Hello All! A question to the forum (I hope I'm not breaking any rules); Has anybody been able to get 7-10% off MSRP in SoCal? Or, anywhere for that matter??? I'm finding it hard to secure a good deal. Dealer inventory is low so I have to order the car I want. Even if BMWUSA is trying to create demand through low output, I have still read people saying they are getting 7-10% off MSRP. First time buying on the west coast so maybe my expectations are too high? Any insight would be helpful....

first month payment, tax (8.875), DMV ($75) and bank fee due on delivery.

the only thing i don't know are the residual values. what are the percentages for 10k, 12k and 15k miles?

Thank you for this! Being from NYC I'm used to seeing better quotes than I'm seeing in LA. Your build is almost exactly the same as mine. Given, your deal is actually better than the quote I got from my guy in NYC but, I'm getting quotes in the $1200-1300 range. When I tell them I'm looking for a better deal one told me, "our margins are nowhere close to those numbers!" Seriously considering buying in NYC and just shipping it out here. I would make up the shipping cost within 4 months.

Important to note that the taxes are being prepaid in NY, whereas in CA they are added to the payment - 9% of over $1000 is $90/mo.

Granted, that doesn't explain all the difference, but certainly some of it.

this is from BMW of brooklyn. i asked for a price and they just gave me this. i didn't have to haggle. this is the 4th BMW I or someone in my family got from this dealership. never had issues.

I'm calling them on Monday! DM me and I will use you as a referral!

i could have put the sales tax in the payment, it would have been 960/m with about $1100 out of pocket. it's an option and i may still do so. i can change my payment arrangement on delivery.

To my knowledge, you can't prepay taxes on a lease in CA.

You should care about getting a price that you're comfortable with.

That's true. But, basing it on some imaginary "cost" number that they've listed on their sheet doesn't help. Shop more dealers and get competitive bids.

If that truly was their all in cost, it seems doubtful they'd sell you a $70K+ vehicle to only make $1000.
