I honestly see my part as pretty minimal. They ask for procedures and I go in for a few minutes and do the procedures (that I’ve done for 27 years except wearing more coverings and a PAPR) and then wait for them to ask for any more help if they need it.

Happy Birthday to David Bowie. Rebel Rebel is my phone ringtone. My first day in court as the new Commonwealth's Attorney I forgot to silence my phone and it went off in the middle of an arraignment. Afterwards the defendant told me he liked my choice of music.
You can't make this stuff up.

    @davidbowie
I didn't appreciate his music at the time. More recently I do like it.
    Things change!

Happy Birthday, Elvis. Saturday: 87 years old would've been.
I still recall the radio announcement of his death and my
reaction. I wish I'd gotten to see him live.

A H.S. girlfriend of mine who worked for Lilly
in Indianapolis after getting her degrees did see him
    in Nashville.

    Nice!
Yeh, cool house. Are you going to charge an admission to see the inside? It looks like that kind of place.
For some reason I can’t save and post some of the inside pics. Problem on my end as my phone has been wonky lately.

Hey, since getting the booster my 5G is off the charts, 500MB download speed. I also got an upgrade to Windows 15 and an offer of free household work from a company operating out of the basement of a pizza parlor.

Thanks, everyone. I did not receive a reply on my offer, yet. I extended it for 72 hours because it’s the weekend. So, not sure why it’s taking so long. Maybe I’m impatient.

It’s 100+ years old, but has updated electrical, plumbing, etc. But, it’s still an old house and all that entails. It has a courtyard (which I like) and practically no yard (which I also like). A little apprehensive about renting part of it, but it’s set up to do just that, although it’s empty now. Figure the rental portion would more than cover taxes, upkeep and hopefully put some “walking around” money in my pocket in the process.

Nice area as @kyfdx points out, about 20 miles from where I live now, on the other side of the OH River.

    What prompted the change?

We have a split rail fence in the back to keep the dogs in the yard. That doesn’t keep deer from jumping the fence and grazing. I often find deer tracks. Don’t get me started about the many little bunnies, our dogs lose their minds!

Famous singers who write their own songs is a varying percentage. In some types of music few do according to my duckduckgo search. I never had the impression that Elvis wrote his own music.

I do recall a PBS special about the Carpenters and how Richard wrote much of their music, and I believe I was left with the impression that he writes music that end up being sung by many others through the
    years since Karen's death.

we get a lot of stuff at Aldis, and go to shop rite for what Aldi's doesn't carry. The wife went yesterday to both, and said Shop Rite by us was thin on supply (around 11 AM Saturday) and one of the employees said a truck was late.

Trader Joes is not at all convenient to us so we stop there maybe every couple of years if we happen to go by.

once in a while we stop at Sprouts for some variety. But never Acme. Only go there for fresh baked Italian bread!

Drove one hour south on I-75 and back, yesterday. The speed limit is 70, but everyone is going 80 mph. On the way back saw 3 cars going 55, and that was more dangerous than the speeders. The first one was in the middle lane, with 3 lanes going north. Cars had to brake when they came up behind and often the following cars had to jam on their brakes. The first one was an older car that looked like it had no power. The next two were in the right lane, one was a big Ford like a Taurus, and the 3rd one was a van, I think a Chrysler. The 3 of them caused cars to have to jam on the brakes or cut around them.....all had the potential of causing an accident.
I also was passed by a Tesla and I don't think the driver had any hands on the wheel.

With all we’ve heard about people using the auto-pilot nanny feature it’s hard to rationalize why people keep using it. Gives a lot of credence to the old saying, “he/she doesn’t have the brains they were born with”. I guess I’m too much of a paranoid driver.

I’m not even comfortable using cruise control, because I still have my foot hovering over the pedals.

And if my hands were off the wheel, I’d put them back because there is no other logical place to put them. And pretty sure, in the instructions, is where they are supposed to be even when using any sort of autopilot.

I use cruise control frequently and find it very helpful when needing to maintain speed, i.e. not speed, such as in a school zone. I do find my foot ready to press the brake pedal in situations where the adaptive cruise doesn't brake soon enough. Manual braking is required as ACC will disengage around 20mph and will not bring the car to a complete stop.

Interesting - the ACC in the Subaru will bring the car to 0 MPH, and all I have to do to re-engage it is a small tap on the accelerator pedal.

ACC in the Camry rental I had a couple of years ago functions as you describe - disengages at low speeds.

I have no idea what the ACC in the RDX does at low speeds. And I’ll never find out, since I’d have my foot on the brakes long before that.

You may have well documented data but if the data is incomplete, cherry picked or misinterpreted then it can be misinformation.

And if Government agencies are known to participate in that misinformation for things like traffic safety data, playing fast and loose with the numbers, it shouldn't be a huge surprise if some people are a bit skeptical when the "Government" does other things that require compliance for more important things. It makes those wild conspiracy theories more believable. Hence why "Thou shall not lie" is important for credibility.

It's a really nice vehicle. The fuel mileage was phenomenal. Very nice seats. Handled well and tracked straight. Lots of room. Of course, like most compact SUVs, a loaded one is probably $40K.

It was a great pick. It was the best car available from the Emerald Aisle, I think.

I find the ACC in my Mom’s RAV to be a bit jerky, it’s much better in the Volvo.

I love ACC, so great for long highway drives. One thing to keep in mind. If you are using it and someone cuts you off, etc the car’s auto emergency braking system will take over if needed.

Not having used it before, I found myself waiting too long to change lanes. I'd be at 75, then as I was overtaking the car in front of me, found myself doing 73. lol.

we get a lot of stuff at Aldis, and go to shop rite for what Aldi's doesn't carry.

We have a few Aldi that are close but Trader Joe’s is not convenient at all. We don’t go that often, so no biggie.

What I can’t understand is how Wegman’s or Trader Joe’s won’t come down here to Gloucester county. It’s not like it was 30 years ago here.

IIRC Wegman's id privately held which makes expansion a little more difficult. Now with Trader Joe's it could be a territorial thing. Back in the 60's Aldi split into Aldi north and Aldi South, currently they are two separate companies (however I heard they are in talks to merge back together). But they cooperate in many areas and one of them is territories. In countries where one operates the other stays out of with the exception of the U.S. where one of the Aldis operates as Trader Joes. So it's possible that Trader Joes won't go there due to there being an Aldis in the area.

One person's well documented data is another's misinformation. It all depends upon what or whom is in charge of what is allowed. And here we are.

Just remember the government isn't the only ones that play fast and loose with traffic safety data. However to see through the fog one must accept the possibility that they are wrong take a step back and view the landscape with unbiased eyes.

I’m usually always on the up and up with retailers and had zero idea that the other Aldi owned Trader Joe’s.

I recall reading that story. it isn't quite that cut and dried I don't think. Something about one partner left and started his own company? or they split the company in some way and became 2 separate entities. but they are not part of the same operation.

in our area, like Ott's or Canals, though they all used the same name after the families split up!
