have been such a 'wimp' about this thing on my neck ... I ended up NOT going to work yesterday or today ... took the pain pills and stayed in bed a LOT ...

went back to dr. today .. he took out the packing and 'squeezed' a bit more, but said it looks 'good' ...

I also have this 'thing' on one of my fingers that has given me problems for about 4 months .. I think it probably has something IN it that I haven't been able to find and get out ... He wanted me to have it x-rayed and there was such a 'backlog' in x-ray this morning that I am going back in just a little while to have that done .. at least this thing isn't huge and inflamed at this point...

    <sigh>

Don't feel guilty taking a few days off, this is your health we're talking about.

Folks, check out the Cafe thread, I wrote a review on the Xsara Picasso and wanted to get some feedback.

Brenda, I've got an appointment in about 3 weeks to get my walnut-sized neck cyst removed. it took that long to get an appointment! After I go, we can gross everyone out here with our war stories! :)

(I would comment on the B9 though!)
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I dunno, I just walked by a Murano, the B9 Tribeca isn't any more controversial than that. Inside, the Subaru is much nicer and less controversial.

I guess I just don't see what all the fuss is about. The grille isn't that big. The Murano has an enormous chrome stripe across the whole front end.

But the styling doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth because the styling cues compliment each other. Other than the big bulging headlamps that were smacked on the B9...
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
In the photos you don't see the texture, the blisters that house the lamps, so it's pretty hard to judge what it would look like in person.

People compare the photos to the Sienna, but I have a feeling it might look more like the Celica's headlights.

The Legacy has subtle blisters to house the lamps, they look good (better in person or up close). Don't you think?

That's why I've reserved further comments until I see one in person because the truth is that the B9 does have a bad side when it comes to taking pics.
  • hondafriekhondafriek Member Posts: 2,984
Brenda you know you are old when this happens.

Two old ladies are talking one says to the other, Ethel you have a suppository in your ear.

Ethel says Mabel I am glad you pointed that out, now I know where my hearing aid is:-).

      Cheers Pat.

We treated ourselves to a new Monitor today.

It is an NEC 19" LCD 12ms response time has all the bells and whistles including capacitity for digital hookup.

So if they are doing a biopsy on the cysts, we hope the result is B9???

  • tsytsy Member Posts: 1,551
    ;-)!

I've seen/done some I&Ds of cysts- not pretty. Kinda like the B9 is not pretty. ;-)

Sorry, perhaps I'm not being open minded about the B9. I know it's just a picture, but if someone showed me a picture of someone they wanted to introduce me to and she was that ugly in the picture- I'd definitely pass! ;-) (luckily I'm married!)

    G'day

Not sure whether this is the real Edmonds but there is some dude with a moustache looking suspiciously like a Burt Reynolds rip-off advertising Dodge Charger. Would I buy a car from this man? Not likely!

    Cheers (very dubiously)

    Graham
  • rob_mrob_m Member Posts: 820
I am not crazy with all the red, but I don't handle change all that well to start with.

I believe that the 'moustache dude' as Graham has perceptively named him, will be bumping our chat one hour earlier next week. Mod Bob warned that the chat might be moved. Rob M.

Burt Reynolds? I was thinking Charles Bronson.

At any rate, he probably has more explaining to do about the Charger than Subaru does about the B9X. For example, how did DC go from the attractive cab-forward Charger concept of the recent past to that bulbous monstrosity? Also, who decided to chop the top off a '50 Chevy Fleetline and graft it onto that pig?

Sooooo...how's it looking for everyone? I'm having some issues with Firefox browser. Please post any comments or problems you may be having with the new design in Our Software: Your Questions Answered. It would be greatly appreciated!

Karen, so far, so good. I haven't looked, but other than the red and new masthead/menus bars, what's new?

I have FireFox and IE6 - both appear to be functioning fine with the new Inside Line layout. Everything is lined up correctly, at least from my view.

The red is different, but I think it's ok.

For a moment, the new red color scheme had me thinking my monitor was finally on its way out. I relaxed once I noticed the blue text in the eBay ad box and the two message buttons and the bottom of the page. An instance of truly helpful advertising. :-o

I'm using Firefox 1.0 and seeing overlapping message headers and text at the bottom of some pages. The text flows over onto the grey border.

    Cheers,

Brenda have my fingers crossed for you kinda hard to type with them crossed lol. I spent the new year cleaning and waxing the obw for the winter very warm here in the north east. I even put my ski racks on for our yearly trip up tp ELK mountain in PA. Went and got the skies tuned and cleaned all the ski gear up. I was at my part time job yesterday and one of the idiot helpers that don't speak english dropped a 1500lb pallet of floor tile on my left foot . Boy did i see stars . I calmly told him to lift it back up but since "no speaka english " I was talking to a wall. finally got the other guy in the warehouse to lift it up . I say it was on there for a good 5 mins . Was able to walk away with much pain . After some time I bravely took my boot off and was suprised not to see it full of blood . I got off lucky 1st and 2nd toe all brused and swollen but nothing broken . Thank heavens Goes to show you that safety boots do work.

    Pat,

Congrats. Is a NEC MultiSync? I have the older 18" version (also with DVI inputs) and it's great.

  • hondafriekhondafriek Member Posts: 2,984
Yeah Ken it is a Multisync you called it right.
